- This is a technique for transferring an image printed on an inkjet printer to wood. The results are faster and sharper than other methods I have seen. Show your support! Visit www.eguitarplans.com/ and buy a plan. Or visit highline-custom-guitars-2.cre... and buy a shirt!
This is the best demonstration of anything I have ever seen. Clear precise lettering and application. No stupid musac or unintelligable chatter.
I did this using freezer paper for a guitar headstock logo. Sprayed the paper with 2 coats of satin lacquer. Then used the Elmer's and printed the image, followed by another coat of lacquer before applying the image with Mod Podge. Without the final coat of lacquer over the ink, the image would bleed. After applying the image I finished with many coats of lacquer and it looks perfect - way better than the commercial inkjet waterslide decals I was attempting to use before.
This worked so well once I was able to print the picture. I had some trouble with the paper getting jammed, but once I printed it I practiced on another piece of wood and finally on the final piece. It worked great and I am very pleased with the result! Thanks for the help!
To all the people out there that are putting videos on youtube to teach their craft....USE THIS VIDEO FOR A TEMPLETE!!!!!!!!! I've seen the worst and now i've seen the best....GREAT JOB!
I've been looking for something like this for ages! Thanks.
million thanks for the tutorial! This is the perfect method I've been looking for!
Hi there and thanks!, I've watched lots of transfer videos but your technique looks way better. Very clear and nice tutorial. I'm using direct print on wood.
Okay, thats what i was thinking. I just did this with a transparency, minus the Krylon, and used Mod Podge instead of the gel medium. Worked like a charm. Its a mix of your method and another with a bit of brainstorming from myself. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love this project! Thank you so much for uploading this video! The only issue I had was I kept getting small lines or streaks in my pictures because I couldn't get the glue perfectly even with a normal paintbrush. I switched to a foam brush to spread the glue, and my pictures turned out great!
Great video and I used freezer paper, the shiny side and it works like a charm. Also I printed out a 5x7 picture on the freezer paper that I had just made and stuck it to a canvas using your method and its wonderful. Instead of the varnish at the end I just covered the whole thing with mod podge matte and let it dry its awesome. I really like this technique a lot. Now I know what everyone is getting for Christmas...lol
This is great! I was actually going to buy special paper when I get that far, thank you, you are the best!
This was so incredibly helpful! Thank you!!
Excellent process! Thanks for sharing!!!
Wow this is a different method.......I can understand the process behind it...THANK YOU
Thank you for this method. I live in Poland and I use old Felowers CD/DVD labels, Crafts Spray by Motip and washable PVA glue from docrafts and of course mod podge. Everything works great!
I'll bet it would! Great suggestion. I'll have to try it out next time.
This has been the best method of getting my design onto wood media. I placed mine on painted wood and it worked just as well as unfinished wood. Im still perfecting, but great results so far!!! THANKS SO MUCH. After you do it once it gets easier / faster. I may not get the vinyl cutter I was planning on getting now!
Can't wait to try this!!!! Just figured out what to make everyone for Christmas :)
Thanks for sharing this good way to make logo on the wood
Impressive.Seemed like a lot of work at first but results are worth the effort. Very professional logo.
