I really like games where you can use the traps in the area to damage enemies. Always satisfying to pull off. I do kinda wish they changed the Shock status effect to more of a short stun to give it more utility over just shield breaking.

Some tips for the Spellshot- you want spells with multiple ‘flicks of the wrist’ because they will give 10% shield each volley. You also want these in your left hand dominantly so you can shoot and cast at the same time. Instant spells should be right hand.
Seems kinda not great that they didn't give all the different Backgrounds the same overall net gain/loss in points, unless they figured then it wouldn't make a difference and it was all for RP anyway. As is, sounds like all of my characters are going to be idiots. :p

Failed Monk (Archetype Nerd) will provide a bonus to both Intelligence and Wisdom, seems to be the most ideal if you want a higher potential capacity for spell cooldown (Int) and status effect damage (Wis), that's what you should go with. Otherwise, Village Idiot (Thicc) proves to be the most efficient if you don't mind countering a negative of -3 to Intelligence, as you get 10 points to allocate in character creation, and 50 points in total to invest by the launch level cap of 40. It does mean you'll only be able to take Int to 27 instead of 32 with Failed Monk. You can alternatively pick Recovering Inventory Hoarder (Packrat) for +2 in Int, +5 in Attunement (Action Skill Cooldown), -2 Dex and -2 Con, so it's potentially a less ideal choice if you're going for Ambi-hextrous as I have no clue if action skill cooldown is converted to spell cooldown when you have no action skill.
