What a fantastic song! I was teaching ten year olds about Hanukkah today. The children LOVED singing along with this song while they made their own dreidels.
Whenever it is a holiday me and my friends persuade our teacher to play this song, and everyone in the class sings along and dances. We love you maccabeats!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember in my first year of Hebrew school the rabbi played this on the computer before Hanukkah. Currently in my last year of Hebrew school but I will never forget this song and will always keep learning Torah 🙏✡️🕍
I' m not a Jew ,however this is so nostalgic. My teacher once played this and I just remembered it and spreads a nice holiday message and lightened the mood in lockdown.😃
Hello Maccabeats! I am unfortunately in Covid quarantine for the duration of Chanukah, and this song really picked me up! Happy Chanukah to all of you, and hatzlachah on your learning and chesed! Hashem should continue to shed his light on all of us!

@@momkestner you said 'kids' not that one specific kid. That's implying that every kid on the planet wants to hear Candlelight by the Maccabeats when they are not Jewish and it is not Channukah.
Thank you Israel for preserving the Word and Jesus. My boys came home from school and said they didn’t want to listen to Christmas songs while we make Christmas cards tonight because we should listen to Hanukkah songs instead. I found another playlist before this one with accordion classical is how I can describe it. This pop song remake was a lot of fun. We played it on repeat. My boys told me about the helper candle in the middle of the menorah. Good work on the song lyrics and video. You all have beautiful voices. Keep up lifting your voices in praises to the Lord. God protect and keep you safe. Amen.
This popped up and my brain just flashed back to nine years ago and I remember this video so vividly and when I first watched it, the first time this little Jewish boy had the perfect song to dance to. Great memories! Thanks for this amazingness!
My husband just texted me from the waiting room, irritated by the Christmas mix playing so I'm making him an alt-Christmas list. This is first. Such a banger.

You guys have your own holidays. Jesus didn't even celebrate Hanukkah. Now if a Jew invited you to celebrate that's diffrent. But to straight up light a hanukkiyah or hold your own seder is massively offensive to many if not most Jews. Stick to Christmas. If a Jewish friend invites you to Hanukkah party tho you can go. The Hanukkiyah is a special object it's not for Christians to toy with
@@RevolutionaryFeministVideo The other poster is correct. Jesus did not celebrate Chanukah because it really did not become part of Judaism until centuries later. I changed my mind. October 7th TERMINATED any ppm (parts per million) sympathy left for Arabs, Palestineans, Muslims or whatever they call themselve!!! Their unhuman crimes have not been a declaration of war just to Israel but to EVERY living being that exists!!! ❤❤❤🇮🇱❤❤❤
What's incredible is, these types of videos you don't see "Free Palestine" comments in the comment section. The supporters of Palestine CLEARLY do not know history if they are notorious for commenting that type of stuff yet you see none of them here, or for example anything Maccabean related. The suffering of the Hebrews should not be tolerated, and it's insane how it's still normalized today. I will always stand with Israel, the Hebrews suffered more than any other race in humanity. They deserve to go in peace. Long live the State of Judea and Israel! ✡️🕎 Shalom! 🇮🇱
We done a Hanukkah assembly in year three and we all sang this sing! It is so good! Lotte, age nine. I love your song we sang loads of them and we are a public school!
This song was playing on my laptop while I was ordering my new kippah - it’s got a picture of Jacob and his oil candle that lasted 8 days on it! Can you belive it lasted that long… the picture is embroidered in silk that is used for my sleeping masks - very expensive. I celebrated the sabbath day with my friends and family today… my highlight of the week was definitely taking a run across hyde park in the morning which was very very beautiful I looked to my left and saw the wonderful sunset and the lake and to my other side was the first covered fields. My it was beautiful, yet nothing beats the dinner I had! I’m taking a detox from alcohol and doing more running so in my kiddish cup was grape juice… LOL #proudtobejewish
Everybody's surprised that they like a song from a different religion and I'm just amazed that in the world we live in today anybody is respectful enough of another ethnicity that they are prepared to watch a song from it.
I love these guys. I never cease to admire their passion. Also, something about "The war went on and on and on until the mighty Greeks were gone" just makes me feel really good. One thing that really stands out to me here is Ari's solo during the bridge. At least I think his name is Ari. Whatever his name is they don't really feature him much, but his voice is GORGEOUS! And that comedy bit at the end isn't half bad either.
