    Yes! Yes! Yes! That's EXACTLY what I'd love to have: a very big 21:9 Micro-LED display! I find the format so much more immersive than regular 16:9 and with large sizes, the pillarbox you'd get on these with 16:9 content by no means bothers me as much as letterbox on a 16:9 screen with 21:9 content. And since it's Micro-LED, the pillarboxes would be inky black anyway - invisible in darkened room. The vast majority of films and even many contemparory tv series are shot in 21:9 and they'd look fantastic on a screen like this. And regular widescreen or IMAX sequences would still look very good. It would also be a great additional incentive to upgrade to 8K, just like HDR and Dolby Vision enhanced 4K resolution.

    • @notsorandumusername
      @notsorandumusername День назад +1

      @@ahmet_10 why are you mocking him? He's actually right. Cinema's need to vastly improve their picture quality: mid-range OLED's and even mini-led tv's outperform the picture quality in most cinema's due to their outdated digital projection technology. Dolby Vision and IMAX are somewhat better, but regular / smaller cinema's would be much better off installing a large micro-led video wall. It would also solve aspect ratio issues since each pixel can be shut off for absolute blackness anyway. The current outdated lackluster projection systems in most cinemas with their dim, low-contrast fuzzy picture without even basic HDR needs to go away. And for the afficionados keep some classic film projection alive, just like some prefer the distortion of vinyl over digital, that's all fine, but please let the rest of us move on to and unlock the far greater range digital has to offer.

    • @ahmet_10
      @ahmet_10 День назад

      @notsorandumusername no need for dolby vision, you need proper 4000 nits content, it is impossible right now, plus woled panels are not enough for dolby vision, samsung is doing right, still we have hdr10+

    • @notsorandumusername
      @notsorandumusername День назад +1

      @ahmet_10 nonsense. Dolby Vision is excellent and better than HDR10, the "+" ripp off Samsung made is just there because they dont want to pay the license fee to Dolby. 4000 nits disc exist and the mastering would be easy for professional studios. Their preferred Sony professional reference monitor also supports 4000 nits. Dolby Vision goes up to 10,000 nits and micro-led will support even that.

    • @ahmet_10
      @ahmet_10 День назад

      @notsorandumusername you are just ignorant who doesn't know anyting about dolby vision, woled panels primitive, dolby vision doesn't make sense at todays' world, you just need too much nits at qd oled tv, not woled, you are delusional

    Any entry my Samsung has to have Dolby Atmos video/audio or people will avoid it as hdr10+ isn’t as good and limited support on media platforms for high quality content I’m not interested in 144inch display but 65 or 75 only or it’s just to big for many living rooms and running costs being all g rated

    Why why why is there a drive towards such odd screen ratios? I mean really, 16:9 seemed random when it came out, and 21:9 is just as random. A simpler solution is a basic 2:1 screen ratio, which basically splits the difference. A lot of RUclips content creators are using a 2:1 ratio in their content these days, and it looks so much more natural to the human eye vs. 16:9 or 21:9. Plywood and drywall, which are two of the most common building materials use a 2:1 ratio (4'x8'). It's such an efficient size ratio, and was figured out so many years ago in the construction market. Why the consumer display market can't figure that out is beyond me...

    we want smaller sizes not different shapes, this isnt going mainstream anytime soon sadly, not until it hits 3k for a 55inch, one other issues with this tech is that it will be the last TV you'll ever need for most people so how will they add value to prompt upgrades in the future, for instance i've now had my OLED nearly 10 years and still dont think I need to upgrade.

    • @indeans48
      @indeans48 День назад +1

      Literally all I’ve been asking the last few years is wider ratios in a flat panel. A decent sized 21:9 OLED might be the only thing that could ever tempt me away from a CIH projector setup.

      @floz9718 День назад +2

      Well in that case you definitely are missing out ;) They made big strides in terms of improving the Oled technology in last few years. A flagship Oled TV of today is A LOT better than a 10 year old one. the early Oleds had many issues/growing pains whereas modern Oleds are very, very good an are able to deliver a picture quality very close to a professional mastering monitor.

    • @McKluskie
      @McKluskie День назад

      @@floz9718 surprisingly its not really, if you put on a 4k bluray the only difference you see is in brightness brightness, i'm not missing enough to justtify the purchase.
