@@addressinggettysburg- At about the 23 minute mark he talks about as a writer- being objective. That is so spot on. It gives the writer credibility.
Great video Matt. You should be very proud of the work you have done for the NPS on these lectures. Tremendous job!

Scott Hartwig is one of my favorite historians. The work he did as supervisor of historians at Gettysburg National Military Park will last for generations. Can't wait to check this interview out.

I interned at Gettysburg for a summer many years ago. Getting the opportunity to work around Scott and see him work was like shoot'n hoops with Jordan. Scott made everyone around him better. RIP Coco!

I love how this lecture was done differently and was more conversation than lecture. Nice way to break it up

Matt is doing a great job with these video lectures. I enjoyed those in the previous years, but sometimes the audio was not clear. These new videos are perfect! Thanks, Matt!

GGGrandpa (66th OVI) had a photo book given at the 1891 reunion. He must have thumbed through it often as it is worn. It was really my gateway to the ACW as I treasured it as a kid and still do. Got Scotts books ready to go for mid Spring/early Summer read.
Great filming AG! The series has been superb this year!

Awesome Conversation/Lecture... One of the best interviews I've seen or read of an author speaking on how they researched and wrote a book. Good Job!!!

Yeah that while battlefield has an eerie feeling for me. It’s such pretty countryside, like here, and hard to imagine the carnage.

@@addressinggettysburg Tanya and I went to Sharpsburg after leaving you last August in G-burg. I wanted to see where my ancestors walked through the cornfield. It was a very surreal and, yes, eerie feeling. It was almost as if all of that shed blood from trauma both sides inflicted was still there just under the topsoil.
