- Hi everyone, I'm really thrilled to partner with BUFF® and OMM to create this exclusive Wild Ginger Running headwear for my awesome, loyal Patreons. Here I am demonstrating all the different ways you can wear this stretchy, versatile tube of warming/sun-protecting fabric, including my favourite - the Pirate. But which way do you wear yours? Let me know in the comments below!
Find out how you can get your hands on one of these awesome, limited edition Wild Ginger Running BUFF®s here: www.Patreon.com/WildGingerRunning - I'm not allowed to sell them as part of the deal with BUFF® and OMM as they have very kindly designed and given them to me for free. I hope you like them - I love how bright and colourful they are, and this means we will all be able to spot each other's friendly faces at trail and ultra running races!
In this film I also show you some of the other head and neckwear items that BUFF® sent me to test and wear in my films over the next year or so. Like, did you know they also did warm, fleecy hats with matching neck-warmers? I am really enjoying mine now the weather has turned that bit cooler again here in the UK! (Links to all of these below)
Thanks very much to BUFF® and OMM for partnering with me, and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone wearing a Wild Ginger Running BUFF® this year! See this film here for where you can join me for a run in 2019: • Join me for a run in 2...

Here’s one I like (purely because I’m a paramedic and its handy if you’ve nothing else available). A splint for immobilising an injured arm. Doesn’t work on all types of arm injury but your basic shoulder injury/clavicle fracture... works a treat if you’re stuck for something to use.
Extra face coverage for balaclava (3:34):
With the BUFF over your head and under your chin, grab the excess cloth by your throat/under chin and pull it over your mouth and nose. I know this was mentioned in a previous comment, but I hope this one is a bit easier to find 🙂
Nice suggestion thank you!
The hat, or scull cap is brilliant under a cycle helmet on a cold day. Love your enthusiasm
also the buffs tend to be thin enough that you can use them as scarf and cover your chin and cheeks and still fit well under a ski or bike helmet shackle.
Cool trick on the wrist pocket. I did a variation of that once to hold my iPhone and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. My daily use of the buff is as a sleepmask.
Winter time, like now I wear my buff (with reflectors) as a hat. In the summer it’s a sweat catcher.
Nice, good skills DP!
I`ve been given buffs as presents and never knew what to do with them so this has been educative. Still, not something I really have a use for as a man.
Lol men look great in Buffs!
You can also use a buff as a hand held bottle carrier,i use mine to carry one 500ml soft flask.
Fun vid! I'm a huge Buff fan and wear one in all my videos 😃
@@wildgingerruns Hi again, when I first set up my channel I actually approached Buff to see if they do an affiliate programme but they said they didn't. May I ask what setup you have with them? Jonathan
@@wildgingerruns ahh, nice one!
Lol at Britain this summer... Its really good as a face mask
@@wildgingerruns yes unfortunately due to the current situation..... No hiking but good as some protection as a face mask....
As I normally wear a hat while running, I sometimes the buff through the velcro size adjuster and let the it fall down the back of my neck to give some extra protection on hot and sunny days
yay, lucky number 13
Oh yes, lucky 13!
The def favourite is the sweatband with the hat a close second in cooler weather as there's less natural insulation as I get older :))
still vearing buff on my neck here in spring time whitout it i woud freeze bad i actually have exactly that pink one and middle of winter there is those polar buffs it is must i dont think i woud be alive anymore if i didint had bunch of them
Love a buff!
I sail a lot so loving this item Oh I like the Pirate definitely Thank You so much
This is headband size or original size buff? I am gonna use them mainly for headband. Some people said original size is too much fabric for headband style, what do you think?
Thanks for the video. I've never used a buff for running. Perhaps I should try one.
A do the Babushka when I'm cooking to keep the hair out of the food. And now I know it's called a Foulard. So basically, I'm a French chef!
I did these tricks at home
cool, your neighbours must be thinking “what’s she doing now?!” thanks for sharing 👍
Great video , I’m in Florida & trying to keep sweat outta my eyes ! Thanks & Love The Accent !!
Wonderful! Thank you Mark!
Mine is too big, and haven't spent time trying to shrink it intentionally. Using it as a mask is too loose, so I have the modified balaclava where it doesn't cover the entire top of my head but up to the back of the top of my head... if that makes sense?
You missed the step for balaclava where you pinch under the chin, and pull it up over your nose, so the opening is still anchored under your chin.
Hi Claire, great video! Just wondering, is the buff allowed to be classed as a hat for minimum kit requirements for hill/fell racing?
Looking forward to one of them!! 🥳🏃♂️
Hey claire I got a question is it normal for the original buff when u get it to be itchy?
@@wildgingerruns it could have gotten dusty because I ordered it online but thank you claire for your help
Nice one 👍
Just had one delivered this morning from Jackson Sports (thanks guys) as couldn’t be fussed to make a mask! Love the versatility already.
Mask, sweatband, and beanie. Ideal.
Excelente saludos desde México 😎👍
I wear a lot the hat way 😁
Hi
Hi
Thanks for sharing your glove trick!
Wear it at a protest in a variety of ways to protect skin from sun, and as a partial mask.
👈 Nicking my idea for -8 running. That’s ice forming on my buff as I breath out.
has to be pirate.
just because
How has buff not been sued by duff beer 😂
Spartans did not wear headbands because soy was not part of they're stable diet.
Wild Ginger Running staple diet?
I want my 9 minutes back. Anyone could figure these out on their own.
Glad you liked it!
