I'm thankful for all of you meeting and giving me the opportunity to support your channels as well since you are in a similar mindset like Tova and Mathias. I'm very much into herbs and nutrition and their healing effects on the body, and my husband and I are hoping to obtain land next year and take the leap into homesteading here in Eastern, Ontario Canada. Thank you so much for your videos. Do not worry about unfinished projects. It comes from wanting to do so much, having many things that would make your lifestyle better - Just keep moving forward. Over the span of your videos I have seen great progression. The only thing you would have to worry about is stopping and not moving ahead - that is the only way you would really fail. Huzzah for you both (you three)!

Don't sweat the unfinished projects. There will always be unfinished projects. Down the line the projects you got done years ago will need refinishing. We've had our home for about 24 years. The first project we tackled was the kitchen. Now, we desperately need to redo it. The tiles are worn, the cabinets need refacing, appliances need to be replaced...etc. The key is not to feel defeated. Just do your best, and take one day at a time, and work on the most pressing projects. You'll get there. The great thing is that you are documenting everything, and one day, you can look back and see how far you've come. You are so inspiring! Keep up the good work.

My grandparents worked Östbergsbuan, in Bergs socken. I was there when I was like 3, in the 60s.

I think for being there for nine years and only really being sure that you wanted to stay there for 7 years- I'm so impressed with what you have done and the way you are thinking about living there and making a livelihood... living a good life and raising your family. You have learned so much about and established a way to provide food and shelter for yourselves and learning about how to live in that environment especially surviving the winters. I know it will take more years to finish these projects but when it's done it will be an amazing Homestead! I think you are an amazing family and I appreciate what you're doing! thank you, for sharing!

I grew up with a Swedish mother and quarter Swedish father (his mother was half) and I can totally relate! You go into a Swedish home, and it is always, "Have something to eat! Did you get enough to eat? Have some more!" And yet we were all small and muscular. 😂 Food and music and fellowship!

There are some unfinished projects, but Nova and Mathias has achieved so much. They can be very proud, especially of being so wonderful parents for Ivar.
They're right, you learn as you go. I remember the first few video's and you were wondering if it would work out for you, because it is so much work learning to operate the camera, editing and all of the technical details. Now look at everyone! Watching Ivar grow up, seeing him run with the animals, and how the sheep seems to watch out for him, and he has no fear of the animals. It will be fun to see him with a tool belt on one day, working right next to his father.

I have never seen the you tube channel of Kalle and Christina, only yours. It is nice for you to share the social side of the you tube world and to enjoy friend ship. It seems odd to me to have visitors and spend a lot of that time recording the aspects of the visit. I of course don't live in a you tube world, just love that you share the things you do. Your life is very inspiring and helps me remain calm in mine.

You guys may, or may not, have heard of an American named Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms, but he specializes in "closed system farming" and would be, I think, a great resource for you to get the most out of your farm with very little land and using each type of animal to benefit each other while improving the land. There are tons of video resources for him on Ytube and he has books, classes etc..

I started watching your video on my big screen TV and it reminded me so much of raising my family in the remote bush in Alaska that I had to jump on my phone to send you this news that you had made me reminiscent of beautiful cherished moments in my life raising my family very much the same as you guys are. We had Irish Wolfhounds instead of huskies but many of our friends had huskies and Malamutes! And all the beautiful children and the Beautiful Fellowship! Much love y'all! Another tip, place a waterproof membrane, plastic sheet, on top of the joists and block layer, then some concrete before placing the mesh reinforcing while it's wet.
If you had still photos of so many of your scenes I'd love to have some. Once we have watched so many of your videos the photos would have so much meaning. How about a calendar? Someday maybe!! You can include the scene of you all sitting around the table.

I see that you close captioned a few scenes here and there in this episode which is awesome! I really wish you'd turn on youtube's auto CC for English subtitles. The automatic ones are getting better and better so it would work to translate some of the Swedish too, but also for deaf people it would be good to read and reach them as well.
Auto english subtitles are always turned on by deafult. But it sometimes takes a while for it to generate. So if one needs it, one have to wait for a day or so before watching.
Ive been watching your youitube vloggs and i feel happy watching the naturalness of your environment. Moreso that winter time is really very cold in your location. You have survive the harshness of nature beautifully. God bless your family.

Interesting and enjoyable, thanks. You are right to be concerned about the concrete roof on your cheese store. How to make it strong enough to stay up without props or pillars. My partner suggests using reinforced concrete joists with blocks that fit together to fill in the gaps. The joists are specially made to accept the blocks. They slot into place, a sheet of metal mesh reinforcing goes on top. Then the concrete is poured onto the mesh. A curved roof might be eastheticly pleasing, but risky and harder to do safely without engineering stress analysis calculations.
The Italians were famous for arching their roofs to provide strength to keep the roof strong
A very much different video this time but refreshing to see there are soul mates in Sweden out there!
