- As soon as the sound of Philadelphia was developed at the Sigma Sound Studios, members of the house band began to branch off into side projects and this is one of them. Executive Suite is a Philadelphia quartet with deep Philly roots as members Vincent Unto, Henry Tuten, William Tyler, and Charles Conyers were part of various Philadelphia vocal groups before forming the band in 1970. Unto and Tyler previously sang with the Millionaires on Castle Records; Tyler also sang with the Jewels, and Conyers with the Lovenotes. Their first single out of the gate on Jubilee records was "Christine/Mother Nature" notable due to the participation of a young Daryl Hall who co-wrote the song and contributed background vocals. Produced by Hall, pop producer John Madara and Len Barry, the song did not chart. You can listen to it here • Executive Suite - Chri... . In 1972 they moved over to Babylon Records which used Sigma Sound Studios facilities. This put the group in touch with old friends Bunny Sigler, Bobby Eli, Norman Harris, and Phil Hurtt who decided to give them a shot. The studio was flush with radio hits that established the sound of Philadelphia and the producers gave the band the royal treatment, with their first single being the lushly produced "I'm A Winner Now" which became a local hit that same year. It was followed by "You Believed In Me", "Your Love Is Paradise/I'm Leaving This Time" and finally "When The Fuel Runs Out" a disco-ish Philly style tune produced by Baker, Harris & Young, the Big Three Music trio, was put out in 1974. By this time Polydor records put together a highly collectible LP of those hits into "Executive Suite 1", which was five songs including the vocal and instrumental versions of "When The Fuel Runs Out", "You Got It" Parts 1 & 2, "You Believed In Me" Parts 1 & 2, "Your Love Is Paradise" and "I'm A Winner Now" although they made up seven separate tracks. The group suffered from indifferent promotion and by the time they released "Hey Pearl" in 1975 for United Artists without the backing of Sigma Sound Studios, the song did not chart. The group faded into obscurity only to be rescued by fans of the Northern Soul movement in the UK who were dedicated to giving overlooked songs a second chance in the clubs.

This record may have been made during the 1974 energy shortage-but there is NO energy shortage in this cut! This track is FULLY fueled & tricked out!And fortified EVEN more by the D-Cat!!!
You got that right daddy!!!
@@louisgonzalez8846 Thanks pal!👍👍😎
I laughed my head off when I first heard this song in a disco in NY. My lover subsequently bought me the record for my birthday because he knew how much I loved the silliness of the promise.
100% pure Disco Gold
One of the great ones of all time
I love this sound I was 15 when this sound came out
~ The classic original cream-coloured Babylon label. A historical statement as well as a disco, dance classic, re: gas lines at the pumps, and fuel shortages during the awful Nixon years Stateside. 1973! This + Bad Weather, the Supremes, 1973, and Ask Me by Barbara Roy & Ecstacy Passion and Pain, 1974 = examples of discotheque fare before it became a formulaic fad. This is one of those classic songs that were the platform from hundreds that came after it! R.I.P. the wonderful Bunny Sigler!
Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Barbara Roy's whole album was done at Sigma. MFSB. Arranged by Bobby Martin.
You put it beautifully big dawg!!! We were so blessed to hv been young

12 stray Dawgs (with the tail between their legs).
Poor things "they do not know what they are hearing".........since this is one hell of a classic , and totally infectious for your bones to turn to jello on the dance floor. Norman Harris definitely laid down the foundation for the world phenomenon of Disco. Immense talent that left this world too soon.
Thank you so much DJDiscoCat, for doing an excellent job of extending
This unknown treasure!!!!
And for featuring as well.
(I have the 45 and hv always hoped T.Moulton wud hv extended this great cut.) However DJDiscoCat
Has done an excellent mix
(T.Moulton wud be proud
Of you). It wud be great if you did an extended mix of
"Do the Choo Choo" by Jack Ashford from '74 as well.!!!
Patrick Adams with Philly masters.Masterpiece.

Soul Funk Perfection ... Angel Bay
A small quibble. Baker, Harris, Young, Montana, Larry Washington, Bobby Eli were all writing and producing by 68-69. See :The Spirit of Philadelphia, Vol 1" for example. Or "Philly Roots".
Or singles such as Hidden Cost - "Bo Did It." The Interpretations "Blow Your Mind."
Or Eddie Holman "Lonely Girl." The Philly Four "The Elephant P.t1 and Pt.2.
Or The Electric Indian album. Etc,
The great DJ Eddie B of Boston classic club Zeldas sunday nights
I give my shout out for my pastor bunny sigler the main singer and songwriter for all philly stars and their music that touch my heart forever. this is no exception, it was a club favorite at paradise garage in NYC. but it hits number one in new yprk, also thier major jitbim w winner now, hits number twelve on r and b, number ninety seven on the not so respected billboard
Bunny Sigler was not the main song writer. He did contribute many tunes, but Harris and Felder wrote hundreds of Philly tunes. So did McFadden and Whitehead.
Bundino was a true artist ,
And a phenomenal talent
You happen to be one of the few youtube DJ who can remix these classic tracks!I am waiting for the "Got to get you back" by Sons of Robin Stone extended remix . Can you make that happen? Thanks!!!!!
any chance on a remix on "'Got to get you back" Sons Of Robin Stone?
Community gardens Jamaica new York 1974
Best song ever. Memories at the Hounds and Foxes when the singer of a band creations sang this. Fell in love.
Hey Mr. DJ. If you can find it. It would be nice if you can do an extended version of " Hey There Sexy Lady" recorded by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters. It was on the Stang records label. Thank you for all the great work you do with all this great music 🎶👍

the 10 dislikes need psychiachric help
And a lot of whipping with a rolled up newspaper, to

Great song Is it true that Daryl Hall is involved?
The lyrics after I'll be your heat ???? Time 4:59
groove u ‘ . . . Fill you up once a week’
Amazing mix...but the drums are lost in the mix...wish they were a little more prominent. Never heard this instrumental part....wish I had it in the early 70s when this song killed it in all the early Gay clubs that lined the infamous New York Avenue in Atlantic City. Still have my original 2 copies. 💜
I was still learning how to improve the sounds at that time, I will have to re eq and see what I can do to fix that.
