I saw Franc and this cast at the Curran theater in S.F. Christmas week, 1995. One of my best and most solemn memories. I was in San Francisco to honor my father upon his passing. He introduced me to the arts and the Phantom. Even though I was by myself it was a great day.
Saw Franc and Lisa 8-10 times during their run in San Francisco at the Curran Theater. Never saw a production that topped this one. Was lucky enough to take a tour backstage and sit in the loge. Met Franc. Seems like a wonderful person.
So happy to have found this! Franc was the first Phantom I saw live and I loved his performance. The chemistry between him and the actress playing Christine here is wonderful.

I personally wanted Timothy Nolen or Placido Domingo to do the role as phantom in the final year. It seemed like francs voice was getting weaker, which must be from the years of doing the role straight Timothy is actually really loved in SF, he was one of the principals at the SF opera for many years!
The man who introduced me to Phantom and musical theater as a whole. May I ask where you obtained this because I would trade/pay an exorbitant amount of money for this. Thank you for sharing this scene. It took me back to being 12 again.
Lisa Vroman is a phenomenal talent. Lovely to watch. I think her costar might be a lovely man irl, but I'm not a fan at all of his portrayal or performance as the Phantom. He overacts and his voice is way too Panaro for anyone to whom that is not their cup of tea. He's quite niche. So no hate directed at those who like this. I just wanted to share my thoughts.
I have to say Franc D'Ambrosio and Christopher Carl had some of the best deformity prosthetics in my opinion.
They had the best in San Francisco during those years (make-up artists).
I love how Franc speaks the words 'Christine, I love you" in addition to singing. Haven't seen other Phantoms who do that.
