In this video I bring you an administration list of things to do upon your arrival in Hungary as the new intake of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, I added some personal tips here and there also do additional research & ask questions if you have any.

1. 4 passport size photos (home country, although you can get them In Hungary but it will save you time)
2. NEK identifier
3. Temporary student card
4. Public transport pass
5. Hungarian mobile number
6. Bank account
7. Residence permit
8. Tax number.

How much forints would you say one would need to survive for two months?

Hi Khomotso, I can’t really say because it depends where you live (renting + which district or dormitory). With dorm the money for accommodation is paid by the scholarship & is sufficient you just buy food but with rental accommodation you top up and it sometimes excludes utilities which are calculated at the end of the month.
For me I track my monthly spending on food: 40K monthly groceries (that’s my max), I top up veggies and fruits weekly:
20K (max) for meat, 5K for snacks. Those are the maximum amounts am willing to spend on, please check my grocery hacks video, rent I pay 80K + utilities, monthly pass =10K, data= 5 or 3K. With entertainment as well I try not to go overboard and I cook most of my meals.
