- They say once you get a Henry you'll be set for life. One of the most iconic pieces in the safe and we could go on further with this particular big boy!
Holy smokes!! A true genuine masterpiece!
If you enjoy Henrys let us know in the comment section below!!
This rifle does have a safety. There's a transfer bar built in to the hammer. Best safety ever made for a lever gun. No dumb buttons or levers to clutter up the design. I even prefer it to the half cock type. Beautiful gun!

She is a beauty! I have been trying to get my hands on one of those color case hardened with octagonal barrel ever since the side gates were introduced. Finally got the carbine in 44 mag with the regular blued barrel and I love it. I don't feel like I settled. It's indeed a beautiful rifle even without the color case hardened receiver and octagon barrel. This old city boy finally got his cowboy rifle.
Sweet you are going to love it in every way. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I have two Henry’s: a .22LR and a Golden Boy carbine in .357 Mag/.38 Spl. Very impressed with both. Definitely want another one or two.
Heck yeah we love Henry’s. Hey thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Same here, model H001 and Big Boy brass 357/38 spl ... and have been pondering the Long Ranger, maybe a sinlge shot .223.
@@optician53 I would go with the Long Ranger (H014-223 or H014S-223). Why waste your time on the single shot when you can get the Ranger with that 5-round box magazine? They are SHARP!!! I have the 223, 243, 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor (all with the sights). However, they are geared a bit different from the Big Boys; the bolt on the Long Ranger is like stainless steel and a bit heavier, plus the hammer seems tighter, so when I shoot mine (especially that .308), I like to cock the hammer back before working the lever. I had an incident while sitting at the bench where I went to eject a cartridge and the butt stock hit the table and left a dent in the stock. HENRY took care of it for me, though, and I will swear by their Lifetime Guarantee!!! They are #1 in Customer Service and Quality, and if you are in any way not satisfied with your HENRY, THEY WILL MAKE IT RIGHT!!! So in the end, you just CAN'T GO WRONG WITH HENRY!!!!!😃👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I need another safe before I can put this one in it! My safe is full of HENRYS!!! (I have 25 as of this comment). Hoping to acquire some of those Big Boys with the side gates, especially the color case hardened models!!!🥰 HENRY is #1!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
Jealous.

The gun looks good. I always liked guns that remind us of America's wild West days.
Yes sir!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I have this gun in my safe except it’s a big Boy Brass 20” octagon barrel side loading gate large loop lever in 45 Colt. 😁
Nice!!
I like the looks of that. I have picked up a couple of the X models so I can run a suppressor and that is fun. Not as pretty but fun. Thank God Henry finally introduced the side loading gate!
No kidding that is a great upgrade. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I agree - the perfect choice. 16.5" barrel rather than 20", color case hardened; octagonal barrel; side gate loading.
Something about the shorter barrel just looks better IMO. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already
that one is beautiful
Thank you! We appreciate you watching, please subscribe if you haven’t already
I agree 100% regarding the fact that American Walnut is the best in looks.

Beautiful piece! That case-hardened finish is fantastic. I'm looking at the .44 mag version. Though my carry is usually 50% .45 Colt. Great vid!
I’m with you, the case hardened is truly a masterpiece. Thanks so much for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
I don't have that rifle in my safe, I have the Henry Big Boy 45 colt all brass with a 20 inch barrel in my safe and use it all the time.
I clean it and polish it every time I use it, I fire mostly +P ammo because I can and +P turns this rifle into quite the thumper.
Heck yeah, that’s awesome. I haven’t seen plus p in our local store lately but am all about having more power! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already!
@@GSquaredTactical Buffalo Bore, Grizzly ammo and Underwood ammo is where I get my +P ammo from, some of them kick hard enough to make you wonder if you just fired a 12 gauge.
That is the one I want. And then one of the 32s after that.
10/4 you won’t regret it. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
What do you use to clean and polish it ?
About the recoil pad you need it if you handload, the .45 colt is capable of much higher pressures than the weak cowboy crap most ppl feed it. Most
factory rounds are weak as well. I have a pet load it's a 255 grain round nose flat point hard cast lead powder coated that is 1,500 fps. That's a hard hitting round our past 200 yards. Nice video I love my Herery carbine also.

that was good. short and to the point. i have a Henry 30-30. i love the rifle.
Yes sir we love Henry!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
These rifles should well outlast the original owners, with proper care, but the great thing about Henry is if you a buy gun from them, they treat it as a lifelong bottomless cup of coffee, repairing, or replacing anything.

I have a J code Marlin built in 52. One of my best guns.

Just got the x series version of this , I’ve wanted a Henry for a very long time , bet you can guess what my most favorite firearm I own is now
A Glock lol. That’s awesome man thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I have 3 Henry’s…I want that particular model too as I have two Colt SAA revolvers in 45 Colt. I’d rather go shoot my 45-70 Henry 40 times rather than shoot my AR 200 times…just more fun.
We absolutely love Henry rifles and shotguns. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

I get the Henry emails twice a week, and all they have to offer in the emails is fancy, special models. Can't find the functional ones like your video presents.
Yeah they are hard to come by sometimes. Thanks for watching
My henry came with no sling attachments at all. Fine with me plenty of other options I had to pick from.
That is disappointing to have to buy aftermarket but it’s still a fine firearm. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Henry's are awesome also put hammer on half-cocked it's the safety

Hard to find 45 colt ammunition an very expensive I have one but in reality ruger precision6.5 Creedmoor has excellent range an 556 has repeating rds decent range an just a 9mm an 22 are best to own but I love my henry but owning this rifle just looks good on a wall an playing around with my boys
This is all very true. Hey my (Gene) last name is Wells too. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already.
No I don't Haha, thanks for the video but I don't think I could get it if I wanted...which I don't and never will own or of course purchase another henry after the runaround the company sent me on.
Do you want to share your experience
One thing I learned in a shotgun course I took: Manual action over automatic action does not mean greater reliability. More people f^*&cked up their pump action guns with short strokes and whatnots than they had failure of the semi auto guns. I still think there is a special splace for manual action firearms. Reliability does not equal durability. And manual actions have stood the test of time, where automatic actions still need to prove themselves. Waiting for the 100 year old AR that works flawlessly sitting next to my WInny that I know does ...
Good info and a fair point. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I have a henry 3030. I guess it is a golden boy. But it does not have the big lever. I got it back before Christmas. It has never been shot. There are a few more Henry's that I would like to add to my firearm collection.
You really can’t go wrong with any Henry, even the smaller calibers. Thanks for watching and we look forward to hearing about the ones you add to your collection!
Actually the Golden Boy models are in the smaller calibers of .22 LR and .17 HMR. The 3030 you described is probably a Brass edition. Basically the same receiver finish, if I am not mistaken. Still learning about HENRY, and I have been "collecting" since February of 2017.
@@Hothenrik I am not sure. Buy it does look like brass. I think I am still going to keep it. I will still be looking for the 3030 I want. Also, I have seen some other Henry's that I would like to have.
@@stolnpckup are you more into the "fancy" look, or do you like rugged ones as well? I have the 45-70 color case hardened and. 30-30 all-weather (and these were before they came out with the side loading gates on them). I also have the X model 45-70, which has the side gate. I love the fiber optic sights on those X models! I know, there are SO MANY to choose from, and they keep adding more to their line! I am actually considered a "HENRY Ambassador", since I have promoted the product around my hometown here in Kansas. I also had the great pleasure of attending the NRA shows in Dallas in 2018 and Indy in 2019, as a guest of HENRY REPEATING ARMS! So I try to continue to do all I can to promote the product, because they really are a top notch company!!! Hoping for more HENRYS for myself as well!
@@Hothenrik I don't understand the fancy or rugged look. I do like the 3030 color case and octagon barrel. That's the one that I want and have been looking for. I am trying to get it to look like the cowboy days. Also, I would like to get the 357, 45 colt and 44 mag all in color case.
About the butt plate. I'd like to have a steel butt plate instead of the thick rubber one. Rubber hardens up over time. Steel remains steel. I've been thinking about taking the butt stock down to a local steel fabrication shop to have one made.
Do it lol. Thanks for watching please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Are you a hand loader/reloader? If so, I’m curious if the Henry reliably feeds 265 to 280 grain with a larger meplat.
Decent video.
No sir not hand loading or reloading sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I just bought a Henry 45 to go with my shooters I love that Henry it has side load gate itsalott smoother acton then my 92 is rossi thinking about putting a quick release scope one you pop on and off edit oo my mine is also 45 looks just like that but mine holds 10+1 are you sure it only holds 8?

You may have seen this elsewhere, I plan on inserting this when ever I see some one talking about Henry. I want to state that I can not believe any company out there, will come even close to the customer service that Henry has. On 1/30/23 they completely wowed me on a gun (.44 BB) that I have had for 13 years, lets just say that there was a little something wrong with it, I had sent it in 2 or 3 times to have it repaired, they did for free each time.
I Happened to buy one of their 45-70 last week and discovered that they made a improvement on it, that would have resolved the issue on mine. I emailed them asking them if they could retrofit mine with the improvement, and they replied back same day, they are going to, after they receive mine, send me a brand new one (received 2/24).
It makes me very happy that in the last 3 weeks I have bought the 45-70, a .410 and my H004 (.22 GB) should arrive tomorrow. I plan on buying one of their .308, as soon as I can find one.(2/2/23 found one received it on 2/9), but since I am trying to fill up one of their very NICE 8 gun cases, which I have not bought yet, perhaps a H011C, 45LC is in my future.

Is this a carbine? I’m looking for the Henry in 45 Colt carbine, and like you, I don’t care about the gold receiver.
I already have their Evil Roy carbine in 22wmr. That gun is like butter, but I want a 45 Colt because a 45 Colt SAA (Pietta) just came into my possession.
There’s a lot to be said for keeping your ammo needs limited to a few types.
This isn’t listed as a carbine although could fit the bill. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
You lost me on your final thought about the stock. Are you saying it gives you a beating or it is easy to shoot? I honestly couldn't tell what you were getting at. To me it is a cup cake to shoot.
I’ll have to see if Trey can answer this as he is the one who reviewed it. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
It’s an easy shooter IMO. Chambered in what is not that large of a caliber and having the full size rifle to mitigate recoil, it’s a blast to shoot. Easy to keep on target too! -Trey
What safe do your recommend for storing weapons and other valuables? This would be my first safe, also which is the one behind you?
This one was a field and stream 24 gun safe. I definitely recommend it it was an amazing safe! Unless you plan on dropping thousands on a safe your security options are gonna be in the same ball park but the field and stream ones were much less expensive for us. Also all the time God is Good!
@GSquaredTactical thank you brother! I will research that model, who did you order it through and do they deliver? And you're right, a lot of safes are very expensive. I was considering buying one I saw at costco (I don't remember the brand) that had a fire & flood rating that seemed good compared to others I saw.
God is awesome and amazing!
Try some Buffalo Bore.
You’ll like the butt pad!
It will handle the “Ruger” loads. A lot of fun!
If I can find them we will certainly give it a shot. Thanks for watching

45 Colt, not long colt. Look up the SAAMI specs.

45 Colt not long Colt
In today's terms there is no difference between the rounds. The difference was key back when the rounds were first developed in military testing, it was meant to differentiate between the then 45 Schofield and the 45 colt. No difference today Jonathan.
First and last time viewer ,yes, I'm that old crotchety boomer, why in the 21st century does anyone say long colt, please stop.got 44 brass big boy way too heavy 9.8 lbs unloaded.
45 colt and long colt same thing. Why would you prefer we stop?
There is no such cartridge as A LONG Colt. Stop acting as knowledgeable. The .454 Cassul is a Loooong Colt. You gonna label the ACP as a short Colt? Stop the ignorance and read the head stamp.
Stop the trolling and watch gun videos for the guns instead of an opportunity to try and make someone else look bad because literally no one cares. In the owners manual for the gun it says 45lc so take it up with them
@@GSquaredTactical read the head stamp on the cartridge You may not be so butt hurt in older circles. But, I’m the troll, trying to save you enlightened embarrassment. Carry on

@@GSquaredTactical pard, show me the owners manual that says .45LC and show me the box label. I’ve heard the rumor of the Colt and Schofield dilemma. Some rumor you young people use to gain street credit. Research the cartridge head stamp. My, my, my. Carry on. It’s a .45Colt. Fact. Sheesh.
