With the harley you're basically paying for the brand. That suzuki you have is a better bike in every way.

I agree 100% I have a 95 Suzuki intruder vs800 and it will outperform any Harley I come across at a fraction of the cost

3:30.. where I live the prices to ride a bike is this.
    Motorcycle Written test: $16
Motorcycle skills test with bike rental: $70.
    Annual insurance: $175
Plate and registration w/park pass: $38. And I did it in less than 30 days from start to finish , making all the appointments was the most difficult from Covid 19. Everything is backed up and new systems are in place to speed life bike up.

Don't feel so bad. I had exactly the same thing happen to me. My bolt was still in there by a couple of threads. Hope you are enjoying the bike now.

I had the exact same problem last year with my 1400 Intruder (1996). The "Click" sounded familiar and it was the same bolt missing on the front brake caliper. Don´t know how this happened, luckily I had a friend in the next city and we could fix it (more or less improvised, the bolt we took didn´t really fit at all but was good enough to drive back home, but now its fixed with a fitting bolt).
But I still love my Intruder 1400. Great Bike. Looking forward to this summer. Greetings from Germany!

Had the same thing happen to me on my van a few months back. Quiet terrifying when you’re doing 70 down the interstate and they bolt flys out!

Did a suspension service on the forks of a vs800 two weeks ago and some other things... after the work was done, I screwed everything together, sat on it and did a larger and FAST testride on it. When I came back my friend and owner of the bike also did a testride, came back and we noticed that the forks were leaking, so we went and started to take them out again to re-do the service and check everything. That was the moment I saw that the Friggn bolts that clamps the forktubes in the (Don't know how it's called in englisch) Forkholder (where the handlebar is mounted on.. :D ) were missing. So nothing was actually holding the tubes thight and if we had to brake a little harder on the front, the tubes simply would've jumped out in our directions! The thought of what've could go wrong scared the shit out of me. Also it is a bolt with a 1.25 thread and not one shop in our area got one like that on stock. The bolts on the Brakecaliper are the same btw...
So.. nice videos! I also changed my last bike (XV 535) for a VS1400 Highway Edition last week and I am REALLY happy with it. Already consumed most of your videos to see how suzuki built the engine or installed the carburators and what not.. this is always a good start before you work the first time for yourself on the bike.
    Greetings from germany!

WOW! That is a scary thought brother! The one saving grace you have with the TRIPLE TREE (Fork Holder ;) on the 1400 is that the top tree has a ridge, so if god forbid the bolts on the lower tree were to come loose, the forks would not come up through the top of the tree/yoke ;) - Hope the videos are serving their purpose for you brother! Lots more on the way. Thank you for the support!

    Hi there,
    I really enjoy your videos.
    I’m considering buying a 1992 Suzuki vs 800 Intruder.
    Similar to your vs1400??
In your opinion, are these bikes reliable or a nightmare (or somewhere in between)??
I’d really appreciate your imput, I am in the UK also.
    Many thanks
    Marcus

Hi, in your experience, what is the top speed I can get on a 1400 Intruder 1995? No modifications original stuff, it has 32000 miles. Also, do you have any video to remove the original exhaust?
    Thanks

Probably could have got to the top of the speedo at 120 but I wasn't comfortable on the suspension

Damns, sure is expensive to get a license to ride in the UK! The course I took cost $250, plus the less than $100 for the license, I was riding the bike legally that same day. Cool story! It's my dream to get a VTX 1800, like the one I almost bought before deciding on my neighbor's 2007 S83 with only 9500 mi.

    •  4 года назад

It really is so expensive here, the UK keep changing the laws in regards to what age you have to be aswell it's ridiculous in so many ways. BUT, it's done now, no restrictions on what I can ride anymore which was always the goal :)

@@Logitsshit! it is $17 in Indiana for the written test, which gives you a 1-year learners permit. The limitations of the permit are: no passenger, must wear a helmet, cannot ride in the night. When you feel ready, you pay another $50 for the riding test (they are being run by some companies), and you get the license.

Don't wish to appear picky however licence rules are a bit more complex than you say... it depends on age ie AM is 50 cc if you are 16 or older, A1 a 125 if you're 17 or over, A2 limits you to 35kw if you're 19 or over, A is any bike if you're 24 or over. There are other rules like if you've been riding since you were 16 you can ride any bike at age 21 if you've progressed correctly instead of waiting until you are 24. Nice bike btw😇

It shouldnt really blow my mind that the Uk has stupid ass laws with the cmt or whatevr then having to get a unrestricted licenses.
But here in America we have out road classes with 200s.
We have hundred and hundreds of videos saying dont get a 250 its to small.
Tons of videos sayin get a liter bike for a first bike.
And your price to get a full license what the actual fuckkkkk.
    Road course is 300 American.
The test if you dont do a course is under 50 bucks. And thats it
I feel soo sorry for you guys honestly.

    •  5 лет назад

It is insane brother, the actual test is ironically the cheapest part, but without at least 3 days of training, for new riders with limited experience it is almost impossible to pass the theory and practical tests, hence the training courses.
