ASUS N56VZ Take Apart and Reassemble

  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your ASUS N56VZ laptоp apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, be aware that keyboard is like one piece with palmrest and it is practically not removable. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They can be different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    Have fun and good luck!!

    Got +87C temps during gaming, then i decided to pull apart my nv56vz laptop and clean some dust. Got this video under my eyes and got terrified how hard it really is! Got black screen too! But i forgot connect my screen cable, took apart again. ITS PAIN IN ASS, to put the cable properly placed, be careful to not rape it between screwholes! Thanks for the video! Now +81C temps under gaming, it really expands the lifetime for the parts.

    To unplug and plug the speakers and LCD cables easier there is a small hatch under the battery, towards the center of the laptop. Just pull it out the there are two holes for LCD and speakers cables

    Hey man! Nice video, was helpful when I was cleaning my gf's laptop!
    But here's the question - when you took it apart - did you see any additional RAM slots? Task Manager says that 2/4 slots are filled and that's also suggested by HWinfo (says rows 0 and 2 are filled, which suggests there are also rows 1 and 3). Usually they reside on the other side of the mobo under the keyboard, but that particular spot is not clearly visible at 11:12 because it either gets cut off or obscured by your write-up and hands... So... is there anything?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Nice video, but for me there is a critical part of your video from around 5:25 where you're removing the back/bottom of the laptop and the action goes off camera. I need to see better where you applied pressure in order to separate the back/bottom from the rest of the laptop. Any clues?

    I'd like to upgrade my ASUS N56VZ (This same one) current DVD drive for a Blu-ray Writer drive... As there are quite a few types of drives out there, I am not sure which type is the right one, and I don't want to spend more than $80.00 for something it won't work. What are the specs I need to look for? Size, Connectors, etc. Please guide me in the right direction.
    Excellent video.

    Thank you for this video! One comment though. I also took apart a N56VZ laptop, and the design of the LCD Cable from 34:31 to 35:00 is horrible on ASUS' part for servicing. That cable wraps around screw holes, and trying to connect it with a 3 inch gap for our hand is just insanity. My LCD cable got sandwiched between one of those screw holes ( @ 34:55 ) and I screwed a screw in there, 3 days later the LCD cable melted and short-circuited right there. Just wanted to share my thoughts on ASUS' bad design for servicing. Thanks again!

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  9 лет назад

      PreZzO88 you are so right! So bad it happens to you! I hope you fixed everything that was broken or found something else.I like ASUS for some reason, but sometimes any laptop can be a pain to work on!I wish you a good luch with everything!Thank you!

    • @PreZzO88
      @PreZzO88 9 лет назад +1

      regazzz Yes! I bought a new LCD cable and took apart everything and put it all back together, it works fine! It took hours to shape the new LCD cable to fit perfectly like the old one, it was tedious but I'm very happy with the result :)

    • @jorickvandervlag7638
      @jorickvandervlag7638 9 лет назад

      PreZzO88 +PreZzO88 If you take away the large plastic part from the bottom, which covers the ram and the hdd/ssd. You find at the back of the LCD cable a small plastic part, which you can take away via the back. It's a "click" system. Then you can easily connect the two cables back again, the LCD cable and the audio cable I think.
      You can see the small plastic cover at 3:38, just under the battery connector!

      There is a single screw holding it in place. Once that screw is removed, it simply slides out like shown in this video. Inside, there is a connector that slides in and out of place.

    thx from Russia for your video . I saw it posted hinge. Explain please, it is the plastic part of the hinge connecting?

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  8 лет назад

      +Данил Погодин Привет, hinge переводится как петля и обычно их две и они соединяют нижнюю часть лэптопа с нижней. Верхняя часть состоит фактически нескольких частей. 1) Back Cover /Задняя крышка 2) Front Bezel / Передняя рамка 3) LED Screen / Экран 4) Hinge left and Right / Правая и левая петли 4) Video Cable /Видео кабель 5) Wifi Antenna / Антена ВайФай 6) WebCamera/ Веб Камера
      Так же у этого лэптопа были какие то резиновые заглушки серые.
      Так вот, если нужно добраться до петель, то с одной стороны они находятся внутры экрана а с другой они находятся в нутри основания. Чтобы добраться в верхнюю, надо снять рамку и тогда уже будет возможность их подкрутить (если они раскрутились а не пластик сломался там)
      Сейчас точно не скажу можно ли снять рамку без снятия всей верхней части, попробывать можно сначала так но если не получится то придется снять и тогда заняться верхней частью.
      Если же они разболтались внутри нижней части, то работы будет больше.
      Спрашивай что еще нужно, мне не сложно помошь как смогу.

    • @danil24rus
      @danil24rus 8 лет назад

      Спасибо огромное за такой ответ, вижу, что познания мои в английском скудны и вопрос не понят. Если коротко, то я хотел спросить имеют ли пластиковые части те самые петли, которые к рамке матрицы прикручены. Просто. мне друг прислал фото и сказал, что у него сломалась петля и там только пластик, pp.vk.me/c633920/v633920585/23e02/mn0bJeBJavU.jpg и я пытаюсь понять, что заказывать. Т.е это сломанное место часть петли или нет.

    Nice video. I wish I had seen it when I was replacing my DVD drive with an SSD. The connector the screen was first giving me a yellowish background, so I quickly redid it and it works fine now.
    I have only one question. My shift key stopped working on the left side of the keyboard. Is there some easy way to repair those? Or do I have to force the keys of individually and check if some hairs came under it for example?

      Где петли вкручиваются в основание лэптопа? Если все пластивковые сломанные части еще не потерялись, то можно в принципе все склеить хорошим клеем. Либо менять запчасть которая сломалась.

    I did this and got a bloody black screen, here's how I solved it, if it happens to you:
    First of all, keep calm, you probably didn't wipe your HDD if you're hearing small clicks.
    Connect your pc to another monitor(a TV is a monitor), and check if it displays a no signal message. If it doesn't, that means you did something wrong when connecting the monitor, like me and my stupid hand-eye coordination.
    If it does, there's still very little chance you actual bricked your laptop.
    If you don't want to open it up again right now and check the cables, you'll have to get to your desktop through memory. Once you do that, hit your monitor switch key (FN + F?). If you're using Windows 8, press the up or down arrow key and hit enter. If you can't see your desktop, repeat this process a few times. If this solution worked for you, that means you either connected your monitor cable wrong or you have a problem with your monitor.
