One thing that has helped me get off my phone at night is at 8pm I switch my phone to black & white mode. Its in the accessibility settings. My phone is not as fun to look at when it's not bright & colorful.

Immy , I’ve been following you for years now and just wanted you to know that following your journey helps me feel more empowered and motivated to do better in my life. I love how goal driven you are and how you are always looking at ways to grow and better yourself. It helps me hold myself accountable as well. Thank you for sharing your growth with us!! You’re so real and so appreciated 💚

2:40: You’re wearing your jumper that you knit, and dahng… does it look cozy and colourful!! Mega-congrats on getting your chin-up. Such an awesome accomplishment!! For me, September means I am back in the classroom; it’s the time of the year for ‘habit re-shuffling’. I find my habits change with the seasons. One habit that I have stuck with is daily outdoor movement. I started this 100 Day Outdoor Movement Challenge with you last year in October and I decided to extend the challenge for a full year. Today was day number 321. Thanks for getting me going on this one, Immy. I can always count on you for good ideas… truly!! I am thinking of registering for a big open-water swim next summer so I see mega-training coming my way. I have learned a lot from you and your book recs on habits so I just want to say a humungous thank-you for this. I am looking forward to your next video. Like you, I am a hard-core budgeter who tracks the cash flow in and out. I know how much you love Autumn so I hope you are enjoying some cooler temperatures and crisp evening air. Thanks for the great video today. PS - this year in the school where I teach we have implemented a strict new rule for students and staff: “No Tech During Instructional Time”. I find I am rarely on tech during day now so I schedule tech-time as part of my evening routine. I shut it down at around 9pm every evening. I find this new rule at my school is really limiting my time-on-tech, and I’m totally OK with this. Ⓜary💕

Hello Immy! Something that has helped me immensely at night is reading an ebook on my phone. I use Libby and borrow vaguely interesting nonfiction books. That way, I don't stay up all night reading about something I'm passionate about, and if I don't finish the book before it's returned to library, I don't really mind. It allows me to dip into a topic without the commitment of reading the entire book. This practice has helped me when I want the comfort of holding my phone, but I don't want the absolute brain numbness and addiction of scrolling through Instagram. Most of the time, I end up falling asleep reading about ten minutes in. Thanks for your videos!

A lot of content online is meant to be a time filler or "hollow" entertainment (which isn't bad sometimes, but it's easy to get sucked into). Once those videos are over, you click on the next because it wasn't mentally filling. Your videos are. Inspiring, challenging, empowering, motivating, and powerful. Thank you! Also - love the REI jumper.

Hi Immy, I can recommend listening to an audiobook before sleeping. If you concentrate on the story all the other thoughts in your head disappear and if I speak for myself: I sail away in no time and really nice decompression. It's totally different than scrolling on your phone. All the best to you!

You can create a healthy nighttime habit, like a relaxing bath, reading, writing in a journal, brain-dump your next day to do list. I personally read. I have always enjoyed your videos! Glad to hear that you are finding routines are working well for you! 😊

Congrats on the chin up! Once there's one, more come so quickly I found. 😊
The whole cycle synching for me has proven to be a double edged sword. At first, if was incredible helpful and illuminating. At some point, I noticed a massive nocebo-effect in my luteal phase. Sometimes, my pms can be horrific, but some cycles, it's absolutely fine and I tended to feel worse than I had to because that's what I expected. Our cycle is a huge factor, just not the only one. Now I'm trying to get into listening to my body and mind, and only check my cycle occasionally and afterwards.

Firstly, I know nothing about worm composting, but my tenant did and remember him having them in large Rubbermaid totes that he put into my spare bedroom as they needed the warmth over the winter months. I’m in BC. They fared well. Good luck and I so thank you for your shared continued efforts as have been following you for years as I try to go along a similar journey. You really were my inspiration to do so and continue to be. ❤️🇨🇦💛

I'd say reading a novel instead of scrolling is a good swap but also, of course you aren't going to go straight to sleep if you finish work at 10pm! If you can change that element the sleep will fix itself. X

I can't wait to see new garden content. I moved to Denver a few months before you did so I'm also new to the climate but I just started a small autumn garden. It'd be so fun to compare and learn from someone new to the area as well :)

I can definitely relate to your bad habit. I know I should probably read or do a wee meditation but I sometimes feel like I am to tired to then push my brain any further. I just want to do something easy like watch your video 😂 ....just like now.

Ah, congrats on the chin-up!! It's such an achievement, I feel - it took me a whole year of rock climbing to get there, personally, so I feel the amount of work people put in for it. But it's such a thrill to be able to pull your whole body weight up! At least, I think so. I keep thinking that if I weren't so shy I'd do them in playgrounds, in buses/trains on the bars you're meant to hold... Just for fun.

It's amazing how minor shifts in well-being, like having a brief illness (just going thru this myself) can throw off what seem like solid habits! It's important to let it go, but resume as soon as I can. You do know you can compost without worms very efficiently, even in winter?
