There’s 2 ways to think of it. Most Americans use the number of feet “off” a 75’ line, so when you hear Nate ran “41 off,” that’s 41’ off (shorter than) a 75’ line. The other way to express it is in terms of the actual line length, but in meters. So instead of saying “41 off,” you could say Nate ran his “10.25 meter (length of the line with 41’ removed) pass.”
Funny as I have never seen a follow up to "the Story of a Champion" series... how can it be a Series if it only ever had one episode.....hmmm Where are all the other stories of all the other champions in this "SERIES"
@@Lee-xn8by I’m super upper income and I’m not interested in cutting back and forth . I’m worth 2 million a year and a net worth of 23 million USD. I do it for fun at 15 off @34..2 but I’m not traveling or paying anyone to enter a “tournament”.
Seriously??? Rather see Fred... You guys are totally insensitive and obviously blind to what he has done. He has damaged the image of waterskiing. He should just retire.
Unfortunately, years ago World Champions got jobs as performers in Ski Shows for low pay. product endorsements help "pro skiers" and cash prize tournaments have not created millionaires. Top world class skiers need public exposure on TV sports, huge crowds in water venues. Sites that are not hidden ponds in remote areas, glassy water for skiers. The TV exposure of the 1970-1990 is sadly gone. Dick Pope of Cypress Gardens was one of a kind.
@@MFSII agree and you’re a badass and slalom skiing is a great sport. Maybe talk to some engineers and have them shorten the rope proportionally for the skiers so the tall goofy guy doesn’t win everything. Get something like a vice grip to squeeze the rope at a length for the skier instead of set knots so it can truly be equal for each skier independent of height. Send me cash for my idea if it takes off and it will.
so great of you to give respect to Andy
Nate’s got a World Record himself, nobody is riding that many 41 off in a while…🤩
Nate is a very impressive slalom skier. I've had the chance to ski with him once, it was a performance-bettering experience!
It’s insane enough Nate still has a career but for a documentary to made is baffling
Looking forward to your next chapter, good luck and best wishes, a novice watching in envy.
Hes still a pedophile
I agree completely: staying at the top is the hardest.
Absolutely amazing!
AMAZING CINEMATICS
That's awesome vid!! Should do more of these 👍👍
a champion indeed! i loved this!! go Nate!!!!
The guy is still a pedophile
Wow! I just like to ski!
Great story!
He has run 41 at record capability tournaments 125 times? I wonder what is 2nd place in running 41?
Can somebody explain the number system etc to me please? Thanks

wow his daddy started with one hand
He’s using 2 foot skiies any average skiier could do that
3:22 ?
He doesn’t need to retire... he needs a cancel.
Sorry, not interested in Nate Smith anymore, at least not with cool music as he's talking
The reason there is no money in this sport is because it is a dying sport.
I mean dead sport. Nobody cares about it except the people doing it.
And it's a dying sport because it's tailored towards the upper income instead of the average household.

Yehuda Weiss you must not follow waterskiing very closely.. he was suspended last year.. try Google
Suzanne Linda I just saw the allegations terrible
Yehuda Weiss no allegations, he was suspended.
There is no money in this sport
Oh there’s tons of money in it, but it’s the money you spend.
