- Interested in a career in mining engineering, but don't know what to expect?
In this video, I will dive into the courses that you will take as a 3rd and 4th year mining engineering student. I found 3rd and 4th year to be better than 1st and 2nd year since you get to take a lot more mining-related classes, and you can customize your degree with electives to learn more about what you like!
I will also comment on what courses I found the most interesting, and what courses will be the most useful in the real world.

So important info sir
I enjoyed it
This is very helpful ❤
Can you share few links for mine design step by step guide
Do you have any books to recommend for each subject?
Do mining engineers find their way into finance to evaluate mining investments? If so, what masters do they undertake (mba?)? Also, in the financial industry, is a geologist better suited to evaluate exploration stage jr miners compared to a mining engineer, and would a mining engineer be better suited to evaluate development stage jr miners compared to geologists?
I am planning to study Master's of Mining Engineering in Canada and I am from India. It would be great if you post a video of the books that they refer to study. Great video btw 😁
Hello bro is physics in mining engineering tough
@@parkemma3451 No dude. It's not that tuff. The subjects will touch the basics except a few topics. All in all you can understand the topics easily with just the basics.
really informative! are there any online platforms for access to these or related courses?
not really, since these are university courses i took in person

Isn't Tailings Dams/storage facilities a branch of civil engineering?
yes it is, it's the intersection between mining and civil engineering
@@KwanFung Alright, I noticed the mines in my country, South Africa, outsource a lot of things and have consulting firms (civil firms) design detailed components of mining infrastructure.
Nice channel btw, you are probably the only YT channel talking about mining engineering, great stuff.
@@karabo933 thank you!
Lol we did Material Science and Electronics in our first year. That is most definitely not 3rd year modules
It depends on the school.
