We were on an 80ft boat years ago at the Dry Tortuga's and our anchor line got fouled on the props and the seas were about 5-6 feet. Matt had to dive under the boat during the storm at night time to get us unstuck. It was NOT a fun experience being stranded.
i bet haha fun times out on the boat and lifelong memories
@@WillFixThat wow I bet the adrenaline was at ten on that one, the roll n pitch of the boat had to be tough to work around, 5 to 6 footers are no joke no matter how far apart. Matt n Keri are warriors.
@@captainmichael787😂 yeah wasn’t fun … at the time.
@@DaDuddaMan64 it sucked …. Was a terrible experience very scary. Matt was the only one that could go in the water and we had nothing attached to him and the boat rocking and rolling with the waves. He was able to get the props free and we get to talk about it today. We are very lucky no one got hurt!
Always good to learn from others experiences, thx!
Always amazed how much knowledge you and your team have. Great video. Keep up the great work. Looks like the business is going well. Going to need a new and bigger shop soon! Be safe.
Hopefully not a bigger shop just means more stuff.
HA!
Above water line - regular Plastic thru hulls - no, Marelon (or equivalent Is there one?)yes, metal, yes if grounded
Does it help to tie a fresh water line into the barb on the drip less rings to flush out debris? Or will make a hill a beans?
Thanks for posting.😊
You're welcome.
That Tender lift is the worst idea I have seen, it's accident waiting to happen. Wow
Another great video. Thank you.
Quick question how do you send videos what app do you use?
Hello guys. I love watching 👀 you doing your stuff, brilliant job. Keep up the great work, buddy. By the way, that Rope chain you're wearing, looks classy, and very nice lol. 🥰👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We’ve had these chains for over 20 years.
I have a small Grady, single engine Yamaha. She's never let me down. My first boat however was an I/O sport craft. I used seatow so much the Capt (Chris) knew me by name, he'd say sit tight Rick we'll be right there. My advice to all boaters by a tow membership it's worth every penny. Thanks for the content Keri n Matt I enjoy your stuff, you n the Crooked Pilot House are my favs. I've learned a lot watching both channels. Catch um up guys.
Thanks, glad you enjoy the content. Thanks for watching our live show.
Good video Matt. Can’t wait for the next one.
Coming soon! Thanks Mitch.
One of many seatow last resort used my live well pump as a bilge pump keep me from sinking thru hull cracked bilge pump quit removed hose from seacock let the live well fill and run out overflow
Sounds like you got creative with a problem!
The life of owning a boat. Maintenance on electrical components is none stop especially in a saltwater environment. I think the wifey could of came out of pretend retirement and fixed all that 🤣🤣🤣
Boat maintenance is on going especially in salt water.
So glad we sold our boat
😂😊
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Hello from the Keys.
Both sides of the rotor that was dropped are factory lapped to precision flatness by PYI. If you dinged an edge or face, you must have put that side outward, but these rotors have two lives, one on each face.
1979 ... 30 miles east of Palm Beach Inlet, headed to West End, GB ... blew a belt. Used my wife's pantyhose to get me the thirty-five miles I needed. That GM 350 / 260 was workhorse .... only trouble I ever had and that was my fault.
Pantyhose love that.
Great video Capt. I’m sure you figured out the dingy lift , but couldn’t you have put a cable on the arms which would in fur pull the boat further forward and shift the weight towards the bow?
Wait a minute, looks like the battery cable on the Cat was not Marine Grade, I saw only copper color on the wire, no tin coating!
Why did that catamaran battery cable end look like someone just crimped the end with big channel locks lol 😂
Probably a DIY.
@WillFixThat sounds about right
My family owned smaller runabouts when I was a youngster, we were fresh water river and lake fishermen. With that experience and watching boating videos for the last few years and particularly your channel, I have come to a conclusion. The only thing more expensive than having your boat maintained properly by good professional techs… is NOT having your boat maintained properly by good professional techs and, as importantly, it is far more dangerous. Once in the mid 60s we had the lower unit of the Mercury OB essentially explode at almost full speed. We were stuck ,dead in the water, and in the dark ages prior to cell phones, decent walkie talkies or Tow USA. Fortunately the lake was calm and we were in sheltered waters, we rowed until we were close enough to hail my grandfather who was fishing in an adjoining bay and got towed back to the cabin. Rule #1, for runabouts, maintain your engine, and particularly keep the lower unit of an OB well lubed and in good shape. Oh - and don’t forget the emergency paddles. We think some fishing line cut may have cut the seal and Dad missed it when he inspected to boat for the season. If I would ever have the good fortune to visit the Keys I would like to say hello.
We often never bothered with any power when out sailing.😂.
Sure but you’re planning to have it that way it’s different when it’s not planned.
There's a pretty simple process to copy the waypoints to google earth or excel spreadsheet and then convert for use in a mfd. You should be able to transfer the waypoint data to card or a computer. Another option is to have the owner create the waypoints in Google earth, then they can be converted for use in a mfd.
Good morning
Good morning ☀️
Are the clamps stainless steel on the boot ?
Anything salt water is always stainless
30 mile offshore port Canaveral 21 ft proline cuddy cabin lost all power at helm thank god for leatherman proline put main connector under glovebox right under drain hole that corroded pins. Pulled engine wires out of plug twisted together zip tied a bait bag around bare wire and made it back to port
Glad you made it back. Sounds like an adventure you won’t forget!
In some of the videos I can’t help but notice how unorganized some of the wiring is. The sailboat with the poorly crimped lugs is a good example. I’m immediacy suspicious of wiring that is not well organized and secured. Pet peeve.
Just wait Chris sent me a video on Friday of a boat that had all red wires. How are we supposed to get a job done quickly? What a mess.
19:40 - "they didn't do a good job". Crazy--this stuff can be life or d3ath and sad to see someone getting paid to do it doesn't do it correctly--well, I guess we can be glad they aren't an airplane mechanic.
Not sure what you’re referring too?
Unfortunately it happens often that we have to fix after someone else.
Access is so difficult sometimes. Good job.
It sure is …. Crazy sometimes.
