San Diego's 2 Tallest Waterfalls & California's Best Pie

- Cedar Creek Falls and Mildred Falls are the two tallest waterfalls in San Diego. Cedar Creek Falls is a popular hiking trail that requires a permit, but Mildred Falls is out in the backcountry of San Diego and many people don't even know that it exists (even though it is San Diegos tallest waterfall). In this video I visit both of the waterfalls and then stop at the pie shop that Yelp said was the best in California in 2022. Let me know what you think in the comments!

I live at the trail head of Cedar Creek falls. Thanks for coming to our neck of the woods and making such a nice video of our backyard. Glad you made it up to our little sister Santa Ysabel for arguably the best pie in the WORLD. All the best!

First of all we love your show. And we love Julian. Our favorite is The Julian pie company. There are 2 a really small one towards the left of the main stop sign. The second or first as your driving to Julian is also by the stop sigh in I think Santa Isabel. This one is large on the right. We will try yours next time.

Hiked Cedar creek before, great time! I can see the trail head from my driveway. I can attest to the warning about hiking when it's hot. So many people try it and many get airlifted out, bring lots of water! Enjoy
We ride from Vegas to Julian just for the pie. Our favorite is the Julian Pie Company in Julian. Your pie looks good but you’re missing the ice cream and homemade whip cream. Next time try the Julian Pie Company🥧

Merigan Trail in Descanso CA- a bit out of the way you have to go to the left off a beaten path 1/4 mile down the trail but beautiful double water fall! Seasonal, so a spring hike as usual in SD…. Very easy to do so great hike for kids and elderly folks! Was able to get a decent off road stroller down there.

Hiked Cedar Creek a few times. Freaking love it ❤, seen too many snakes 🐍 there tho 😅. Had no idea about that second waterfall, WOW 🤩. Great shots on that by the way. Definitely adding Mildred Falls to my list ✔️

We had just gotten pie from Julian. I'd give it a solid 9.8 as well. Hummm, Maybe the next time we are in the area we'll have to try CA Mountain Bakery...

Personally I like Mom's Apple pie on Main St. the most, the Back Alley pies(across the street from Mom's) are pretty good as well, both beat the Julian Apple Pie company in Santa Ysabel but it has been a few years since I was last there so I don't know the place you were at, it must be relatively new. I moved out of the San Diego area almost 4 years ago but I spent my first 62 years living in the east county of San Diego for the most part.
One of these days I want to get a slice from all of those spots and then try all of them to see my favorite.

what may rival the title of tallest waterfall in San Diego County is the lower giant in the magnificent Sill Hill Gorge, an upper tributary of Boulder Creek. nice show thanks.

During my Julian trip I tried julian pie company and moms and enjoyed julian pie company more. All the locals say the place you tried is the best pie in town

Dutch in "Dutch Apple Pie" actually means "German". So it's "German Apple Pie", not Dutch, referring to Holland.
