raphaella akl I did keto throughout the fasting so I wasn’t eating super Carby at night at all just healthy fats but I did hit a plateau a few times and I had no idea why it discourage the heck out of me the fact that I wasn’t eating but not losing weight but I started incorporating a few minutes more mins of exercising into that like in my living room I was doing about five minutes a day I know that sounds ridiculous but I was trying to keep it super practical but I changed it to about 10 minutes a day and I started losing weight again. The first time I did intermittent fasting which at the time it was like a crash diet thing for me the weight came off I was around 23 years old since then I’ve done it at least three times and this last time I swear it was the hardest hence I had to exercise in addition to the fasting. It’s been well over a year now and I’ve actually maintained my weight this last time and some body definition also that I’ve literally NEVER had lol

I am 70 years old and I have struggled with obesity for years. Four months ago I watched an interview to a top model and she talked about the intermittent fasting. I did my research and started my journey the same week. Twenty pounds and many inches are out of my body in only four months. I can’t say that it is a diet. It is an eating style. I eat a normal breakfast at 9 or 10 am. (Coffee, bread, eggs, cheese, juice). I eat moderately during the day and eat my last meal at 5:00pm, every day. It is not what you eat, it is when you eat!!!

      @mistermatsuda 6 лет назад +37

Yes, and the reason for that is because your body spends the time that you don't eat healing itself. Digestion slows the healing process and if you're eating throughout the day up until you sleep, some of the time sleeping is still digestion. If you IF, you'll find that many of your ailments disappear. Once your body gets used to it, it's very easy.

people over complicate things, it's really simple. When you eat, insulin goes up and starts to do it's job which is storing food/energy for later. When you don't eat and your insulin is down your body will burn fat for energy. Pretty basic idea to understand.

@@20-NYC if it puts body into starvation mode our species wouldnt be alive today. Feast and famine. It would take a lot longer than one day ot 16 hours for our bodies to go into starvation mode. The problem is we never give our bodies enough time to bring down glucose because we think we need breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert...we def did not have those opportunities before...the myths surrounding the statement of starvation mode was created by Big Food to keep.us buying their products.

That breakfast is the most important meal of the day is the biggest lie created by cereal companies. Most people are not even hungry in the morning, but they up their glucose level as soon as they open their eyes believing that they must have breakfast. Yes, breakfast is the most important meal, but you can break your fast at 12 or 2 or 4 or whenever you're hungry.

Mercedez_ Gets_fit Yes I started IF out of laziness. I hated running to the kitchen in the morning so I decided to skip breakfast. Then I realised I was feeling fitter. So I kept moving the time until I ended up eating 99% of the time just one meal per day. Then after about Two years I saw my hair gradually but steadily changing colour. I used to feel ashamed of exposing my hair. Now my hair is so tick, shiny, long and very dark with just two patches of gray on the side that is hardly visible. Pharmaceutical companies and the NWO western medicine will never tell you the truth because they don't know either.
I sleep like a baby. No single tablet in my cupboard. No doctors visit.
I am 55. Let he who has ears let him hear. Those who say breakfast is the most important meal I say power to you. Your family doctor will not follow you to your grave because that's where he is taking you.

for those saying this is a fad and that the way to lose weight is just to eat less: for starters fasting is NOT a fad. humans have been fasting for thousands of years. it is standard practice in many cultures. and if you research it you will discover why it is very effective for weight loss. secondly, trying to eat less every day does not work long term, especially if you have issues around food like out of control appetite and cravings. eric berg and darren schmidt explain all of this very well. do yourselves a favour and take a look at their RUclips channels.

I've done intermittent fasting and I've lost 40 pounds. I started fasting after 9PM each day until about noon the following day. In the morning I skip breakfast and exercise for 30 minutes on an empty stomach (aerobic exercise-walking, bicycle, etc.) I only drink water or black coffee prior to and after exercise. When you exercise on an empty stomach in the morning it throws your body into a state of ketosis and your body burns fat faster and continues to burn fat until you eat. That's right...even after stopping exercising your body continues to burn fat until you eat something. It's amazing! I then eat a normal lunch, a mid-afternoon snack, and normal supper (eat whatever I want). The results have been incredible and I've kept the weight off! My A1-C blood sugar levels have also normalized and my blood pressure has improved. P.S. It took a few weeks to get used to the fasting period each day but I've never been hungry since then and I don't miss skipping breakfast at all.

Zeyna Nd...I hope that schedule will work for you. One really good thing about intermittent fasting is that it is flexible in terms of what specific hours you choose for fasting. In my case, exercising in the morning for 30 minutes while fasting was the key component that helped me lose weight and keep it off. For some people, like the woman in the video above, fasting alone might be all that's needed. :)

    • @mazatano
      @mazatano 6 лет назад +11

Lol It's Shizzle...It took about 8 months to lose the 40 pounds. I lost about 1 to 1.5 pounds per week so it was a gradual process. I cut back on some processed/ pre-packaged foods but continued to eat pretty much anything else I wanted so that may have delayed the weight loss somewhat. After losing 40 pounds my body stopped losing weight at that point. That's normal. Your body will only lose so much weight and then stabilize at some point when enough excess fat is gone. I've continued the fasting and exercise daily to keep my body at that stable weight and it has been stable for almost a year.

Real food foods don’t require an ingredient list. Meats, real cheeses, fruits, vegetables, water, coffee and tea unsweetened, exercising and fasting!
No matter what I’m doing, where I travel, the occasion or holiday my eating doesn’t change! I eat only the foods mentioned or I fast! No calorie counting! I eat until don’t feel like eating anymore! If the foods I eat aren’t available I continue to fast! I’ve fasted for as long as three days!
I eat when I’m ready to eat! My breakfast is (Break Fast)! I don’t eat in the morning! Only black coffee and water!
No bread, pastas, pastries, rices, or potatoes!
I’ve not eaten any of these for over a year!
I don’t miss any of the foods I’ve eliminated!
    I don’t cheat with foods I’ve eliminated.
I don’t miss my 3xl shirts or 38 waist pants! I don’t even get on the scale anymore!
With real foods and real results! No ingredient list to read. When you eat real food you get real results!

Why is Joy Bauer on there talking about how hard cause it really isn't and you just make people not even try. Go 12 hours, 14 hours, 16 hours and then try a full day or do 5:2 (fast diet)... so instead of 3 days fasting, do 2. It's not that difficult. We've just bought in that it will be difficult when the truth is, its ALL IN YOUR HEAD! Like the woman said, give it 2 weeks and you'll see that it really isn't this massive difficult undertaking that you're making it out to be. IT IS WAYYYYY EASIER than low calorie and way more effective, satisfying, enjoyable and tastes sooo much better!!!

In 6 months I lost 35kg / 77 lbs by fasting 20 hours daily 6 days a week and 1 normal day. Alcohol was permitted whenever but limited to spirits, Prosecco and seltzers and I allowed myself McDonald's 1-2 a week. The beauty of intermediate fasting is that it is extremely flexible and you can edit it to suit your own wants. It works. I slept better, my memory improved, I was never tired and I was a new person. The hardest part of the entire journey is the first 1-2 weeks to get it started. Overcome this and you will learn the secret to lifelong weight loss whilst eating whatever you want! :)

I did the intermittent fasting 16:8 an it was honestly not that hard the majority of the time. My eating window was 8 a.m to 4 p.m. I always went to bed at 9 when I was doing this so I wouldn't feel too hungry. But it was only really hard the first 3 days. It's worth doing this! I tried everything before this an nothing helped. A side note also with anyone that has pcos, you know how hard it is to lose weight! This will hopefully help you because it did for me.

It’s helped me incredibly and now I’m starting to push myself into the 36 hr alternative day fasting for 3 days a week. I’m so far only making it to be a one meal at 24 hrs. I have used intermittent fasting for a few years now. And In a nut shell, yes it works. You should try it if you want to lose weight.
    A few things I’ve observed:
    1. The fatter you are the faster the fat comes off And the easier it is, so people will see the greatest losses early and quickly.
    2. As you get leaner and leaner, the fat loss slows as on a bell curve. The closer you get to your optimum weight the slower the loss.
    3. As time goes on, your brain and metabolism adapts to your routine, and your stomach also shrinks. A Smaller stomach in and of itself helps you eat less because you feel full with less food.
    4. I found that cycling on and off of it with a traditional all day eating diet can most of the time reboot your brain and hormones so that when you start it up again you’ll see good losses in the beginning until it re-adapts again.
    5. Even after all this, when it comes down to it weight-loss is still calories in to calories out no matter what eating window or diet you use. So if you don’t track your calories you can end up spinning your wheels for nothing, even using IF.

I don't think you are not gonna gain weight! Because intermittent fasting is not a diet . As long as you eat the right amount of calories per day you are gonna be fine! Maybe you 're not gonna loose a lot of fat(so not as toned) if you stopped but the key for weight loss is always the amount of calories. If you eat 5000 calories with intermittent fasting you're gonna gain weigh for sure ! I did IF for almost 3 months and I lost 20 pounds;but there were some weeks where i didn't do it , i just ate healthy and i kept loosing weight!

Lorena Figueroa I would only eat at at 11 am my lunch, at 2pm my snack, and then 4pm my dinner. I ate big healthy portions. This helped me loose all the extra weight I gained. Now I’m back to my normal weight I used to have after high school. Hope this helps.

I just started the 16/8 IF and am in love! In the first week alone I lost 10 pounds. I am never hungry, use my fasting time to get my water in, and I am no longer snacking at night. I stop my meals at 8pm and resume at noon the next day. I feel great and can't wait to see how a prolonged lifestyle fuels my results and health!

This is no joke. I've been doing a 8/16hr fast for 6 days now, I'm down 5 lbs, of course I have at least 140 lbs to lose, excited to see where this takes me! Hopefully I can give a good up date in a year!

@@seeyeah5172 I break my fast around 12 noon and I found that if I’m really hungry the ultimate way to get your body to NOT be hungry anymore is you just gotta get in the gym and just pump iron. I guess I’ve been intermittent fasting most of my life without knowing. I normally eat lunch and then finish with dinner at 7ish. I hardly snack and don’t eat breakfast.

Back in the spring, I had a colonoscopy. For those who don't know, you have to go for approximately 36 hours without eating. Depending on your appointment time, it could be closer to 40 or more. I'm a food addict, yet I had no problem fasting for my colonoscopy. It's as if my brain knew food was not an option, so I didn't crave it. I'm hoping I can retrain my brain, with IF, to not live and breathe for food.
