John Manalo is a straight up G! Dude gave be alot of pointers on my very first custom J1's a couple of years ago. Reshoevn8r has the essentials that you need to keep your kicks looking fresh. I was not paid to say this...it's just the truth.
Yes, so for older shoes that are rare or have high value, you would use a donor pair that is newer and not really high value. The reason you use a new pair is so that you give the shoes you are restoring another 10 years or so of life.
