    55:00 when the flamer is firing at the squad which is down behind the fence, it should have needed a 4+ to hit. Since it moved +1 (due to it not having the 'assault' keyword), long range +1 (since the target is over 3 inches away), and short range since the target is within 6 inches range. With flamers the ranging rules are a bit weird since the range is only 6 inches, but true short range is a target within 3 inches of the flamer. In the end it doesn't really matter since it whiffed, but still a thingie to remember at tournaments for example

      I'm not sure if you have to apply half range when using a F-T as it is an "area" weapon. I played in a Warlord sponsored tournament and they didn't apply the half range. Der Hammer also had a pin. Great game nevertheless.

    Congratulations Andre! Do you guys remember what happened to the sniper in Private Ryan? And what happened to the paratroops in Carentan when the German artillery came in? How about Casino? The abbey was better cover after the Allies turned it into rubble, like in Stalingrad, when the whole city was turned into rubble? Maybe that's what you need? More rubble and fewer buildings? Unless it's a relatively undamaged city that is just being invaded? Like this French city.

    Had those moments of hope for the French. Alas not to be. IIRC The French doctrine was to occupy cover with dargons (medium cavalry that can dismount in earlier eras), point defense with limited AT assets, armor or mobile local counter attacks. So historically played scenario. Will you try this scenario in Chain of Command? Oh I must get some of those "Wargame World" dice 8-))

    That made a great game. I enjoyed the rules discussion at the end particularly, although I’d disagree with your conclusion. I prefer the BA building rules over other games, especially CoC. Buildings don’t offer much protection, especially when there’s HE being thrown about. I think BA reflects that quite well. From a purely gaming perspective it also adds to the rock, paper, stone balance and prevents the dice off slug fest that often develops in CoC. My main objection to BA is the games last turn dash for objectives. I’d rather see a Force Morale type system. My next project is to play a CoC pint size campaign with BA rules. Anyway, keep ‘em coming, always entertaining.

    Hi Travis. Have you tried fielding 4 inexperienced squads with Lmg &VB launcher? You only pay for 3 and can use the saved points towards 1-2 squads of Senegalese tough fighters. You would need to make your officer an inexperienced 1st Lt, but with the free artillery piece, you get a "lot of bang for your buck". In larger points games, eg 1250, I've added an inexperienced Captain, keeping him out of LOS and "snapping to" with 2 artillery pieces and a Char B. Can make the centre of the board a killing zone, particularly if you're defending.

    So with your attack defend Bolt Action games what do you do to balance the scenarios. Warlord tend to to put out the the forces, points wise, the same for all games. Which for an attack/defend game makes it very difficult for the attacker.
    Nice game, hope that your health is better. Masks on for the game!!

    Artillery units do not get the small team benefit. The crew is deemed to be near the gun, which makes it easier to hit them. Flamethrowers have to roll for fuel exhaustion after firing. Your videos are entertaining, but I think you guys should read the rule book more often.

  • @jdmcdonald4258
    @jdmcdonald4258 2 года назад +1

    I think that early French squads can have maximum of 12 men, Nco +4, additional 6 riflemen plus additional man with pistol or smg. I agree with your comment re buildings being death traps if targetted by HE, but you forgot the +1 protection against small arms fire. Apologies if I seem picky, I'm amazed that you remember the majority of the rules given that you play different types of wargames. Top of the BA league.

    • @friedrichhelisch2884
      @friedrichhelisch2884 Год назад

      However, units can react and go down in buildings, which contributes to their longevity against HE.

    • @jdmcdonald4258
      @jdmcdonald4258 Год назад

      @@friedrichhelisch2884 Yes, the change in rules have made things a bit easier. You just have to resist the temptation of a juicy target until the HE threat has been used. Happy wargaming.

    Panzer 2 had such a weak Hull should be super easy to take out , french had far superior tanks. The problem was they were using them as infantry support in very small groups. While the Germans were massing them up for maximum blitzkreig effect. Panzer 2 sucked lol 😆
