Would you have a recommendation for an smallish edc self defense light around $75 or $50?

If you need something reliable, I'd go with the Fenix PD35R or PD35 v3.0 - they go for around $80 US though. Otherwise, any high candela convoy light could work - S2+ set to 100% mode with SFT40.
