Same with French lol “Je suis excite” (I am excited) means I am horny, many foreigners often mistake it with I am anticipating or looking forward to something......
Honestly same! My parents are from DR and I was born here in NY and it’s so difficult to try to sound proper and not speak Spanglish to relatives. I forget words, the grammar is off but my parents usually understand what I’m trying to say when compared to other people.
Chris, I'm super impressed. I took spanish every year in high school and I could NEVER do what you just did! I recognize words here and there but I can't have a full on conversation like that. AMAZING.
I am SOOO GLAD that you guys mentioned how Honduran Spanish is the cleanest Spanish and its soo true. I lived in Honduras for 6 years and you can hear how nice and clear they speak without much of an accent ❤️
Ian your Spanish is amazing, there is no need to be self conscious. You both did great! More videos incorporating Spanish :) me dio mucho gusto, gracias chicos!
I actually repeated that giggle myself a few times before Ian said they should put a reply of it 😂 And Chris's screams of joy are really contagious !! Makes me smile and happy every time 💖
Fun fact: "Embarazada" means pregnant, but "embarazoso" means "embarrasing". Also, where I live (Colombia), we understand when people from other countries use "pena" meaning "pity" or "sadness" (and sometimes we use it for that too), but we mostly use "pena" to express embarrasment or fear to be embarrased. "Me da pena hablar en público", for example.
I was about to say this! haha! I think the difference would be if you say Me da pena, which, as you said is to express embarrassment, as opposed to Siento pena, which would be more like pity, right?
Hey guys! Huge fan here from Argentina 🇦🇷🙋🏻♂️ • as a native speaker just wanted to say that Ian's killing it in Spanish. Don't be nervous of speaking to your aunts in whatever Spanglish/English or whatever. Chris is pretty good also. I love seeing two American citizens striving to speak this beautiful language. Focus on your blooming will be: "Enfócate en florecer" o algo así. Un abrazo grande. Que sigan los éxitos! 💓
Oh my God, this had me smiling the whole time, I love you guys and didn't know you were at least bilingual, you both did great. As a Salvadorian Spanish-native speaking myself, english as second language, working on my French and Italian, I enjoyed this way to much 🤗👏👏
I honestly adored this video!!! This was so cute and sweet. I wish more people would learn Spanish. Ian don’t be self conscious it was really good!!! Chris congratulations on graduating 🥰 love you guys so much!! 💕💕💕
Half houduran here 🇭🇳and yes I must say houduran Spanish sounds clear but they speak so loud 😂 like if they're yelling from the mountains ⛰️ my family in the morning don't know how to whisper
Right and I hate when they say “maje” or “pija” or however you spell that. I bend more into my Mexican side, so when I hear a Honduran speak, it sounds a little weird lol.
It’s the “it makes me feel insecure, & I don’t want to be put in an Insecure Situation so I just DONT see them” for me @ 4:44 I definitely can RELATE to that so much! I don’t see my aunts either because of those reasons! 😂
Don’t feel insecure Ian , your Spanish is soo good ; Chris you catch almost every word the right way , If you speak some Philippines language you most compare with Spanish, it has a lot of words in common.
He literally has the accent of a Honduran too not just the Spanish but like he picked it up with accent and everything. Definitely different than Mexicos!
Ian!!!! Please don’t feel embarrassed you speak great Spanish!!! It breaks my heart because my kids feel the same way and that stops them from keep practicing!! I wish I could convince them that they shouldn’t feel that way! Like your mom I never judge them just try to correct them! ALSOOO Chris!! You Spanish is pretty good! Honestly you look like someone that knows Spanish!
I knew Ian could speak Spanish but honestly I never thought i would be able to witness it, fue muy lindo verlos hablar español, y no se preocupen por no hacerlo bien, son muy buenos hablando y su acento es muy lindo, de ambos :D.
Omg more spanish videos!! I can relate so much with Ian when he says that he rushes the words to try and make it seem like you know omggg this is so me. What sucks we don’t speak it as much so we forget a lot of it 😩
I’m from honduras and so glad you did a video in Spanish! I speak Spanish pretty well but since I speak English so much more I get stuck on words too sometimes so you ain’t the only one! You guys are my fave!
Ian your Spanish is amazing! And you look specify good in this video 😃 Chris...The way you look at Ian...you're really besotic with him and it shows. It's so wonderful to see you guys so happy❤️
So about Veneno and the accent, I'm from south Spain (Andalucía) and that is where that particular accent comes from, we tend to speak without the -s at the end of the words, but there are plenty of different accents throughout the country. Btw, I loved hearing Ian speaking spanish, and Chris translating was really cute! I love your videos guys!
Ah c’est fantastique, Chris! Félicitations pour l'obtention de votre diplôme cette semaine. I took Spanish for 5 years, barely remember any. Took French for 3 years, remember more.
Omg you two speak Spanish so good, I’m impressed. This video is amazing, I liked it a lot. I’m from Cuba and even tho I’m very much Americanized if you will, it makes me very happy seeing ppl speaking Spanish.
🇭🇳 🇭🇳 🇭🇳 Honduran and polyglot here: BABES, I LOVE YOU BOTH AND I ENJOYED THIS SO MUCH. Don’t take life too seriously and have fun. If you want to, get more in touch with Spanish-speaking roots with you family, but you’re doing fine and it’s understandable (mostly). Love you, guys. ❤️
I love that you talked about "La veneno", saludos desde España❤️ Btw, it's not that we don't say the letter "s", it's just that we pronounce "z" as "th" and "c" as "th" as well before "i" and "e". In latinoamerica they pronounce all "s","c" and "z" as "s".
Omg guys!!! I think y’all are so freaking adorable 🥰 and I love your content, and you so genuine. Ian your Spanish is on point, so flaunt it honey and Chris you doing great too, maybe a little practice on your fluency will come back. Love you guys!!
Congratulations Chris!!! I love that video and hearing you both speak Spanish, you sound great. Ian, don't be ashamed in front of your aunts, you speak Spanish very well, but I can understand it :) . Greetings from Spain.
OMG!! I'm Argentinean and looove to hear you speak in Spanish, I like this video so much ! You should do a live in this lovely spanglish 💙 "y recuerda enfocarte en tu resplandor"
I relate to Ian soooo much! My family is Cuban and I grew up in Miami so everyone knew Spanish and I learned it for the most part from family so I get self conscious when put on the spot
Hey loved this video! I am latina and really get self conscious speaking english I loved seeing you guys try so hard you did an awesome job Really loved this video made my day ❤️
Me encanto este video.... se ven hermosos hablando español... espero que sigan practicando mucho... es un muy bonito lenguaje que todos deberian tratar de aprender... los quiero... y siempre me divierto viendo sus videos y sus tiktoks... abrazos
You guys make a great couple and I enjoy your videos. FYI: In the America's we speak Andalusian Spanish or the Andalusian dialect. Studies have shown that up to 70% of the women who migrated to the New World originated from the Andalusian region of Spain (Most ships departed from the ports of Seville & Cadiz). And women usually end up with the tasks of teaching and transmitting the language to the children. In some towns and areas of Andalusia they drop (or swallow) the letter /s/ and the letter /d/. This corresponds with Spanish spoken in Puerto Rico; Cuba; Veracruz, Mexico; and a few other areas of the Americas. In north-central Spain they speak the Spanish called, Septentrional Spanish - meaning "of the north". Septentrional Spanish is known to have the Selective Lisp. Anyway, the vast majority of Spanish speakers in the world (over 450 million) speak the Andalusian dialect.
Hi! I'm Filipino and your Tiktok brought me here. Glad to have found this channel. This video is extremely eye-opening - I didn't know I could understand written Spanish to this extent before. Filipinos do not speak Spanish but we have a ton of Spanish words in our day to day language that understanding written Spanish is to me like reading it and it clicking in my head with a 2 second delay. Hahaha. Listening to it though is entirely different - it just doesn't register as much as reading it. This blows my mind. Haha.
I’m 100% Honduran, I have a different accent when I speak English and Spanish!!! Our Spanish is very well spoke but a bit fast-ish when having a full conversation.
that's crazy cos I always assumed Ian was French. but when he panics or gets flustered, I definitely see a latina aunt in him coming out. muy muy adorable.
This Video is amazing to watch because i learn spanisch in school and I unterstand most of it because you speak Slow (for spanisch speaking people). I never understand Spanish people because they speak soooo fast! I loved the video!
Ian- I can completely relate. I feel comfortable speaking Spanish with my parents. It’s when I’m with family that I feel like my Spanish is criticized consistently. But I’m trying to work on speaking more.
Ian don’t you feel conscious about your Spanish you are killing it! And Chris your understanding is amazing...y’all are killing it!
Yeah he’s so fluent 🤩
Yes they killed their Spanish they shot it in the Foot. 😊 Love their channel it's a nice trip to Crazy Town 👻👻👻👻
Be careful with "Estoy excitado" as it usually means sexually excited... Es mejor decir "Estoy emocionado".
Siii lo mismo pensaba jajajajaja
OMGGG AHAHAHAHA
Same with French lol “Je suis excite” (I am excited) means I am horny, many foreigners often mistake it with I am anticipating or looking forward to something......
right
Like in portuguese "estou excitado" has a sexual connotation
LOL, we normally use “excitado” when we’re trying to say “horny”, excited would be translated better as ‘emocionado’
jaja si
I was about to comment the same thing lol
YUP YUP
maybe that IS what i was saying
Yes! 😂
I shouldn't be surprised Ian can get even hotter by continuously speaking in another language...yet here I stand.
Ha! I’m not the only one. He is so damn hot!
Ian’s Miami accent IS SPOT ON, everyone here literally speaks like that
Chris gives such golden retriever vibes ahh So adorable when he gets something right 🥺💚
He is, i love that about him, he is so adoreble!!!
I think he is so excited for his trip to new York, but he looks so cute when he excited ❤️
Did you just compare him to a dog lmao ???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you ain’t shit !
Chris did a great job, I love how he used the "usted" for elderly Ian 😂😂😂😂👌
I can relate to Ian feeling such comfort with speaking Spanish with his mom vs. the “comfort” he feels speaking Spanish to his aunts.😅
Honestly same! My parents are from DR and I was born here in NY and it’s so difficult to try to sound proper and not speak Spanglish to relatives. I forget words, the grammar is off but my parents usually understand what I’m trying to say when compared to other people.
Right! It’s not even a language barrier for me it’s just I hate being put into uncomfortable situations
Chris, I'm super impressed. I took spanish every year in high school and I could NEVER do what you just did! I recognize words here and there but I can't have a full on conversation like that. AMAZING.
He is smart boy, he looks so adoreble when he got excited like this, like little puppy!!!❤️
I am SOOO GLAD that you guys mentioned how Honduran Spanish is the cleanest Spanish and its soo true. I lived in Honduras for 6 years and you can hear how nice and clear they speak without much of an accent ❤️
OH MY GAWD. I did NOT expect Ian to know Spanish, let alone he’s half Honduran (?). Estoy literalmente SHOOKED.
Igual. 🇭🇳
Igual 😆 I've only seen like 2 of their vids i don't know about tbem
Right! 🥺 i love his accent
what's the other half? French?
Ian your Spanish is amazing, there is no need to be self conscious. You both did great! More videos incorporating Spanish :) me dio mucho gusto, gracias chicos!
I’m from México and I’m so impressed with your accent, it’s soo good! Don’t feel bad or embarrassed with your tias speaking Spanish, me encantó!
SO CUTE
I love that chris speaks spanish with ian’s accent 🥺🥰
2:33 *it's so cute how Chris immediately shuts up to let his boyfriend speak lmao*
The last frase is "Y recuerden concentrarse en su Florecimiento"
Enfocarse is a better word for focus 🙂
"I don't like to see them"
"Because you're pregnant"
This video took a turn that I was not expecting 🤣
I actually repeated that giggle myself a few times before Ian said they should put a reply of it 😂
And Chris's screams of joy are really contagious !! Makes me smile and happy every time
💖
Fun fact: "Embarazada" means pregnant, but "embarazoso" means "embarrasing".
Also, where I live (Colombia), we understand when people from other countries use "pena" meaning "pity" or "sadness" (and sometimes we use it for that too), but we mostly use "pena" to express embarrasment or fear to be embarrased. "Me da pena hablar en público", for example.
I was about to say this! haha! I think the difference would be if you say Me da pena, which, as you said is to express embarrassment, as opposed to Siento pena, which would be more like pity, right?
I was getting my own self confused! You are absolutely right. Thanks
Wow, here in brazil "pena" is used to "pity " or "sadness" and also "feather"
In Honduras too, we understand both meanings and uses.
Hey!! Honduran here!!! Y si, el acento hondureño es HERMOSO and super underrated. Y aquí en Honduras usamos el "vos" en vez del "tú". 😊💖
Hey guys! Huge fan here from Argentina 🇦🇷🙋🏻♂️ • as a native speaker just wanted to say that Ian's killing it in Spanish. Ian sounds exactly the same on both languages, that's incredible, since bilinguals usually somehow sound compleatly different when they switch
Ian should feel proud of his Spanish and also Chris, he translated it pretty well.
Oh my God, this had me smiling the whole time, I love you guys and didn't know you were at least bilingual, you both did great. As a Salvadorian Spanish-native speaking myself, english as second language, working on my French and Italian, I enjoyed this way to much 🤗👏👏

10/10 would love to see more videos like this!! both of your Spanish is great!! nothing to be embarrassed about!!
Ese acento español de España, me ha dejado loco, y que hayas puesto una escena en la que hablan de por donde vivo ya ni te digo jajaja
As a Honduran, Honduran Spanish is really clean compared to a lot of countries. Your accent is actually really good so no need to be embarrassed!! :)
Ian is the funniest, most quick witted person that I’ve ever seen... Cracks me up everytime!! 😂😂😂😂
Regards from Australia 🇦🇺

Oh my God. Ian's stubble is to die for. Love you guys!
I’m here to say that Ian did us DIRTY knowing this well Spanish and not saying anything. On the other side Chris sis you’re doing GREAT! We love 💜
Ian!!!! Please don’t feel embarrassed you speak great Spanish!!! It breaks my heart because my kids feel the same way and that stops them from keep practicing!! I wish I could convince them that they shouldn’t feel that way! Like your mom I never judge them just try to correct them!

In the Philippines, in our regional language at least, we still use "graduar" which means "to graduate from school".
Ian's accent is the best thing that I've heard omg I love it
I’m 100% Honduran, I have a different accent when I speak English and Spanish!!! Our Spanish is very well spoke but a bit fast-ish when having a full conversation.
Miren ahí, hablan demasiado bien el español. Felicidades!!! Nunca dejen de aprender esta maravillosa lengua que es el español ❤️❤️
as an international couple (and one of us is from Spain!) this is so interesting to watch! you guys are super cute together 😍
I love the Selena moment 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 congratulations 🎊🍾🎈🎉 on graduating Chris !!!
I’m french and I can say that the few words you said were in such a good accent!!
that's crazy cos I always assumed Ian was French. but when he panics or gets flustered, I definitely see a latina aunt in him coming out. muy muy adorable.
This Video is amazing to watch because i learn spanisch in school and I unterstand most of it because you speak Slow (for spanisch speaking people). I never understand Spanish people because they speak soooo fast! I loved the video!
I’m from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 (spanish speaking country in the Caribbean) and your Spanish is just amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ian, your Spanish is beautiful! No need to be self conscious. Y’all are adorable!! I love this video!!
I from Colombia and just can I say that your Spanish its better than I thought. Love you Congratulations
Ian- I can completely relate. I feel comfortable speaking Spanish with my parents. It’s when I’m with family that I feel like my Spanish is criticized consistently. But I’m trying to work on speaking more.
Los amo, son lo mejor. Vosotros sois tan divertidos
You sound so great in Spanish Ian 💜 love you guys!
Los dos se oyen hermosos. Deberían de hacer mas videos en español like challenges in Spanish. 😊
