The Tom Berenger Interview- AG Classic Rewind
Step back in time with us as we revisit The Tom Berenger Interview. Tom, as you may know, played "Longstreet" in the movie Gettysburg. He's also been in a host of other great films such as The Big Chill, Platoon, Major League and Rough Riders. Bo Brinkman helped me book Tom and so I let him sit in with me. It was fun to listen to them reminisce about their time together in 1992 while they filmed Gettysburg here in Gettysburg. I hope you enjoy this one.

Evergreen Cemetery with LBG Deb Novotny- Ask A Gettysburg Guide- Classic Rewind
Просмотров 46014 часов назад
LBG Deb Novotny joins us for the first time to talk about Evergreen Cemetery, the private cemetery adjacent to Gettysburg National Cemetery. "Cemetery Hill" gets its name from Evergreen. It's home to many famous names from the Battle of Gettysburg, the civilian population during the battle and even a Pittsburgh Steeler and movie actor. If you ever get the chance when you visit Gettysburg, you m...
Dance's Confederate Artillery Battalion at Lee's Headquarters with Joey Sorace! - Gettysburg 161
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.19 часов назад
Back in July, Garry Adelman kindly invited me to an event that the American Battlefield Trust was holding at their Lee's Headquarters property, here in Gettysburg. Our friend Joey Sorace was invited to join the unit as one of the gun crew and I was happy to be there to capture the moment for him. There is also a step-by-step demonstration by Dance's Artillery Battalion of the process required t...

JOIN US FOR TACOS AND TRIVIA at the Seminary! Bob Steenstra, Tim Smith, Roy Frampton and Matt braved the chilly air and sat atop East Cemetery Hill near that tree in front of Rickett's Battery and behind the Howard statue to record an show a...

"Four Score and Seven Years Before": Gettysburg In The Revolutionary War with Kenneth Gavin
I come up every year in March specifically to hear the spring peepers and think about what it was like to be a soldier in 1863, encamped on the banks of Beaver Lake, fishing and foraging, observing the rich ecosystem brought forth by its fertile waters. Always takes me back.
As a Mainer I thought it was funny when Gary said, "People think I'm a Chamberlain hater"
Little did McNair know that celebrity status awaited him. 😊
Lol
Love that antique store
Be there tomorrow at brunch at Mason Dixion Distillery
Gary is a modern day Edwin Bearss.
Thanks for a great living history demonstration. I loved my time as #3 in Byrne’s KY battery.
It is not so much about nerve as it is momentum. A cavalry charge is not a solitary act usually and you and your horse are a part of a mass of men and horses heading in a direction. There is really not a lot of time to think about it. Once the order is given, things just unfold from there.
I want more of the heavy metal w/ Tim and Garry. Such nerds. Garry, release the recording please
I would be scared out of my mind, especially if the enemy force contains battle hardened veterans. I certainly would volunteer to meet the crisis, as I feel to do nothing does not guarantee much better treatment, but I would not be confident that my contribution would amount to any real impact. Given that I am not trained, and given my injury history, I think there is ample evidence to show I would be as ineffectual as those in the 26th.
Pretend you’re 20. Now what’s your answer?
@@addressinggettysburg I would have already volunteered for the military. Now, if I was not in the military I would still be scared, but I would be stupid enough to think I would have a chance of defeating them. The thought would not cross my mind that I could die.
Such a pretty ride . Pennsylvania is a very nice state. I love pa dutch county, Amish ❤
The best food ever 😋
It’s a gorgeous state
Is swimming allowed 😅?
Fishing is. 🤷🏻♂️
sweet, tell everyone to shhh
Right?
Thanks for the dinner scenery
Thanks for doing this, Matt!
My pleasure!
Yeah I’m still waiting on the algorithm to settle down. My video views prior to June last year amazing but since the reset it just slows down.
Oh, I hear ya! Just as things were starting to return to normal, they apparently did something this month.
@ I thought something was off
Thanks for the ride.
You're welcome!
I can send some lake effect snow south to you if you'd like. I'm jealous of your 47 degrees!
Thads very kind of you, but, I think we’ve had enough for the next two years
awesome content you guys help make my day easier
Happy to do so
I think we all would like to think if our town was being invaded that you would have the metal to stand to defend the oncoming troops. Although I do feel that in the 21st century the duty to defend one’s town isn’t the same as it was in the 19th century. People today are more “ get off my lawn” and less defend our town.
I fear you’re right
I saw this notification pop up and thought Trump was sending me boys to go fight uphill.
On two occasions my wife and I had the pleasure of touring the battlefield with Deb as our guide. She is the best! Hope you are doing well, Deb.
Deb is a real gem.
Oscar Shaw married Theodore Tate's granddaughter: Mary Louisa Givler. Her mother was Ada Tate. The Marx Brother's movie was the Cocoanuts (1929).

Morning Matt
These drives are enjoyable. Sometimes I even turn the sound on!
Lol
Winter driving can be just as treacherous here in Australia. I mean sometimes you have to even turn the heater in the car on! 😂😂😂
They were rebels and should have gone to prison. Period!
"What part of the country are you in" makes me wonder how this person found themselves watching this video?!?
😂
Love these drives. Really helped during my month long hospital stay. Keep em coming.
So informational and interesting history of the Civil War .
Thank you for being so sweet with, Joey. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙂🙏🏻🙂
He’s my buddy
Love the opening, Matt. 😅🙂🙂🙂🙏🏻👍🏻
I saw it getting set up but I never saw it fully set up, they did good...
Hearing you whistle and "sing"(?) (jkjkjk), I was wondering if the Out of Towners had any upcoming releases set for the new season?
I’m not sure I’m understanding the question
The AI music group....
There was no failure at Gettysburg they just advanced in a different direction and it was called home.
Oooo. Ouch!
The correct pronunciation, according to the descendants of James Gettys, is Gett is burg. One of them was in town a few months ago and stopped at the Dobbin House and told them that’s the way it’s pronounced. Tim Smith just had a video on the correct pronunciation last week. Garry Adelman says he prefers to say Gett ies burg, like you did, but he says he knows that’s not the correct pronunciation.
Understood. But I argue that the “correct” pronunciation is accent-influenced rather than the correct way to say it in English, the language we speak. That would be Gett-ees-burg. Once it belongs to the country, as it does, the original pronunciation doesn’t matter anymore. Also, I just like to have this argument. I enjoy hearing the “correct” way. It’s quaint.
It doesn’t surprise me that these drives get so many views. We can feel like we’re there, right in the car with you, getting our Gettysburg fix. Love them! Thank you.
You’re welcome. Glad you enjoy them. I think I’ll do every show from the car from now on
This is awesome Matt. Great job made me really smile on my way home today.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey...Was Colby ever in the Marines? I feel I may have heard that he was. Maybe.
This is very informative guys. Always wondered about that.
Life changing
Loved this level of detail. Ancestor was 16th NC, Scales Brigade. Always wondered what happened.
Love these winter lectures!
Jenny Wade's father sounds like he had a bipolar disorder.
Thank you Matt for replying this! I hadn't yet discovered Addressing Gettysburg at this point.
Oh you’re welcome. I’m replaying them for the sake of people such as yourself who didn’t go all the way back to the beginning when they discovered the show. I’m glad to know it’s appreciated
Great talk
For sure. Scott is always great to listen to
Always forget Grant's victories. They had political value and moral value. Also, Vicksburg will fall July 4. Lee cannot do anything about that and OH IN IL and MO will see the Mississippi flow to New Orleans with goods and $$$ will flow North.
