Can we talk about how his garlic was just one enormous clove?
Good, it wasn't just me. What a heckin' honker of a clove.
Elephant garlic? It has a milder taste.
It's was so large I doubted myself into thinking it was something else
I’m glad you pointed this out lol. I thought it was a shallot
Yeah it made me wonder too. 😁

[Slicing sound]
[Grating sound]

[Tossing sound]
[Scooping sound]

Hahahahaha 😂❤
Eating sound 😋😋😋
Lullabies! 🤣🤣
You forgot opening package sound!
🤣🤣🤣
As an indian I m so glad I literally have all the ingredients for the first time😭 except the lotus root ... definitely gonna try
I think you can substitute it with lotus stem(kamal kakdi) which I think you can still find in most vegetable markets in india.
@@sailormoon8265 yess, what they used is the same thing, kamal kakdi... but I think it's seasonal maybe coz I haven't really seen it here, but no worries I can add other veggies like carrots and stuff,it will still taste good I think
Same
@@savani751 Yeah, it's not in seasoj rn
@@savani751 yeah I don't think it's in season lol. But tell me how it tasted so I can make it too!

It really was so peaceful watching the entire recipe. No annoying music and no talking, I love love!!! The curry looks very delicious and easy to make. Won’t be able to make the noodles from the scratch like you did, will use the ready made udon noodles from Asian store. Thanks for the great recipe.
Here in Norway we call them Chinese garlic, and you can find them anywhere.
The yea sounds at the end it’s priceless! If a chef is that happy with his cuisine it means that meal is delicious! Thanks for sharing your art with us!
Let me just point out that the garlic was an absolute unit. Rip.
Your “aah” at the end when you took a bite of the noodles. Made my day!
he actually said delicious in japanese
@@katarina7520 It didnt sound like oishi. But whatever he said sounded very satisfying.
@@rang....-._.-....0. theres another word for it, umai which can sound like umme--
there is also a pun "uma wa umai" which mean the horse is delicious
I thought that was a cow. I'm weak
Who manufactures these pots and pans? I’m in love with them!
I can't say for sure but it may be Ryoya himself ;) I think he's got an older video of him making pottery on this channel
Same here. Love the pan. Is it steel?
Thx bro. Amazing research. 🙌🏻
Word!
Apparently they are made of pure titanium, which is really interesting but *really* expensive! I think a carbon steel stir fry pan or flat bottom wok would look & function similarly to the main pan he uses.
Perfect recipe and I am gonna try it one day. I was searching for this recipe but couldnt find the authentic version. This seems authentic to me. Thanku so much.
I know probably no one ever had said this to you but nice hands bro
I show your video to my son tonight. He do not want to sleep and was crying a lot to be just with me. We had a little accident yesterday and it was sure one of the reasons he was afraid of going to bed. So I took him in my arm we sat on a good chair and I just pop your videos. They have helped me when I was at the faculty, wenn I was alone. So I hop it will calm my baby and myself to go bed.
And he loved so much when you put Oignon and things in the wok that he applause each time. It was so cute, so pure. Thank you so much. He is now sleeping like and angel. He is 15 months old but he love cooking for sure already.
This is not a cooking video! This is a meditation! This is a new dimension! I fell in love with the sounds and the sight! Thank You so much for the experience!
Wonderful as ever! These No Music edits are the best! So much peace!!
No Music? Haven’t heard such a beautiful composition & arranging in a while. Or I might tend to ignore such sounds. Not again. Beautifully crafted. Love ❤️
Food is one of the reasons I want to travel to Japan, loved it! 😋😋
A small advice.
Sauteing powdered spices in oil is a must to bring out it's flavour.
If it's whole spices, then you can dry roast it and then grind it.
Saute spices in a bit of oil and then add garlic, ginger and onions to it and saute them. Then you can add rest of the ingredients.
I am indian. So I make curry frequently.
Lol "I'm Indian, I make curry's frequently" you do know that a Japanese curry tastes nothing like Indian currys at all, right? That's why it's prepared differently. Not every dish needs this strong flavour of roasted spices.
All the weebs getting upset at cooking advice lol
There’s nothing wrong with your advice. These people are fools.
@@THEWAYSHEM0VES Japanese curry was inspired directly by Indian curry/cooking. There's nothing wrong with offering advice to enhance the flavor of the dish. If it wasn't for advice like this shared between people/cultures, a lot of popular dishes wouldn't exist today.
I am indian too and I know bit of cooking... Various curries needs various spice treatment, there is no solo way....
Much needed after studying all night. Thank you for this T__T
*watching him peel the garlic*
- hmm why is he using a shallot and an onion in the same recipe🤔
*instruction: 15g GARLIC*
- me: uhm what😳😳😳😳
How on earth did he find Garlic that big?!
I was so confused lol. I've never seen a garlic clove even remotely that big before!
Elephant garlic!
This is the second comment about mistaking the garlic for a shallot. I thought it looked nothing like a shallot. Plus shallots are rarely one single bulb. They’re usually a bigger bulb with a smaller one attached. They have a pretty purplish, pink hue.
There is a specific garlic that big. Southeast Asia calls it bawang lanang. Also shallot and garlic are two very different types I’m confused how can you all got confused
I can make the noodles and I've been making curry for my entire life😭.maybe this is destiny.I'm gonna make it today
Would you by chance either reupload or make the noodle video from a few years back? it was so relaxing. thank you for your effort.
Glad to see you post more cooking videos again! :3
To God Almighty.....this is sooooo meditative....sending love peace and blessings from the heartbeat of Africa 🇳🇬
oh my GOD why is the garlic so BIG
I once saw a big garlic and thought that too but since found out there are different kinds. Mostly belonging to two groups hardneck garlic and softneck garlic. Hardneck varieties have bigger cloves and less of them softneck varieties are what we're used to seeing in our grocery stores. There are so many kinds with different properties but that's kind of the jist of it.
You are truly an artist! Thanks for another great vid from a long time subscriber! Your recipes inspire me greatly!
meanwhile me eating the costco instant udon. lol
🤣🤣🤣
I never knew that Udon noodles are made using Indian spices. Thanks for the recipe. Will make it some day soon for sure! 😁
Isn't that the bowl you made a few years back?
Also beautiful and mouthwatering dish as always. Thank you for sharing:)
Omg I've been wait for another noodle vid from you, amazing as always ❤
The video says 14 minutes cooking time but my inexperience and limited resources in a dorm says 3 hours.
* sees all purpose flour *
“Yay, something I actually have!😃”
* makes homemade noodles with it *
“😨😨🥲”
😂
ikr
You also should habe onions though xD
@@salkedomhans nah I’d have to go to the store and get some of those😂💀
HAHAHAH this made me laugh so hard
it is indeed peaceful to watch...
This is like the perfect comfort food for a chilly fall evening. Can’t wait to try!
Thank you so much for finally showing a Japanese vegan recipe T-T
What do you mean by “finally”? He’s been cooking vegan Japanese recipes for years already! You probably meant YOU finally found his channel.
@@dreamchasingcat yup! Exactly. Sorry for the misunderstanding
So many aggressive comments on this thread lol...you didnt have to say it so harshly, yeesh
Anyone notice the golden ratio insignia on the pan? Pretty cool pan!
最後のうっめぇッ
しびれた!!
Love your video making😍😍😍😍
Wow, it really looks yummy showing your best cooking skills. Thumbs up for this recipe.
This video kinda gives off Yang Do-Hyeok vibe from the drama "Nevertheless".
I think I'll have to make this. I don't have lotus root near me, but I think I can use jicama instead. I might add coconut milk as well instead of water...
Sooo soothing, relaxing, peaceful and meditative this is… thank you for doing this.. ♥️
Idk much about culinary stuffs but I remembered I had came across a small insight vid about knifes having textures on it, just like yours. And those knifes aren't cheap at all kaka, only for professional use. Urgg you just keep making me admire you more
As an indian. I approve. Can almost taste the smooth spices on this one. The garlic-ginger is often forgotten when people try Indian cuisine or they tend to use powdered garlic-onion(?????). This would taste heavenly
This is Japanese though, right?
@@supersonicstrat ye. inspired by indian curries but definately a Japanese dish. We just love anyone who uses excess garlic and spices though xD
Liked because of the "No Music"
Your knife is so beautiful! I've always wanted a good kitchen knife set, and that one looks nicely thick with that beautiful mokume gane pattern 😍
I've never had lotus root - does it taste similar to other types of root vegetables? I'm intrigued to try it sometime. Dish looks delicious & I love the simple sounds of preparation. :)
I've had lotus roots deep fried and cooked in lotus and pork rib soup, and both times I didn't think it had very much flavor at all. It's the texture that I really enjoy though, crunchy and starchy, very close to jicama if you've had that.
@@MarinaCanFly lotus root is also a very common ingredient in Chinese cooking and while I can definitely agree it doesn't have much of a taste and the texture is what elevates it, to me it also has a slight sweetness to it, very subtle tho, which makes it great for soup. Sorry, just a very passionate renkon lover haha, I love eating lotus root whether it be in soup or fried!
I personally find lotus root to be similar to water chestnuts if you've tried those. Crunchy with a very mild flavour.
@@KolendoTV thank you for the comparison! I've never had lotus root but the texture when I hear it cut on videos reminds me of the crunch from water chestnuts and I've always wondered if the texture was similar. I've also seen people also compare it to jicama but I've never had that either. But I do know the texture of water chestnuts!
Lotus root when mixed in soup or any other liquid, takes up the flavour present in it. As an individual ingredient, it has mild to zero taste. Just crunchy and crispy. You can also fry them and make chips out of them
did anyone made this recipe? It looks great! and I think it is great that's a vegetarian option that you can use for rice as well
Ryoya san, I'm glad you started posting again. It's been a long time since I stopped seeing your video. I hope you were well and everything was alright. 頑張れ
Thank you for the dignified presentation. I'm glad there is no music. I enjoy listening to you while you make the dish. It is very relaxing. I have never seen lotus root before. I don't think it's available here. Is there something I could use instead? Thank you!
But why aren't they using the full amount of spices they recommend? When adding them they used like half of what was written.
じゃがいも代わりにレンコンで作ったので新鮮な感じでした。とても美味しいそう。
Ending: "Yeeeaah."
Hi :) definitely want to try it! What would you recommend as a substitution for the lotus root? (It will probably be difficult to find in my area…)
毎回思うんだが、表示しているグラム数と、実際のグラム数が絶対合ってないんだよなー。
特に粉物と液体類。
でも美味そうなんだよなー。
I really want to try this recipe 🤔
in this era of 30 sec long edits on socials, your peaceful videos are just A BLESSING! keep up the hard work
このチャンネルを知ってからもう5、6年経ってるけど全然飽きないし観てて凄いしいつかこんな料理作ってみたいです
Thank you your videos are like a beautiful meditation. Could you please post your cookware brands, especially the pasta maker and your gorgeous black kettle :)
Omg I was surprised as a vegetarian for once something that doesn’t include meat!
面白かった〜
そして朝からしっかりお腹空きました(笑)毎回ですが、料理機材素敵ですね、ついつい見入ってしまいます。
そして今日は私のバースデイ!素敵な動画をありがとうございます😊
Ur recipe is soooooo good!!
But umm when and where do we have to use garlic and ginger? I tried to understand where u used them but I couldn't find 😅.

I just watched a series on this and here I am .....
never seen lotus root and spinach in curry udon 😮😮
as a Malay, that chili powder wasn't enough for me, nevertheless this is a must try recipe 😲
The video is so well edited and highlighted the important parts, it's so satisfying
Fabulous 👌👌for instant noodles, one question; 😄are every Japanese household making these type of curry? Noodle are main food of southeastern part, know? But then Japanese learned " Curry? Bcoz China never cooks this way, im in surprise 😃. Thank you🙏 ( please reply, )
That's the biggest garlic I ever saw😂
I loved it your recipes..... could you please teach us how to make okonomiyaki ?

素晴らしい動画をいつもありがとうございます😊
I so want that garlic. Will save so much of my time 😍
I just made this for my boyfriend and I. It is delicious! Thank you for sharing
I looked twice whether it's an Indian you tube channel. Because we so much use these spices or masalas to make a curry... Suppose fish curry, or in any type of curry we mostly use coriander cumin powder ginger garlic chilli powder and turmeric. Yes we add tomatoes though.
Well this recipe looks super tasty and have never tasted lotus root ever. Would like to try someday.
Saya suka mie,,terima kasih
最後の「うめぇ」が最高です。
Fantastis...!!!
Wow amazing...
ほうれん草のシュウ酸は炒めるだけで無くなるのですか?
i love your vintage camera locations I felt like i was at your kitchen besides a 1 hour length and also nice work
Wow 🤩
Isn't udon dough supposed to rest before it's rolled and cut?
Always loving your videos.. its just relaxing to watch. Its my sedative. LoL🙌🏻💯
This looks so delish but i absolutely despise onions :( (and garlic) really is a problem because so many delicious dishes include both
"It squirted in my nose" lmfaooo😭
I will marry the man who can cook this for me.
this guy has what Malaysian calls agak-agak skill
I finally found a channel that gives me so much peace. Thank you. ❤️
Thats one huge garlic
Who are the ones watching this video who at any point in the near future can't try these foods 🙂🙂🙂
wow those garlics are SO BIG
Whoa. I didn’t really “get” ASMR until right now 😳
This is pretty much curry pan mee from malaysia
Thank you, your video was great. I enjoyed it. I hope you are always successful. I also teach Iranian vegetarian food
Indeed, there was something quite soothing and peaceful about the whole video. Thanks for this recipe!
aaah sisi scratch that nice burnt in onions! gnammy
Adding a pinch of salt while roasting spices enhances it's flavour!!
Never knew japanese use spices like corriander, cumin etc.. I might make this tomorrow... Let's see!! ✌️
I love that the recipe says "2 tsp" but they only add 1 tsp or it says "1 tsp" and clearly they only added 1/2 tsp lol Still a beautiful video and I can't wait to try this.
Good cooking
れんこんはカレーに入れたことないので、今度試してみます!おいしそう🤤
