They shoulda closed in in more. If you look at my office, besides the sound of the fan in my PC, with all the random shit on my shelves, plus the foam, here and there, and I’ve gotten the best audio ever.
Yes, the mic has pretty good rear sound rejection. I ended up recording my newest song open air and just aiming the mic away from my pc so there was less fan noise.
@@DouglasThompson nice! What model is it, if you don’t mind me asking? There’s a few I have my eye on already, mainly C800G emulations but typed vid def sounds solid. I’ll check out the song!
Yer mate 90% gimmick 10% iso. I like the head up the hole in the bottom idea, and you could have your phone for the lyrics attached to the back wall 🤔. You might get a bit short of breath quite quickly though 😂
@DouglasThompson Jesus Christ 😳 $1000 surly anyone with basic practical skills could make one for well under half that price. It's just a big box with sound deadening. I recon I could build a walk-in booth for less than half that.
If your room is already quiet you won’t hear a difference duh. I didn’t hear much noise in your room at all so you won’t notice a difference. Needs to be put in a place with more noise to tell the difference. Open a window or something
Lol, my room is loud as hell...pc is an absolute monster. Concrete floors and smooth semi-gloss walls. I turned the gain and compressor down quite a bit so it wouldn't be so crazy for a song I recorded. I used the same levels for this video. I wanted to see if I should use the box or not. I chose not to use the box for my newest song.
Yes...really not much. I will use it to deaden things a bit but it's gigantic... I might just build a damn vocal booth. It would be good for voiceover work for my channels as well...
POp popp pppp is what i hear without the box :) ( Edit:Its actually you holding the mic with your hands) I dont thing its a gimmick at at all and that depends on your room. I have a small room and got rid of some furnitures and it now echoes a lot. In my room that would make a really huge difference. In a studio its just wasted money. It aims in the middleground for someone that doesnt want or cant afford to soundproof a whole room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now i seen the whole video its kinda of impractical and only good for very few people. And those people better make it DIY. When you get out of the close sweetspot its even worse that this not being there. Like a lot of things if you want to get it right do it all. Soundproofing is the way to go.
Yes...I ended up recording my newest track yesterday (the day after I filmed this review) open air because not only could I barely hear the difference but I couldn't remember my damn lyrics and It was making my takes sound weird an off axis by tilting my head. Lol Anyway, I hope I can find a use for it. Maybe it will be good when I'm doing video voiceovers and just letting my thoughts pour out. Idk...I might try to get ahold of the company and see if I can get a refund too...lol
Im here from the "Amagansett Press" channel. You did great two years ago in the Postoffice dude. Kudos to you ❤
Damn that happened 2 years ago...that's insane. But thanks man!!! Appreciate you checking my stuff out.
@@DouglasThompson See.. Good Karma Never Disappoints 😎
Keep making good videos 👍👍
I wonder what it would sound like if you replaced the foam with custom Rockwool covers.
Be an interesting test.
@@DouglasThompson might purchase and try it out in a couple weeks
@@Freewayquezmusic let me know!!!

Yes, the front is too open. And for some reason they used the worst thinest foam ever on the front...
Sounds like the mic itself is pretty legit

I researched this idea a bit more and it turns out there is one like this but it's......1000 dollars...lol no thank you.
