Josh and I review and hang the new boiler from Navien, PLUS we check out the Navicirc which allows us to have a secondary return for a combi boiler...I know that's mental!

I was just designing a system using Combi Boiler with a 90Litre unvented indirect cylinder so I can have a secondary return using a Combi boiler... best of both worlds constant hot water and instant hot water... doing research and not finding anyone who has done this but I don't see why not... I came across this video... this might be the better option!!
been fitting the Navien oil boiler for a couple of years now after nearly dying taking a grant combi up a set of stairs on my own, brilliant kit, fitted my first NCB700 yesterday, also brilliant bit of kit
You should watch ‘Mikey Pipes’ RUclips videos on Navien boilers.
Cheaply made in Korea. Combustion burner seal usually leaks straight out of the box. Plastic sump turns to an oily gunk after only a couple of years.
Popular in the USA though. Let the ‘mercan’s keep em!
Navien yeah seen lots about them from American installer Mikey pipes
Have problems with leaking products of combustion inside boiler from new
But they as all manufactures will not accept liability
You need to watch his RUclips channel eye opener
Sorry bud, just see your comment and I too watch Mikey pipes and I wrote pretty much the same as you.
A very good Saturday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset
I've just recently had a Navien 'blue flame' oil combi installed. I'd never heard of the company before but they're huge in the states.
I'm now curious if my one has this hot water feature but I'm sure the fitters would have told me.
There isn’t a second pump in an LCB700
People acting like a secondary return on a combi is a new and innovative thing 🤣 been doing this for years, standard bronze pump and motion sensors in the bathrooms & kitchen, pipe stat on the return to knock it off once the return is warm. Looks like a good boiler though, OpenTherm and 15:1 modulation. Going to need a huge gas supply though!
Can you do a vid on Navien oil boilers please? Cheers
So this isn't how to get hot water from a combi. This is HOW TO BUY A NEW BOILER FROM NAVICIRC
Looks ok apart from the fact that any old numpty can remove the casing without any tools. Also the front casing seal doesn’t look great on the side shot just after you take it out the box 😮
What would be the cost too install 👍👍
There is actually a Nuaire fan model called “Dave”
Wouldn't you need to fit a check valve before the boiler feed to stop back flow ect?
Yes you do, it is just left of the mini expansion vessel on the mains supply from the left (hard to see on the video).
Interesting but a bit of a gimmick IMHO you still need a decent flow rate to run several showers at once much better off having flue recovery system, liking the Intergas boilers which have this with simpler design.
You haven't mentioned the central heating ?
I'm not a plumber and easily confused... The "Navicirc valve" is external to the boiler and re-directs the heated water back towards the input to the boiler... As it's fed back to the boiler input, what gives it priority over the mains water coming in...? Plus, couldn't you just plumb the "Navicirc valve" or something similar into any combi setup...
Leave alone
On the navien channel. It says just connect hot and cold to the recurculation valve. (Check it out) would this not cause legonaires issues? As it would be warming the cold drinking water
Wouldn't you be taking the cold drinking water off before it reaches the boiler? Not necessarily, no, but you could do?
Have they gone bump? The link to website is no longer there.
At 16:10 Josh makes reference to "barrel pipe" as unsuited to a secondary return. I'm not sure what this reference means and would appreciate a heads-up on it.
What I mean by barrel pipe - is that some plastic pipe comes with a single layer but barrel pipe has two layers. Because secondary return pipes are continuously hot the non barrel pipe starts to disintegrate.
@@joshtappin3269 I think you mean barrier pipe.
so am corrrect in saying the boiler just keeps a loop of semi hot water available until you want it, not sure its a great idea if so
I'm thinking that also.
What's the warranty on this boiler?
where can I get Navien NCB500 Gas Condensing
Combi Boiler 37kW, 41kW Chessington Surrey KT9 2ND
"We're not allowed to tell you that sort of thing" - a bit like modern cars have no consumer full workshop manual. I do wonder what's safer: letting someone who's going to have a go anyway do it blind, or potentially encouraging people by giving them instructions? 🤔
it's called the destruction of freedom. the subscribtion based life. The liberal new world order. YOu will rent everything, and you will own nothing, AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY.
WHAT? Do you have children? If so do they sit in your car? You have a license one would think yeah? Do you blind fold them or not talk to them about how a car works or how to drive it.
@@IWANASLAPTHAT parents? telling children how anything works? In 2022? PFFFT. Parents shove head in smartphones like ostriches.

What is your favourite oil boiler sir?
I love Grant oil boilers.
How can I send you a little video? (Plumbing related… don’t get too excited 😂)
Try getting parts for them when they go wrong . Good luck !
As far as I'm aware (heard from navien rep) navien pay the installer or local engineers a fixed price to repair them and send out the parts to site..
@@brendanfisher2528 I heard they have just been swapping the boiler than repairing them!
Interested to know what oil boilers you recommend?
I've recently had a Navien oil boiler fitted. It's an LCB700 blue flame combi and we're very impressed with it. Has many features that you won't get on a Worcester for example.
Not Worcester for sure. I fit grants, mostly bullet prove as long as it’s looked after.
@@ebebop Grant warranty isn’t worth the paper it is printed on. Would you swap a 36/46 Grant out (1 yr old) for £200. That’s what they offered me (original 36/46 a year old, manufacturer defect).
Worcester give a longer warranty and more importantly, back it up unquestioningly with people on the ground.
We also fit Navien oil and gas, have mixed views on these.
Navien for combi, Hounsfield or EOGB Sapphire for everything else
Been doing this for years in commercial
The secondary return accessory has been available for decades in the USA. Across all boilers, even Walmart sell them.
Legionella concerns in the UK prevent the cold water supply being exploited for a hw return. Consequently Navien need a hw return separately run in the UK.
Which leaves the secondary return pump controlled by the boiler the only new thing here.
This is not quite the same as the secondary return on larger domestic/commercial because it is a combi with no significant water storage.
Looks like this boiler works on a cogenerating principle.
2:19 side view, seal looks poor. offset pipe connections, not a good idea for installation (jig better option). Navicirc not ideal for many installations in the UK, where there are more than one circuit, its only ideal if installed like the demo image you put up, so its extra pipework to install, extra gas, extra time to install, initial more cost to the customer, possible faults in future, also seen many USA videos about the boiler make, and not that good really, various different faults. did you not want to tear it down?? (3 showers at once - what flow rate on each??, as most UK properties are an average of 17 L/min, that will not do 3 showers) i would not buy one. Tear down vid next?
The whole point of the NaviCirc is to be able to have recirculation without having a dedicated return. Instead, the NaviCirc will use the cold water feed to function as the return. This video sorta confuses and negates the whole point.
Barrel pipe? Do you mean barrier pipe?
Whats m3/hour rating for the 54kw model?
Do you calculation about 4.98 however it would probably peek at 56-58kw
@@ebebop that seems a bit short. A Worcester bosch greenspring 47kw is 6.03m3/h
@@D_pawson that’s 65kw
Exactly think commercial gas for a start I’d say!
@@D_pawson Your confusing input and output.
all those features and it's just a grand? Wow. Smartphones cost more nowadays!
balanced flue?
It’s a fan assisted balanced flue. Back to college for you.
@@davidegan3650 balanced flue not a flue without a fan? Same pressure both sides?
@@davidegan3650 fan assisted imbalanced flue 😂
Another nail in the coffin for British manufacturing.
@4:56 hehe
They leak out the box.
For me I’d put that under my bin lid…!
Mikey pipes killed this boiler because it's 🐕💩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You need to do some homework on navien. There crap.
This video is very misleading, alot of incorrect information.
Looks like an alpha,
Junk
Rubbish boiler don’t buy
