Shiny odds. XY odds were increased to 1/4096, while before such as here in Emerald odds are 1/8192. however finding 2 at the same time on four parallel instances is 1/((8192odds^2treecko)/4intances), or 1 in 16,777,216.
If he was using 4 different savestates. He was using an Emulator and 4 of the same saves.
The RNG in Gen 3 works in a way, that in this case he is actually looking at the exact same shiny. This is confirmed by himself and the community.
So "just" 1/8192.

If the normal odds are 1/8000 then having it opened 4x at onces increases chances to 4/8000 meaning 1/2000. Everybody's math was wrong.
I don't know about the odds of getting 2 at the same time.

LEOs has the real answer, but even if it did work this way, I think your math is slightly off.
Let's use the counting argument. That is number of ways to get the desired configuration divided by all possible configurations has this at (8191^2*1*1*4 choose 2)/(8192)^4
8191 is the number of ways to not get a shiny. 1 is the number of ways to get a shiny out of 8192 possible numbers. So across 4 screens 2 of them need to not be shiny and 2 of them need to be hence the 8192*8192*1*1.
4 choose 2 is the number of ways to pick 2 screens out of 4 because we don't care that it was specifically the two bottom screens that got the shinies.
4 choose 2 assuming order doesn't matter is 4!/(2!*2!) = 4*3*2*1/(2*1*2*1) = 4*3*2*1/(4)=3*2*1=6
That simplifies to (8191^2*6)/(8192)^4
That doesn't really simplify into an exact solution any further (other then doing some ugly exponent multiplication), but according to google that is approximately 8.93851406e-8 which is approximately 8/10,000,000 or 8 in 10,000,000. If you want to go crazy with the rounding you could call it about a 1 in 1,000,000 chance.

For the record I have all of the NSO controllers and a GameCube controller adapter for Switch, and yes, they work with limited success for every game. Every button mirrors a respective input from a normal controller and they are received as such in games that aren’t explicitly compatible with them. Funny enough, you can play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe almost perfectly with every single controller…
That's really not surprising. The games is meant to be playable with joycons. I'd assume most any controller can have at least that much functionality
@@linuxes9681 Most people don’t know you can play Mario Kart with the d-pad. After all, the d-pad is what the NES, SNES, and Genesis controllers are forced to use and they can’t be remapped.

I know this is after the stream ended, and Wood probably doesn't read this, but he's spoken on Eternal Darkness a couple times so I just wanted to give him some info: It was developed by Silicon Knights, a Canadian developer not a subsidiary of Nintendo, so is technically a 2nd party title, not first party (made for the console exclusively but not by a studio owned by Nintendo, it was published by them, however, making it 2nd party not 3rd party... it's a bit confusing).
The death of that studio is unfortunately due to legal disputes with Epic Games that were quite messy with wrongdoing on both sides (for a later game made by the studio).
There was an attempt to make a spiritual successor from the original creator but it failed it's Kickstarter goal unfortunately.
i think luigi mansion for gamecube online, they have 2 and 3 on the switch but not the original.

i used to be in the category of "i will pay for gamepass every month JUST IN CASE I want to play halo one night or something" but I went for most of 2023 not playing gamepass so I eventually cancelled it and I will just renew my subscription for one month to play a game I want like Lies of P. 20$ to beat the game in a month i think is a decent deal other than just buying the game full price. its usually only once or twice a year there is a game added i actually want to play.
That gamepass change, and the repeat division of services and then chargung you more to get what you used to have is an absolute perfect example of enshitification 👍 it costs more, you get less but they can keep their profits going up!

The shiny odds in current titles were cut in half G2-4 are in fact 8129. Without shiny charm.
And in fact that guy was using a copied seed for that file. If the same things happen between both games happen at the same time in the same way the game forces events to happen. Kinda like Rogue Likes the seed for a run is generated but if you do something in that seed the events in the seed change

To answer the questions: They are not releasing The Wave Bird; it is a regular cordless GameCube controller. Second, there will be a GameCube on the NSO, just not now. It will available months after the release of the next console.

no, not really. in an super overclocked android or linux running switch, gamecube runs okish at best.

Xbox was losing the hardware battle with PlayStation, so decided to make Game Pass the killer app. Game Pass is getting expensive now, and all I'm thinking is that I like my PlayStation more than it. I think they gave me another reason to leave their ecosystem more than anything doing these moves.

I’m not sure I understand this setup of the podcast. It feels like a pre-show when podcasts talk before the guest shows up.
I feel like they could easily throw in a guest at the end for special topics. It could even be a pre-recorded interview or the like to keep the live chatting while continuing to introduce guests. Maybe even a virtual call to talk if they wanted to keep it live and avoid the hassle of travel/transporting people.
