Years ago, I heard a tip that always helps me: don't buy anything unless you know exactly where you're going to put it, and how you're going to use it. Container Concept is very helpful, too!
This was a wonderful video for me Hannah, as I too am going through my home and decluttering and organizing. It always creates a sense of peace once things are in order, but also to know that you are living a well intentioned life. I too have been amazed at how much I have gotten rid of already, and I don't miss it at all. Having things more minimal and simplified I believe creates peace of mind, and at the same time enables us to bless others with what we donate. I look forward to your next video. Blessings!
Hi Hannah, I enjoy watching your videos. Personally I'm at an age where I don't need much. Meaning whatever I have is enough to hold me until it's time to go home or the Lord comes. Whenever I feel the urge to buy something, I think hard if I need it or not. Will I be using it a lot? If later on I decide to get rid of it, the price I pay today, will it hurt to get rid of or not? That is one good reason not to buy when I could use the money going out with my kids or giving myself a treat of some sort other than house items. I try to shop online. That way, I put things in a cart and leave it there. After a month, I go back and see if I really need it or if I lose interest in it. That way, it never makes it home, and the feeling of shopping is gone.
Thanks for the motivation on decluttering i have been work on decluttering what i need to and it always makes me feel like i have so much when somwtimes i don't does that make any sense? Thanks for always thw motivation may the Lord bless you and you family.
They are, but if they install one of those flat ones they can still gain all that space behind it and not lose it 🤷👍… but like I say it would have to be one of the flat ones only otherwise it wouldn’t work.
I have been decluttering and spring deep cleaning since January. It has made a big difference! My husband and I are in our late 70’s and we are using the Swedish Death Cleaning method. I have also labeled everything that is a family heirloom. I have reorganized & labeled all containers to make everything easy for us to find. Love your channel ❣️
Hannah, you are always an inspiration. Great tips. I always go through my cart just before I go to checkout. Sometimes there are things in I need but I feel too expensive, so I remove them. I am careful now with buying foods on sale. If they are not going to be used before the expiry date, don't buy them. You are better off paying regular price if the expiration date is longer. Also, many sale items usually go bad as soon as they are brought home, such as produce. Levi sure is growing fast. He tries to help and finds play in doing it. ❤
It's helpful to watch you decluter, as I have to go through all my things too, but had no motivation whatsoever. Now you helped me start with my wardrobe. So thank you, Hanna, for sharing your day with us and giving us the boost we certainly needed! ❤😊💯💖
I put a small towel under the toothbrushes. this way, I can just throw it in the wash if there is toothpaste on it and dont have to clean the container. ;)
I can't believe how much 'extra' stuff accumulates so quickly!! I've heard it said that if you haven't worn or used it in over a year, it's time to let it go!!😊 I bargain shop thinking I need something, but in the end never use it- lesson learned 👍 Thanks for the great tips Hannah❤
Hi Hannah, great decluttering tips. I will soon be decluttering my closets soon. This was such a nice video thank you so much for all your great ideas.😊
I was searching for a decluttering video to get me motivated and in my mind I said “ it would be nice if I could find one from hannah!” And suddenly i saw your video! The excitement I felt 😅 Thank you ! this will get me motivated 🫶🏼
Hi Hanna 😊 I started my declutter project already, and you are right we have sooo many things that we can donate, can wait for your video next week ☺️ lots of Blessings
Hello Hannah!!! Very motivating video!!! We do accumulate alot of stuff each year!!! January is the perfect month to declutter. Thanks for inspiring us to get rid of stuff!!! I love thrifting but the last two years I always ask myself these questions: where will you put it and is it a necessity!!! It helps to keep me grounded!!! Take care and God bless!!!
When I shop on Amazon I put items in my cart and then I leave it for a few days. Usually I end up taking most if not all of the items out of my cart after a few days have passed. I'm not sure why it works but somehow I lose interest after a few days lol
Very helpful video, Hannah! I need to go through my entire house as well as we are moving soon. BTW, Levi is getting so tall! Thank you for your motivation! ❤
Hi Hannah, where did you get your baby's carrier backpack? I am looking for a good one for my 20-month-old. Something I can throw on to do housework, cooking, and hiking. Thank you!
A nice big pile of trash/donate/other! It does make life easier to have less. But I know that’s hard with 3 kids. I just finished binge watching every episode of every season of Hoarders from Amazon Prime TV. It was free but there were ad breaks. Some patterns I noticed: • Hoarders rarely have OTHER vices - the shopping and hoarding ARE their vices. • The main source of their problem aside from not throwing anything out is their ACQUIRING of stuff, either through retail shopping, flea markets, dollar stores, yard sales, thrift stores or actual dumpster diving. • Hoarding gets worse with age and especially with the onset of dementia. • There are five (5) stages of hoarding. A big sign that things are going south is when certain rooms meant for one thing can no longer be used that way, or at all. • It’s not until Stage 4 or 5 that there are rats or roach infestations. Rat poop renders any item as trash and unsalvageable, even if the hoarder thinks it can be washed and donated. Such items should be handled with gloves, face masks and possibly hazmat suits due to the risk of inhaling Hantavirus. • Most hoarders had childhood trauma, a major loss such as a relationship, career or person they loved. They may have had hoarding tendencies before, but they got worse after the trauma or loss. • Hoarding USED to be associated with OCD, but now it is its own separate mental health category. • Talk therapy is recommended, although the rate of its success is very LOW. But therapy is still the only treatment ever suggested. • My take is that Hoarding can from something OTHER than a mental health issue: it can be a spiritual problem. If we don’t trust God to supply our needs according to His riches in Glory (Heaven), then we will try to acquire everything under our own power only. If we fear lack or poverty, we might over-buy. • Hoarders value their stuff more than family or relationships. • They get very stubborn and angry if anyone says they should part with anything. They will have a tantrum or throw a fit or cut someone out of their life over a treasured object. They use tantrums to control others and make them leave them alone. They will even go into the trash to retrieve something a household member threw out. They believe their family members want them to get rid of all of their belongings.
Do not buy impulse items unless u have a particular spot 2 put it. Always make a list when going shopping and Always stick 2 up 2 avoid buying items not needed that turns into clutter later on
Im a subscriber who looks forward to your videos but it seems that every other video or two is about decluttering. The makeover content is so much more enjoyable.
Glad you enjoy the makeover content! I try to put out a variety, since there’s a lot of people who only watch Declutter & organize and then some who only enjoy makeovers😊
Music varies depending what mood I'm in😄Usually a variety of different Christian music. I enjoy the Ramsey show Podcast (currently looking for more podcasts) and I will listen to RUclips videos as well

The wall you are closing up; I would open it up inside your closet so that you don't lose all that space.
What a genius idea 🧠!!! 😂❤🎉
I believe they are installing a fireplace in that space.
They are, but if they install one of those flat ones they can still gain all that space behind it and not lose it 🤷👍… but like I say it would have to be one of the flat ones only otherwise it wouldn’t work.
@@Loveofdecoratingyea if we ever get around to installing the fireplace lol😅 we would still have the space behind we could open if we wanted
