His MW reign didn’t last long due to Jacob’s and GGG being the only real competition. Charlo and Andrade were nothing but frauds imo and Canelo would’ve stopped both.. especially a MW Canelo who had it all
From skillful young prospect into a fighter with brilliant combinations, a hard punch and a much improved defense. Now a one shot at a time walk em down and never mixing up his punch speed or power. Gotta say tho …. he’s the money man and still has great head movement and power.
2011-2013 Canelo is my favorite. 2018-19 is what I’d say is his best. Beat GGG, Jacobs, and Kovalev. A P4P tier win, an elite tier win, and a victory over a washed fighter but nonetheless jumping two weight classes to defeat a bigger fighter. Beat a nothing fighter in fielding during the middle of that run, but was an impressive demolition.
Seeing him box at middleweight was a thing of beauty with the exception of the first golovkin fight. Truly underestimated Triple G. Canelo thought, "older man, I can take him out in a few rounds". He was dead wrong.
canelo is a hard puncher and facing someone who seems not that troubled by your punches must have been curious for him. I remember is corner telling him "stop trying to ko him!"
It's interesting how Canelo almost circled back to where he began style wise. Using the guard/flatfooted approach was what he did in the early days. But it makes sense. He's got knockout power but he's older. Needs to conserve energy. It's hard to do that when you're dancing around and bobbing and weaving all over the place. Super Middleweight. His methodical pressuring style at this weight reminds me of Chavez at times. Yeah, he’s combinations were gone but his shots became much more clinical with deadly accuracy. Not to mention his iq and his body work are as sharp as ever.

Lost of prospects loose and they just wast the money and don’t improve. Canelo after loosing to Floyd because greater that ever. It surpassed everyone’s expectations. Just enjoy his last fight. We won’t have a great champion like him in a long time. One that take challenge after challenge.
can he keep going up in weight and continue to rely on that unbreakable iron chin?
Can we see a Beterbiev match to continue testing that chin?
you didn’t cover welterweight?
GGG won his first fight with Canelo, draw in the second.
Smoking. He beat ggg up both fights look at ggg face. Canelo made him hot gloves and air a lot of the night
@@Daboyriccofinally first fight was a defensive master class and canelo had the cleaner better punches smh it was drawl at worse or 7-5 canelo and second fight was easy 7-5 canelo
I see Alvarez giving 175 another go if he continues to dominate 168. Bivol was a bad style for him. That performance was an outlier that must be isolated. Bivol is the best pure boxer today a style that has always troubled Alvarez
I'd put money on Canelo beating Beterbiev...and against Bivol I think he has a chance if he adapts to 175 better... I mean it's ALWAYS going to be a tough night bc Bivol WONT brawl with Canelo ..and doesn't bite on feints really.
@@thediaz07I’d like to see that matchup with Beterbiev. Guy with 100% KO rate vs guy with one of the strongest chins
@@Tdzzz450 people think that Canelo can't beat Beterbiev just bc Canelo lost to Bivol...for one Canelo wasnt accustomed to the weight properly against Bivol. 2 Canelos hand was messed up. Fun fact Canelo tried fighting Beterbiev prior to Kovalev.. Beterbiev declined.
Styles make fights and I do believe Canelo can stick and move on Artur.
@@thediaz07 didn’t he fight Kovalev and KOed him in the same weight class? I’d like to see Canelo’s chin tested on a guy with 100% KO rate
@@Tdzzz450 yes he did ..but if you notice Canelo in the Bivol fight got a bit gassed in the 9th-12th round. Supposedly Canelo was on a Vegan diet and that could've affected him .. Canelo didn't make that excuse but the fans are coming up with that conclusion.
Canelo punches arms because he’s trying to break em’
