When I'm feeling down I pick up one of my guitars and it picks me up. I have a new lady in my life and so I'm not feeling down and I still pick up my guitar for inspiration! Keep your head up and keep moving forward mate! Sounding good buddy!
You personally have not been made redundant, it's the job which you were doing which became redundant. Recognising this is the case makes a big difference in terms of how your self esteem enables you to deal with such a situation, in order to maintain your mental well being instead of taking it personally and getting down about it. On the immediate face of it, it's a setback to be sure, but in the longer term it is an opportunity; when you realise that, you'll make your situation better than it was, and it'll doubtless turn out to have been a good thing. You can't keep a good man down; it just can't be done.
I've been made redundant 3 times in my career. On the first two occasions for me, like everyone I know who got made redundant, it all worked out for the better. The last occasion, a couple of months ago, I decided feck it I'll just retire, I'm 66 after all. But it still stung and on the previous occasions it was worrying, but it all worked out for the better in the end. Keep your chin up and keep fighting. Your playing is actually pretty good mate!
Sorry to hear that Rich. It happened to me 4 years ago and I'm in a better place now. I'm so sure you will pass through it, get stronger and find yourself in a much better place soon. You are not alone mate.
Sounds great mate! I know it’s hard but you will pick yourself up and find something better at which point you can give the metaphoric middle finger to where you were at before
Over the years I’ve been laid off a number of times, I’ve been in companies that have gone under - in all cases I ended up realising soon after that it was a good thing as it led to me finding something better. Brighter days ahead, keep smiling.
Mate, I feel your pain. I was made redundant end of 2019 After 20 years in the textiles industry. It is an awful feeling but there are plenty of other things out there, I have spent the last 4 1/2 years retraining to be an electrician ( full apprenticeship) at an age where even I thought was too old to learn something new but it was the best decision i made albeit a challenging time monetary wise. You seem a very similar character to myself with your youtube videos and your personality that you display and i am sure like me you will persevere. Onwards and upwards mate, see it as an opportunity to achieve something different I know you can do it. All the best Sam.
Aww thank you Sam, that’s kind. Happy for you that you’ve got into something else completely different. That’s something I need to do sooner rather than later
Remember Rich that it's your job that has been made redundant, not you!!!
Thank you Graham 🙏
No one can keep a good man down ! Stay strong !
This is the best and most atmospheric music you’ve ever played !
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much ☺️
Happened to me twice, in the same industry, and I then decided to do something completely different, and it was fantastic! All the best, Rich.
Thank you 🙏
that's some soulful playing. Hang in there
Thank you 🙏

Not good news Rich, You did the best thing and expressed it in some fine moody guitar playing, think they call it therapy.
Thank you Mark
9 years ago, after my department had a record sales year, they closed the department. Be determined. Things will rebound.
