I swear, if I ever win the lottery, one day, I'll probably buy an old camera, a shit ton of films, a ticket to the other side of the globe and a small apartment in the city I flew to. I would probably spend days and nights, by foot, on public transportations or in cabs taking pictures of everything then develop them once at home.
This film makes me dream, thanks to its cinematography, its mood, its monologue, its colours, especially in the night. My only regret is that I wish it would have been a bit longer.
Thank you for this, I'm probably going to watch it several times again and I really hope that you'll make similar short cinematics like this one soon !
Huge thanks for your comment! Travelling as a photographer is indeed one of the most satisfying yet strange experiences one can have. Longer cinematic coming up! Thanks for watching!
Phenomenal! And while the X-T3 is a great camera, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that the person behind the camera and production is the real star of this show.
Very kind words thank you friend!
Amazing work!!!!!
"the person behind the camera and production is the real star of this show" - THIS right here!! Totally agree!! 💯
Thank you for tagging this film with "XT3" or I would never have found it. What a masterpiece.
I came and watched this to see what other student filmmakers were doing with fujifilm cameras, and ended up watching one of the greatest short films I've ever seen.
this is absolutely amazing. I don't even write youtube comments but Boris you're really onto something here woah
ANGELICAMILASH 😭 Means a lot Angelica thank you! Can’t wait to work on some Retro Futuristic Asian Gangster thrillers with you!
I’ve been watching this every time I need to motivate myself to practice. Thank you so much for sharing a piece of your soul! Also, thank you for having XT3 in the title (I would’ve never found your channel)!
Please don’t stop, you never know who you’ll inspire!
Such kind words, thank you.
I keep coming back to this year after year, always makes me feel something
🙇🏼♂️ appreciate you.
dude. the color grading, the shots, everything about this is incredible holy shit. insane job
Appreciate that homie!
@@sapienstudio stellar work
Wow, this was REALLY good. It looks like a professional film for me. Doesn't look like amateur stuff. The actress was really, really good. A big part of this movie being so good is because of her. And the screenplay. That detail in the beginning of the TV sound in the background while she was speaking, between 0:38 and 0:53, was where this film really got me, that was really good. Specially at 0:42 when it shows the TV and the Asian hosts speaking. This was the best short film I have seen on RUclips so far, since I started looking for this type of content a few days ago (and I've watched quite a lot). I was actually just looking for short films on the Fuji XT3, was not specifically searching for movies or short films, but I'm glad I saw this one. Congratulations!
Johnny S Hey thank you! It’s nice knowing which parts people enjoy, rather than the usual comments about the camera and what lens was used etc. Appreciate the comment mate.
Bro the colors and the cinematography on this... amazing. I’m thinking about getting an XT3 and using canon FD lenses with it
N. B. V.
@@hugofranca8568 tbh colors imo are preferences but opinions!
This is really great. I’m about to embark on a path I know I’m ready for. The cinematography is outstanding, and the story’s minimalist style telling a grander picture is very touching. Thank you.
DJH HOME VIDEOS Appreciate your take. Thank you!
This is art; a moving painting with sound design, elevated to a state of mind. Beautiful.
This is fucking sick, dude. YES. A million times yes. Cine aside (GORGEOUS) you're a hell of an editor. That's some delicious crosscutting and the way you juxtaposed it all with her voice? Forget it. Hella feeling the Chris Doyle vibes. Cheers from LA.
A51 Hey such kind words! Appreciate you! Word up from Toronto! 👋🏼
I've watched this 3 times now...cried every time. It hits harder and makes more sense everytime and yet, as artists we all wish to feel the same sort of pain so that we might create a good moment from it.
Nice work! My favorite shot was in the car looking back from the passenger seat. Really evoked a mood and feeling. Loved it!
Came for the camera stayed for the video. Amazing!
I see guys here talking about the camera only, but funny to see how they neglect the artist behind it...none of them ask questions about the cinematography process.....
@GZ EL lol true
It's not a conundrum, as great as it is. It's right in front of our eyes.
Creativity doesn't matter anymore, its all about the best lens and best camera!! Blah blah blah!!
Oh I don't know, maybe because the camera name is in the title and is what people were searching for in the first place....
Wooow... ! Fantastic work !!
It’s been years and I keep coming back to this video to get inspired every time I get too much in my head about being able to produce my scripts without fancy Reds or Alexas. Honestly you motivate all of us to work on our craft not our gear. Would you be willing to do a breakdown of everything that went behind the scenes? How you set up your camera settings, any lighting equipment to set up your cinematographic mood before post production, stabilisers used. This is phenomenal work and I believe such a video can be so educational to many of us who would love such guidance
the best xt3 footage on youtube hands down
This is beautiful. I was drawn in from the first moment because of the great cinematography, sound design, music and voice over. I really love the mood it creates. Well done!
This cozy-wandering-look...impossible not to remember Lost in Translation. Such a beautiful piece, congratulations and thanks
Appreciate the kind words. Thank you Matias.
This video brings me to sell my a7iii and go with the XT3
Lazaro Aleks Been there done that man...never looked back.
SAPIEN STUDIO is the Fujifilm actually that good comparing to the a7iii for videos and photo?
ThomasYong no
@@polanialmoni6274 Video yes.
@@thomasyongg Definitely, and the user experience is a lot more satisfying than the Sony's, lenses are way more affordable... No IBIS but there are a lot of stabilized lenses (the 18-55 kit lens is excellent).
still love this.
Absolutely beautifully shot, clean and uncluttered editing. Lovely visual storytelling. Leaves me wanting more.
Means a lot thank you!
You should be in TIFF someday! Amazing!
Stacy Porter Too king thank you 🙏🏼
Boris this was seriously beautiful...the writing, color and the voice... really enjoyed that thank you
*This is art !!!* 🎨
Fujifilm XT3 produce beautiful image in low light! Thanks for sharing
Magnifique clip. Vous avez tutoyé les étoiles. Continuez ainsi!!
Dude, I come back and rewatch this for inspiration, and since this is probably my 8th watch, I just caught a pretty impressive shot at 3:30. It looks like a dolly in-zoom outshot to convey the background almost slipping away even further in the frame. Very impressive! Did anyone else catch that!?
Haha nice catch! Thanks for supporting Adrian 🤘🏼
This colours... Wild, astonishing, great!
wow..just wow. would love to know more about the creative process. great job. do more.
Make the feature. Great short-make that feature and you’ll go places.
Yo which feature??
SAPIEN STUDIO i think they meant to make it into a full feature
Masterclass in editing and cinematography. Just got the new X-T4 myself and can’t wait to get out and shoot.
The color is awesome, the most underrated short film
absolutely brilliant. what lens is used at 0:46 ?
Been looking for this for two years
i don't really know how to feel and what to say after watching this. It is beautiful. Thank you for that!
It's really beautiful, the mood is so compelling and dreamy... You end up inside the images, in a similar way wong kar wai does. Do more! And longer! :)
Massimo Volta Wow huge compliment thank you! 💋
So beautiful and poetic. Love the visual style and editing rhythm
Reminds me of Lost in Translation movie. Well done. Great story and cinematography.
Please upload behind the scenes if possible ❤️

Waww 😍🔥🔥 perfect
wow great video absolutely love this
This is amazing! It looks like it was shot on film. What you accomplished on that camera shows it all about talent not necessarily the equipment. I have an XT2, and after seeing this I'm definitely motivated. Man, time to see some how to videos!
Thank you Sandro. All about the motivation! Get out there!
Stunning - subscribed!
🙏🏼
This was absolutely beautiful
Love this! Did you use a Pro-Mist filter or was the halation added in post?
really want to know about this too
That’s literally what I’m here to know.
Sorry for the delay! These were the days before I owned a Pro Mist so it was done in post. I still prefer it this way to be honest.
