How much setback does your clipper blade need | Sharp Edges

Hello, groomers.
This is Jessie with Sharp Edges in Oklahoma.
And today I wanted to talk about the setback on your clipper blades.
Now, setback is important because it determines the flow rate of the hair between the teeth on the clipper blade.
Ideally, you want approximately one to one and a half credit card widths of setback and you want it to be straight.
If it's angled, you take a chance of it overlapping the blade and cutting a dog. It also affects the feed rate and it can give you a choppy cut if it's not set straight.
Now, I want to bring you up here and I'm going to show you what the setback looks like.
Zoom in here and you'll see what I see when I look at it when I'm putting these blades together. Get right in there.
You go straight about the width of a credit card. Credit and a card and a half. That's a good setback rate.

By far the best vids about sharpening on the internet. Sitting in front of my brand newCS-201 with every accessory needed. Just need to find my confidence to flip that switch on. Here in M.A. there is an untapped opportunity I truly believe for clipper and shears. Thanks buddy. Wish I could get your advice on my first clipper set?
