Aron talked about replacing the AGC buckles with autolock ones. You will need to order BOTH the Male Autolock, set of 4 (#AUTO101) and the Slotted Female Buckle, set of 4 (BUSL101). The autolock male will not fit in the factory AGC female buckle. Male was $7 and female was $5 for a set of 4. Thank you Kifaru for great customer service!
Thanks for the input. I have the badlands bino harness and like it. I used it on a dozen or so hunts this year, but want a bino harness that I mount my phone on the top.
I have the Alaska guide creations one and love it for rifle hunting and back country hikes but it is a little bulky for September bow hunting, hoping to pick up the Sitka one next.
I used a FHF for my Swaros and its a great harness. Downside was that it is an open design, but never had any issues. Because they are always on backorder (out of stock), got my purchase price when I sold them. Moved to AGC for the extra storage and full protection. Also, AGC has the similar hook and elastic cord closure as the FHF. Either one is a winner depending on your needs and tastes.
I've been looking for a Bino harness, the Alaska guide is one I am looking at, I kinda wanna attach my camera to it somehow though, maybe a clip to the strap...
Horn hunter bino hub not noisy for a magnet closing setup and it has a attach point for range finder plus storage. good quality material check them out...
Geenyusss right there...'it'll take an Act of God and Congress...' 'Unobtainium'...today's Snyderisms. Really useful insights to good and not so good...I'm running the old Badlands Bino Vault so magnet is a no-no, as I'm old school landnav like Aron..so I may be looking towards the AGC when I need to run a compass. Thanks Team GB
Have I told you guys that my wife hates you?! It's because of you two that I'm finally getting a bow. Every time you do a gear review I show it to her and tell her "see I have to have it"..... 😁
I have tried a number of harnesses, and I have settled on the Alaska Guide harness (Kodiak Cub). My issue is, which is not exclusive to this system, is that, even when I tighten up the system (I like the bino harness high on the chest), it slides down when I am hiking . . . like always . . . My hack on this really works well, though . . . I used a double whistle lanyard under the "top strap loops", up to the clips on my pack straps (I use a Barney's of Alaska system that I "mostly" use - but also have the Kifaru system too which has clips that would also work on the shoulder straps). Thus keeps the binocs up high and close to the body, but keeps the weight and the edge of the back strap off my neck. Like Aron, I also keep a bunch of stuff in the Kodiak Cub - including my bino tripod adaptor, head lamp, etc.
I've tried all of them, Marsupial gear is the best in my opinion. FHF is a close second. AGC is way too bulky to use for archery. badlands is low quality. sitka, Mystery Ranch, kuiu are decent.
That is the company that badmouths Aron occasionally. Don't look for unbiased Kuiu reviews. I'm sure he could do it unbiased,...but I don't think that'll happen.
I like kuiu and their clothing but to be honest I have their bino harness and I am going to switch. It is noisy and squeaks as you walk and difficult to get your binos out of.
D Thughes type in kuiu and rokslide on Google, basicly a simple statement or question went sour a few years ago, and the constant bashing that jason does of other legendary companies, it's gets old, i get it poor man needs hunting cloths too we can't afford a 10,000 dollar layering system but REI has just as good as prices on cloths then kuiu. Its just the way he runs his company that turn people away.
I love both my Badlands harnesses. They have been bulletproof and comfortable.

I am curious about those auto lock buckles. Granted, I haven't done a lot of looking but I did spend a few minutes without much luck...

I love my Alaskan Guide bono harness especially all of he extra pockets! It's a vast improvement over an unshielded bono buddy strap!
Alaska Guide Creations all the way boys. Had. My K.I.S.S for all 4 years love it added a Razco Bino chest holster and dang is it sick!!!!!
I have two AGC’s now and have a razco on order.
What do i have to do as a public servant to come hunt with you or atleast in your big nature back yard
How do you do the autolocks on the AGC?
I've been looking for a Bino harness, the Alaska guide is one I am looking at, I kinda wanna attach my camera to it somehow though, maybe a clip to the strap...

Adding tri glides to the AGC harness also work to stop the sliding. Shout out to rokslide for the tip.
You should do an optics maintenance podcast
Agreed!

Aron mentioned a harness at 2:08, but can't make it out. Which one is that. Also, any experience with FHF harness?
I think he said muley freak.
Great insight thanks guys.

Are the alps bino harness good
why doesn't Kifaur make one?
tim berg amen
Did you listen to / watch the podcast where he answers that question?
Brendan Mulcahy. yes i did, but i asked the question before i got to the end.
Aaron.....Build one at Kifaru!!!!!!
Walter Reese Been waiting for Kifaru to build a chest rig for binos/camera for a long time. Hopefully they will someday.
Fast forward 6 years and there it is.
Not too impressive imo 😂
How do I get a job doing what you all do?
Amazing! You can turn an 8 minute review into 40 minutes!

Great topic well covered. Great podcast.
Luke Johnson and
What about Kuiu?

Would be good to see images of the items you are reviewing?
So what company does Aaron not like?
xxbryan715xx I'm guessing KUIU. Still not quite sure why. He never goes in depth about it and I've always been curious.
xxbryan715xx kuiu
I like kuiu and their clothing but to be honest I have their bino harness and I am going to switch. It is noisy and squeaks as you walk and difficult to get your binos out of.

"A guy hunting out of the truck...a guy hunting in Alberta". Are you saying we don't wilderness hunt in Alberta :)

Here is another consideration.... so many harnesses, so little time!
Intress
I Aron talking about Kuiu who bashes him?
Travis Scott pretty sure. There's a few things on rokslide about it
I'm frigging lost...who's communiski?
I think he is talking about Kuiu
John M oh no shit! Now that makes sense. Thanks brother.
