You are the first doggie momma that I've seen on RUclips that actually train their dogs to have manners! As a future service dog handler seeing a puppy this young but well trained blows my mind! Her training is amazing and will help service dog handlers so much when outside and passing by. I watched her 4 month old vlog and seeing you train her not to lunge at dogs is something I wish all puppy owners would do. I'm so happy that you actually will take the time to train her and teach her proper leash training unlike other owners who don't. I'm definitely subscribing and looking forward to more puppy videos! :)

I talked about her potty training "routine" in her 3 month video! I would check that out, but in brief we: - took her out every hour, on the hour (yes even in the middle of the night). We would bring her to the door say "Let's go potty" then take her out & once she's on the grass say "Go Potty" and when she does immediately like mid stream say "YES good girl go potty" and once done peeing immediately give treats then take back inside. after about a week of that move to every 2 hours, then after another week move to 3 hours, then after that every 4 hours, etc. but everything else stays the same!! I swear by everything in my amazon storefront that I bought her!!! It was all AMAZING and either stuff she outgrew (naturally) or still use to this day!!! www.amazon.com/shop/marissanicole
We are still training her all the time, she sin't perfect and still messes up pretty much all of her commands! I don't think we'll ever be done training her :)
Aww she’s Soo big now and I just wanted to say that I love your vids keep up the good work and hi freya kitty marissa and griffin that’s all I wanted to say have a great day and maybe when I have summer break we can have a dog play date if that’s ok with you that’s all goodbye 👋
Hi Marissa! I was wondering what the thing you use to keep her in the backseat of the car is called? We're really struggling with our three month old lab, who definitely won't sit still. I've only found seat protectors, and they wouldn't really help.
Hey are you doing a 6 month update video? I first found you through your puppy haul video and have been watching you since. I really hope you do one freya is just too adorable.
Also I know that she doesn't pull, but 8f she does or even if you are in a public place where she could get lost or escape I would definitely recommend a harness for that kind of thing. Collars could potentially choke her.
Do you think you could make a video about training tips? I have a hard time training my puppy to stop pulling on the lead. Also out of nowhere she just books it, like she gets the zoomies and just starts running and it’s so hard to walk her 😩
What brand of playpen is that? We are crate training our Aussie and we leave him on our open deck for couple of hrs but I would like a playpen for those rainy days since he is a mighty chewer.
them licking the shower is weird but kitty with the sink im pretty sure is a wild thing like if she was in the wild and was drinking from a running river
she definitely still does when she's super hyper. Try a gentle leader, or a slip lead, or a harness with a front loop to attach the lead to!! We used the slip lead to practice walking when she first started going on walks around 4 months old!
I am currently doing the 75 hard challenge as the one I decided to do starting after Colorado so that video will be a little longer than a month since it's 75 days!! But I'll be posting updates on my Instagram, kinda mini daily vlogs on the Reels feature of each day for 75 hard if you'd like to keep up with it there! 💕 @_muhrisah!
Did you touch base on how much she weighs if so I missed it in the video. I am curious because my Aussie is 5 months and 20 lbs. His mom is a mini and his dad is a mix between mini and standard.
So amazed at how well she is learning and how big she has gotten!!! I currently work at veterinary emergency group and I do highly recommend getting her a harness we see a lot of collapsed tracheas from collars. I do know she is very great at leash training but a harness overall distributes the pressure on their body. A very simply harness I have for my own mini Aussie is a easy walk harness. Also about food of course this goes with you researching yourself but this is also because of the field I am, so slightly basis here but hill’s science dog food has been the dog food product for me and others I know; has lots of varieties and has specific diets for certain dogs. Just a brand you should look into! Love the video❤️
And another note I do recommend a collar for obvious identification and all the chips but for walking purposes I do highly recommend leash attached to a harness with a collar on
Thanks so much for the tips!!! She use to wear harnesses more but she grew out of the two we bought her when she was younger so we need to get her a new one hahah ❤️
I’m so late on this video but I’m watching them in order of my puppy’s growth! :) I have a mix breed dog and I was just curious how much did Freya weigh at 5 months? My pup is medium breed and is about 25lbs at 5mo!
My Aussie is 11 weeks old and does great with his training, but dear God his puppy biting is crazy now especially considering his puppy teeth are coming in super sharp. There's only so much "uh uhs" and redirecting can do. When did Freya's puppy bitting start to tail off?
around 16 weeks once she was vaccinated and we could take her for walks and to doggy daycare. A lot of that is that they have energy that they don't know how to get rid of and really can't being cooped up inside. Once Freya could leave the apartment her biting just DROPPED OFF!!! she still gets nippy here and there when she's super hyper and if we can't exercise her for a day or so, but as long as she's getting walks in the morning, an event during the day, and a walk at night she is an ANGEL!!!
yes she does, especially when she is hyper and has nothing to do. we try and give her things to chew on and things to do to tire her out. play with her, take her to the dog park, to doggy daycare, etc. the more tired she is, the better she is! 💕
omg YES!!! she was TERRIBLE until about 4 months old!!! every time she would bite one of us we would say "ah-ah-ah" and give her a toy instead. if she chewed the toy we praised and rewarded her. if she continued to try and bite us we would stand up and say "ah-ah-ah" again and try the toy again, and if she continued we leave the room and ignore her until she calmed down and played with her toys. it was a lot of sitting down and standing up. it was exhausting because it felt like it would never end. but around 4 months it just kinda stopped. once they lose their baby teeth it gets SO much better!!! there's light at the end!!
I know I'm a bit late to this video, but cats LOOOVE fresh water as they think it is more cleaner. This is why cats don't usually drink water that's right next to their food bowl and they think if their food is next to their water it will be contaminated!
I have an aussi, he is 3 months old and is getting better BUT I still struggle that when he gets excited outside he bites me for playing or if I walk just sometimes. I am working on that all the time, but fells that is a never ending story T-T
FYI, most of the fears around raw food are from people who misunderstand it and don't feed a balanced diet. You must include some bone and organ. Dogs also have highly acidic stomachs that destroy salmonella and other bacteria found in raw meat
Thank you!! Your doggo videos are amazing by the way. I look foreward to them every month. Wish there was more, but I know you have a life so I am appreciative of what you give us.
It is VERY time consuming. I'm grateful I was working from home when we got her so I had ALL the time in the world to train her (that's also why we decided to get her when we did because I knew I'd be home and would have the time to do it!) ♥️
Freya is over 2 years old now and hasn't eaten Blue Buffalo since this video. but I SOOO appreciate the heads up and hope other people see this comment too if they're feeding this food!
My moms goldendoodle has a big problem eating blue buffalo like he instantly throws it up within minutes after eating it I guess he just has the sensitive stomach like a poodle but my schnauzer terrier mix and my poodle ate blue buffalo up until recently because I found out it was causing congestive heart failure in some dogs but blue buffalo is definitely a better option than purina in my opinion- I had a dog die of cancer from eating purina but it is very hard to find a good food because no matter what you look up there’s always something bad in all of them
@@MyDriftingDesk it’s okay sometimes different dogs are sensitive to different things but I also know that poodles are known to have sensitive stomachs
omggg YESSS I honestly think that's why she's so well trained and why training her was quite easy for me! People think I do this for a living but honestly I owe it all to my Psych degree hahahh
highly suggest getting a baby gate to keep them separate until they can control themselves around the cat. Be very strict with it and made sure their "herding" is under control before letting them roam together. 🧡
@@MyDriftingDesk thank u 🙏. I have gates to every room, with small cat doors. Cats (I have 2) can come and go as they please… pup is restricted, he’s been leashed inside for 2 months, but I’m outside with him a lot (im getting 8-10 miles a day, so he’s getting way more). We just went thru 5 weeks of preschool/daycare (2x/week). His trainer says he doesn’t have an off button, even after 10 hours of training/playing. They have suggested board & train :(
She is really smart. The way she worked through the "go to your bed" command was great !

This is the one we got! www.amazon.com/dp/B00D5P8450?ref=exp_marissanicole_dp_vv_d
them licking the shower is weird but kitty with the sink im pretty sure is a wild thing like if she was in the wild and was drinking from a running river
yes!! animals love running water more than stagnant water!
I have had a mini Aussie for 12 years now and he barely sheds. My mom is a dog groomer and she says most dogs shed more then him.
haha lucky doggo
cutie pie!
💕
:3 dat ma dream doggay
How did you stop Freya from pulling on the leash on walks? My five month old pup pulls like crazy!!
she definitely still does when she's super hyper. Try a gentle leader, or a slip lead, or a harness with a front loop to attach the lead to!! We used the slip lead to practice walking when she first started going on walks around 4 months old!
Hi! are you posting a video about last month's fitness program?
I am currently doing the 75 hard challenge as the one I decided to do starting after Colorado so that video will be a little longer than a month since it's 75 days!! But I'll be posting updates on my Instagram, kinda mini daily vlogs on the Reels feature of each day for 75 hard if you'd like to keep up with it there! 💕 @_muhrisah!
Did you touch base on how much she weighs if so I missed it in the video. I am curious because my Aussie is 5 months and 20 lbs. His mom is a mini and his dad is a mix between mini and standard.
I'm not sure if I did in this video. But she was around the same at 5 months! she's 10 months now and weighs about 45 pounds!
She was probably around 15-20? I didn't keep track but she is 37 now so that sounds about right!
Beautiful dog🎉
Thank you 🤗💛
I have a 5 month old Australian cattle dog mix.. not sure what the other part he is. he is sooo nippy and herd us. lol how do we stop this?
💕 thank you for always watching!
Where did you get her?!✨❤️
I linked the breeder we went through in the description box of the video where we picked her up at 8 weeks old! ❤️
@@MyDriftingDesk Thank you!
Hello everyone!
Hello!
Your dog go is so cute I love you videos 🥰🥰🥰💕💕❤️😍😍😇
❤️❤️ thank you so much!
I love your dog!
thanks so much!!
1:12 I have those Jammie pants they are so soft
THEY REALLY ARE OMG
does freya nip and bite? i have a 6 month old mini aussie and she still attacks our hands and bites us. any tips on how to stop that?
yes she does, especially when she is hyper and has nothing to do. we try and give her things to chew on and things to do to tire her out. play with her, take her to the dog park, to doggy daycare, etc. the more tired she is, the better she is! 💕
What is the best age to start training?
literally day 1 as soon as you bring your pup home!
I get a pit bull in 5 more weeks I love ur vids and can you do a vid on how u trained her
I definitely can!!! 🥰
omg! my 5 month old aussie does the same thing-- she rips the leaves off plants! Hahaha
it is SOOO funny hahahah
@@MyDriftingDesk does she still do it to this day? i wonder if my mimi will keep doing it ahahaha
I recomend Fromm puppy food you can find it on amazon
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to look into it!
She’s so big from when u first got her in that video 🥺
I KNOW RIGHT?!!!
Where did you get that car seat thing ??
Amazon! My storefront is linked in the description box & it’s in my puppy folder 💛
Has she ever shown issues with herding & biting? My little 9 week old is so bad about it! Tips on how you handled it ! 😅🐾
omg YES!!! she was TERRIBLE until about 4 months old!!! every time she would bite one of us we would say "ah-ah-ah" and give her a toy instead. if she chewed the toy we praised and rewarded her. if she continued to try and bite us we would stand up and say "ah-ah-ah" again and try the toy again, and if she continued we leave the room and ignore her until she calmed down and played with her toys. it was a lot of sitting down and standing up. it was exhausting because it felt like it would never end. but around 4 months it just kinda stopped. once they lose their baby teeth it gets SO much better!!! there's light at the end!!
Pls do a dog training vid! Luv your vids!
Coming soon! ❤️❤️
I know I'm a bit late to this video, but cats LOOOVE fresh water as they think it is more cleaner. This is why cats don't usually drink water that's right next to their food bowl and they think if their food is next to their water it will be contaminated!
Cats are so smart. My kitty Kleo steals from Remi’s water bowl lol
good to know! 💛
I have an aussi, he is 3 months old and is getting better BUT I still struggle that when he gets excited outside he bites me for playing or if I walk just sometimes. I am working on that all the time, but fells that is a never ending story T-T
Freya does the SAME thing still. we just make sure she's as tired as possible every day because the more tired she is, the less bitey she is!
FYI, most of the fears around raw food are from people who misunderstand it and don't feed a balanced diet. You must include some bone and organ. Dogs also have highly acidic stomachs that destroy salmonella and other bacteria found in raw meat
As long as owners are doing their best to be educated and to do right by their puppers, that's awesome!
Hey I’ve heard pretty bad things about Blue Buffalo, I feed my girl Victor! It’s super great and has lots of meat protein.
Good to know! I'll look more into it! 💕
@@MyDriftingDesk I would also highly recommend Carna4!
Your treat bag isn't in your amazon shop =(
OMG so sorry!! here it is!! amzn.to/3k3lFYW
Thank you!! Your doggo videos are amazing by the way. I look foreward to them every month. Wish there was more, but I know you have a life so I am appreciative of what you give us.
I which I had the time to train my dog but I’m just always working and it’s hard for me
It is VERY time consuming. I'm grateful I was working from home when we got her so I had ALL the time in the world to train her (that's also why we decided to get her when we did because I knew I'd be home and would have the time to do it!) ♥️
💕💕
❤️❤️
R h doing agility with her?
I saw that there was a recall on blue Buffalo dog food
Freya is over 2 years old now and hasn't eaten Blue Buffalo since this video. but I SOOO appreciate the heads up and hope other people see this comment too if they're feeding this food!
@@MyDriftingDesk yeah i was just watching your other puppy update and saw that you switched food.
My moms goldendoodle has a big problem eating blue buffalo like he instantly throws it up within minutes after eating it I guess he just has the sensitive stomach like a poodle but my schnauzer terrier mix and my poodle ate blue buffalo up until recently because I found out it was causing congestive heart failure in some dogs but blue buffalo is definitely a better option than purina in my opinion- I had a dog die of cancer from eating purina but it is very hard to find a good food because no matter what you look up there’s always something bad in all of them
oh no I'm so sorry :(
@@MyDriftingDesk it’s okay sometimes different dogs are sensitive to different things but I also know that poodles are known to have sensitive stomachs
What do you put on the porch so she can go potty?
I used a Pet Loo. It's linked in my Puppy folder on Amazon, in the description! 🫶🏼
Also I need ideas of mental stimulation maybe a vid of that?? how you mentally stimulant her?
oohh that would be fun!!
@@MyDriftingDesk wait you actually responded? Omg. Do u think u will do it I have a GSD and trying to think of fun ways to mentally stimulate him!
Did your psychology major help with behaviour training?
omggg YESSS I honestly think that's why she's so well trained and why training her was quite easy for me! People think I do this for a living but honestly I owe it all to my Psych degree hahahh
how much does Freya shed?
right now, not a TON because she hasn't gotten her undercoat in yet (thank goodness) but Aussie's are notorious for shedding A LOT
Is she a mini?
she is not a mini, she should get around 35-50 pounds full grown!
👍
💕💕
I need help with my puppy not chasing my cats. 😢
highly suggest getting a baby gate to keep them separate until they can control themselves around the cat.
