This was my childhood favorite cartoon. I watching it right now. There were a handful cartoons in the 60s that I love watching. and this is one of them .Cecil and one liners are so funny 😅. Thanks Bod Clambett .for the memories.
When I was a youngster I had a Beany Cap Copter. You'd wind it up, push a button, off went the propeller, and you better hope the propeller didn't land on the roof of your neighbors house. Brings back memories, plus I forgot about Dishonest John, what a cad.
Beany copters were a lot of fun. The prop flew great and really high. Red cap, and came with one blue and one yellow propeller. They even had a secret compartment in the center of the prop. Strong spring though. Kind of dangerous fired at close range. I had two of these as a kid. The spring broke on the first one. Caps slipped away years ago, but still have the talking Beany doll downstairs. Ah memories!
Think of the load on the neck flying that way, and then the counter rotation without a tail rotor. I'll bet Beany's invention led to thousands of FAA accident investigations.
The plot point that DJ is trying to pass a child's invention off as his own is very reminiscent of Meet the Robinsons, especially since him and Bowler Hat Guy are very similar anyway
I had ALL the Beany & Cecil toys....my younger sister was frightened of the DJ and Cecil hand puppets....especially when I would pull the string! I would chase her around the house all the time....Nyyat nyat nyaaaaaaa!!!

Love the use of "Dance of the Reed Flutes" in this. Bob Clampett's use of classical music in this series probably stemmed from his Looney Tunes roots...
Some episodes used the original, Woody Woodpecker theme. [Another well known 'net user, RUclipsr, and cartoon fan, ThadK.,noted this as well.][Early Lantz composer DARRELL [sic] CALKER's eerie electric ortan descenind notes made up from that opening to Woody are used on Beany, some of the oldest stock music.] By coincidence, another Lantz composer, CLARENCE E.WHHEELER

Havent seen this episode since I was a kid. Im 58 now; good memories.
I haven't either I'm also 58.
What wonderful memories this brings back. I had no idea any clips still existed.
You know what I like to see is the very beginning of the Beany and Cecil shows. "The opener." That will be great to have someone to upload that :-)
I had the talking beanie doll too. remember it well, and I was like a toddler

The humor was beyond its intended audience
You could buy a Beanie Copter at Sears. The propeller flew off. There was also a Beanie doll that sold like crazy, and a Cecil puppet.

I just LOVED Ben-Hare and Harecules Hare.
Anyone wish for a COMPLETE DVD set of Beany & Cecil?
This cartoon is insane. But I remeber it fondly.
A talking mastsa ball - great

i love dishonest john laugh
Yeah, noticed that too.
Before the cartoons of He-Man, Thundercats, Transformers and such were a thing, animation had this as an example of an episode-long toy commercial.
Dishonest John: one of television's great villains.
Wish someone could find the Harecules episodes.

There's some odd inuendos in Beany & Cecil.
Beany looks like he's either drunk or drugged up. lol

Is it me, Or does Dishonest John look like Charlie Chaplin at 03:52?
That's the general idea...........;)
Nyah-ha-ha. The only better villain than Dishonest John I've ever seen is Iago in Shakespeare's "The Tempest". And, really, it's close!
Iago was the villain in "Othello," not The Tempest."
I think he did!
i did not hve color tv bk then
If someone has Harecules Hare video's please post them. Thanks.
i want a boat so i can call it "leakin lena"
Beany and Cecil - Beanyland
