    The Capitol Limited detoured for whatever reason in May of 1961 through Everson. On a magical Saturday early that month, my 4 year old passion for trains convinced my mom to take me for atwo alley block walk down to the frieght yards of the PRR and B&O. It ws a very busy Saturday with two PRR GP-9's shuttling cars and the B&O Capitol stopped at the yard office waiting for clearance. Thje entire passenger train past by and my jaw dropped in awe. A PRR engineer tossed a pack of Wrigley's gum to me and I cherish these memories to this day. Amazing for two small towns of Scottdale and Everson. I love those engines.!

    Nice review. I always enjoy your layout. Those Williams do seem to run really smooth. How can you tell which Williams are scale sized. Thanx

      Thanks so much! Unfortunately the only way to find out is the catalog search. I think all of their catalogs are available via PDF for free on the Bachman website 🚂💨 I do have a few 0-27 Williams like the PRR turbine.

      Ahh ! So that article from classic toy trains was really wrong 😂 they also said in the article that E7s were 4,000 HP. So maybe they reviewed the F7 and listed it as an E7 - explains why they also pointed out porthole windows lol. Thanks so much for pointing that out. I’ve got a bunch of Williams and it runs like butter. 🚂💨😁

    I have the same engines and also in the Burlington set..How do you go about getting a better sound unit for the dummy part?

    • @NixCrossing
      @NixCrossing  3 года назад

      Very nice! Those are also beautiful pieces. For that you could get a “Diesel Sounds “ kit new on EBay for about $85. You can go the expensive route and get an Electric Railroad Kit ERR on their website. They should all come with instructions, but it should be pretty easy.

  • @betsy662

    E8's had the port hole windows on the sides, as did the E9's, E7's should have the sliding side windows

    • @NixCrossing
      @NixCrossing  Год назад

      Thanks! Yeah I think Williams messed up on the E8s they made and did squares. It was their first major “oops” lol

    • @betsy662
      @betsy662 Год назад +2

      @@NixCrossing I wasn't aware that they had even made E8's, yeah, using the squares on an E8 would be inaccurate alright!

    • @NixCrossing
      @NixCrossing  Год назад +1

      @@betsy662 I think it was in a magazine on how they messed up but we’re going to fix the issues - I recently added Railsounds to this unit and posted a video. Next I’m adding a smoke unit (8 stacks)
