- The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We sell parts and simple to follow wiring instructions for the 1uzfe engines. For enquiries email info@thecartunecompany.co.nz Take Care. Kelvin
Kelvin, hope you had a happy Christmas...Full service multi-option solutions rule!
pretty quiet here which is really nice. Cheers Kelvin
And I got another question/help so I bought my engine for $300 because there were no valves. I got valves and I’m putting it all together but he gave me all the cam followers/buckets in one bag. Do you have a diagram? Of what height is supposed to be in each one or an estimate thx so far ur a life saver best uz channel
Hi Kelvin
Sorry this is a bit off-topic, recently came across your channel and absolutely love the content, I have a 3uz of my own and recently blew the head gasket at high temps
I really want to start doing all the work on my motor myself, do you have any videos of a head gasket replacement.
Merry Christmas
We have some coming on fitting heads on a 3uz but most likely a few months away. Cheers Kelvin
My ucf20 a340 transmission has randomly stopped going into O/D any idea what the issue is? Fresh type iv Toyota atf fluid was put in but no difference annoyingly.
solenoid?
ok. If I was to look at this car I would do the following. Id confirm the ecu is seeing the D-3 switch on pin A28. I would confirm the ecu commands for the solenoids. Most likely the solenoids would have resistance checks and maybe a manual shift test. I would also be looking at the transmission temp sensor readings. If this fails then the ecu will lock out overdrive. I'd also be checking the condition of the ecu itself. Within these tests the issue will be revealed. Cheers Kelvin
@@CartuneNZ cheers ill get right on it!
I built a relay and fuse panel wiring set up as per your ucf20 wiring instructions. Can you think of any reason the car would fire for a a second then turn off?
Didn’t really understand the whole “loop” situation without the fuel resistor found the hand drawn instructions quite frustrating if I’m honest
Normally a start and stop is a faulty coil or air flow meter issue.
Are you running the stock fuel pump resistor? Do you know about the fuel pump resistor circuit the stock ucf20 vehicles run?
I’m running no fuel resistor just a single speed pump. In your instructions it says resistor or loop ive looped mine. So pin 87 on my circuit opening relay is going to 86 87 and 30 on the fuel pump relay ie “loop”
Motor runs fine with straight power to the pump but goes Into limp mode without the ecu controlling fuel.
Merry Christmas to you.
would you able to do this for 3uz 186 crown auto? just to start up on the floor , thanks for your videos and have a happy new year
Yes we use the same unit with a universal connectors as the 186 crown has a funny body connector. Cheers Kelvin
Happy Christmas Kelvin!!! Can this be done with a UCF 10 as well?
I have had both the early UCF10 and the later UCF10 for many years now. We use them on all out own jobs as well as selling them. Cheers Kelvin
@@CartuneNZ I have the original UCF 10 ECM. I replaced the capacitors in it, and it's working great now. Can I somehow upgrade the ECM to read OBD2 codes, or do I need to get a newer ECM?
My ECM is a 1994 model year.
Nice video, but I have a little problem to understand you language. Do you have any wiring diagram with basic circuit? I have 1UZ from LS400 ´93 Europe (Spain).
I sell information for wiring of most 1uz engines in swaps and it can be used for diagnosing on stock vehicles. Cheers Kelvin
Uz Jesus speaking gospel
Thanks for the compliment. Cheers Kelvin
How do I go about buying wiring diagrams from you?
Flick us an email on info@thecartunecompany.co.nz and we will sort it once we are back from our summer break in a few weeks time. Cheers Kelvin
