It's absolutely apparent that Mark has carved out his signature sound and style, and the quality of the music and performance puts him on the map of the greats in my opinion.
Mark has a unique touch and it's no disrespect to hear influences of Hendrix, Prince, Van Halen, Ernie Isley, Jeff Beck and John Scofield when he plays. He lives up to their contributions to electric guitar, he has fun on stage, he conveys it to the audience! Awesome player, awesome band!
SMOOOOOKIN'! Woo! For a 9 minute jam, there is an unbelievable amount of restraint shown here. A part of me was dying for a longer guitar solo, a second guitar solo, and a third, AND I'm also glad that Mark didn't take one. Glorious torture in the groove. I also love the way this tune is structured.
Wes seems to have changed his right hand style since the previous Naptime clip. Gobsmackingly amazing. If the film The Matrix were real I’d only want one thing and that would be a download of Wes’s groove. Jaco’s great and Victor of course but the dictionary of groove deserves only one entry. Oh yeah and Mark you’re pretty good too.
This seems insanely difficult considering in the original version Mark uses like 3 different guitars. I’ve never played guitar, but combining those different feels onto only one seems complicated

Shout out to that keyboard stand for holding it together during that absolute beating.

Wow, great team play! If you’re not bobbing your head, or tapping your feet, you’re near dead! Awesome recording!

Sweet...2:23 that keyboard player was about to play his keyboard right off the stage!!
Naptime was the first song that made me a fan of the Mark Lettieri Group. Love this 9 minute version. :)
I will only accept this answer if "Naptime" was the first ever song from Mark Lettieri that you've heard ;)
@@gustafsone you're damn right. great tracks in all his albums.
