I admire how Danny encourages Sam to not trust anybody including himself, even though he knows he isn't the killer he didn't want Sam taking any chances and to do the best she can to keep herself safe even if it meant pushing him away. He definitely didn't take it the wrong way unlike Liv who basically overreacted when Chad accused her of being the killer.
