    The only person heard saying the ugly truth about swim through middle split, when all the others are bullshiting. I also have realised this fact that a minimum requirement for this is one must be able to do almost full straddle, which all the other do not point out and idiotically say that anyone can do this.

      Thanks. Yeah I definitely consider this one advanced hip flexibility and trying to do it before you are ready can really mess you up!

I just put up two videos on shoulder mobility that you can find on the channel page and I have a four-part backbend series coming next year too. One of the tutorials will be on building back flexibility combined with hip flexibility, which is just what you need for that split backbend ;)

    I need to do a swim through in dance. I am no where near flat in my middle splits, but we are allowed to use our hands to push over. Is there any way that I can make it look more elegant, rather than getting on my side and pushing myself over?😅

      You probably aren't going to like my advice! I consider this move pretty advanced and I don't have any of my students work on it until they can at least get their belly flat on the floor and kind of close to a middle split. If you are mostly using arm strength to roll over then your hips just aren't ready yet. I'd recommend continuing to train your mobility because pushing through this can cause long-term (and even acute) hip injuries. But keep working on your mobility and working towards your goals!
