Larry had a great expression when Moe and Shemp slugged him simultaneously from the phone booth. 😂 Larry also had a great expression in two short features with Emil Sitka, where Shemp is taking a picture with a view camera and he tells Moe and Larry to smile. What a silly-a** grin! 😂
At 65, the 3 Stooges still make me laugh so hard. I love sharing them with my grandchildren. I have such wonderful memories with my Dad, when watching Stooges. Favorite episodes? The train with the monkey & the Lion. Another was the museum theft with the gorilla. Wish we had great comedy in this day & age.
How about the one where, in a warehouse, Curly falls into a trough of wet plaster, gets out, shakes off like a dog, and then is walking around as a plaster hardens, scaring the hell out of Dudley Dickerson's watchman character and a couple of crooks? Curly had fun in that one. 😂
The problem was that Shemp's head stayed fairly still. Shemp did that same routine with Ichabod Slipp (Kenneth MacDonald), got knocked out and a fishbowl landed upsidedown on his head.
The Farrelly brother's worked a long time to get that movie made. Said it would come out in '04, but it didn't premiere until '12, and thanks to stuff like "The Jersey Shore" didn't age well, unfortunately. Still, nothing makes me laugh like classic Three Stooges. What a gift.
Shemp did a terrific job taking over for his younger brother Curly. Those episodes are definitely funny. But for me, the Curly episodes were (and are) the funniest. He was so gifted with natural comedic talent.
I remember watching this back when it first aired on tv and Peter Farrelly said the movie will be out in the summer of '04, only to realize it was gonna be released 8 years later.
My friend from college introduced me to “The Three Stooges” several years ago and I’ve been watching them ever since. I never get tired of these guys. 2 words: Comedy geniuses.
Awesome. Just watched this with my 11-year-old grandson. We laughed out loud when Woody fell off the balcony and ended up with a neck brace. And my grandson also enjoyed the history of these great performers.
I started to liked them when I was 6 years old. I remembered watching their shorts after school at my neighbor’s home with her son and even my sister, too. Curly came my favorite one since then.
In April 2023 at 67 the Stooges still makes me laugh RIP Boys your comedy will live on as long as copies are transferred to what ever video media is in use in the future ...

It's very tough to pick one favorite scene, because there are soooo many great ones. Favorites of mine are: • The dinner table scene in "Three Sappy People" (1939) with Ann Doran as the countess. • The pie fight scene "In the Sweet Pie and Pie" (1941), with Symona Boniface who takes a pie in the face, laughs wholeheartedly and then takes full part in the fight, and the lion hunter telling his hunting story while getting plastered with pies. • The pie fight scene in "Half-Wits Holiday" (1947). • The warehouse chase around all the crates in "Fright Night" (1947) [⬅️I should have said "Fling in the Ring" (1955).], especially what Shemp does to Big Mike when Big Mike's head is trapped in the sliding door. • The tailor shop scene at the end of "Sing A Song of Six Pants" (1947).
Mac Breck-You're thinking of the remake, Fling In The Ring, where Frank Sully replaces Harold Brauer as Big Mike, and gets his head caught in the sliding door. 😄😄😄😄😄😄
Glad to have seen this Now I have to track down all the shorts we saw in this 19 year old TV show….. Enjoyed the laughs, God knows we can use some these days
Out of all of the Shorts used in this part at 3:03. They used a 1946 short. 1946 is considered a low point in the Stooges time at Columbia, as Curly's health began to decline in October of 1943 - May 6, 1946, leading to sluggish performances, by the filming of the 1946 Shorts (filmed in late 1945 - early 1946) Curly had already suffered his first stroke (shortly after Idiots Deluxe, 1945) which didn't help matters, If a Body Meets a Body was up next and Curly was down for it, every short (with the exception of movie, Swing Parade of 1946 and short Three Little Pirates) all were filmed on a 3 day schedule (with the exception of A Bird in the Head, as Roosevelt had just passed away during the second day of filming, so every studio stopped filming for the rest of the day to pay tribute to him) leaving no breathing room for Curly, led to terrible performances, the clip that I just mentioned, came from Three Lone Wolves (1946), a short that would've normally starred Curly, but Because he was such in bad shape on the first day of filming, Producer and Director Jules White, put Larry Fine as the star and Curly as more of a background character with his Brother Moe.
I’ve been a Stooges fan since I was 3 in 1999; since then, it’s NEVER gotten old; I would always be laughing myself silly 😂The slapstick comedy routines between Moe-Shemp-Curly Howard and Larry Fine is what makes The Three Stooges the most superior comedy team compared to Bud Abbott & Lou Costello and Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy 20:29-20:58 long live Frank Sinatra 💙👑
I'm 55, still watch. Three Stooges. The wife can't stand them. I called them, my educational show. When I watch the Stooges. My wife and daughter leave the room. lol my dad in his 80s, watches. The Three stooges with me, once awhile. lol
No wonder my brother and I couldn’t wait to watch the Three Stooges after being in a strict school all day! I still think of their comedic genius and will always be a huge fan!

That was a syndicated special, originally telecast in October 1990 ["Disorder in the Court: 60th Anniversary Tribute to the Three Stooges"], and produced on the cheap- using footage from the four public domain shorts, trailers, outtakes, the 1949 TV pilot, et. al.- and loaded with contemporary guest stars {Wil Shriner, "Just Say" Julie Brown, Janice Pennington, Jeff Altman}......and Emil Sitka.
Boy,when making this biography, they really didn't get alot of the history right. They obviously didn't read any of Moe's books, listen to his audio tapes or his appearances on television when he talked about the stooges in depth .Even Moe's children, in interviews, were closer to the truth than the anniversary special. They may have taken an online poll but the nation wide poll suggests that Violent is the word for Curly was the all time favorite, with the B A bay song.

The Three Stooges I'm 62 and I still laugh and enjoy them. My wife loves to hear me laughing at them. The comedy that never gets old.
my mom alway's told me it was too violent, but deep down she loved hearing me laugh & having fun everyday after school!!
3 Pest in a mess 1 of my favs, and the phone booth scene in scrambled brains is so good.
It took me a while to warm up to Shemp but i eventually started liking him too.
My friend from college introduced me to “The Three Stooges” several years ago and I’ve been watching them ever since. I never get tired of these guys. 2 words: Comedy geniuses.
You know, they were the best. Only a few comedians could even touch them with a 10th for Pole. That's how good they were.
50yrs of pure love and joy for these gems!! THANK YOU for the memories
Loved and still love The Stooges 😂 I still remember my mom telling me to not laugh so loud!
2003 is when this came out as a tv special... It's STILL better than most current shows & movies ♥️♥️♥️

My favorite scene from The Three Stooges is from the short "Calling All Curs." It's where the Stooges are dining with the dogs! 🐕
Funny and cute 👍 I've read it was Curly's favorite! No surprise, owing to his love of doggies
When I saw this special, I knew there were other shorts that didn't air on television until now
36:59 - 37:46 This scene from “Disorder In The Court” always makes my day and makes me laugh. 😂

I've known a couple of people who claim to not like the Stooges. Their personality shows it too. Like a bunch of sour persimmons.
I recall Alan Thicke hosting a (US) primetime TV retrospective about The Three Stooges in the 1990s.

It's interesting Woody Harrelson hosted this, as he was later rumored to be cast in the remake film, while it was still in development hell.
I would just like to say that Moe being a gofer at Columbia is entirely false. He did however sell real estate.
