@@E-bikeguyNice video. I have an Aventon Aventure 2 ebike, the throttle is factory set for 20 mph. Is it possible for me to increase my throttle speed?
@rbcapbustditto thank you,, well the throttle speed is set by the controller software, and shunt mod will get you there faster.
I have a Hidoes B10 which I believe has the same controller in this video. I am really not technical minded. Could I just purchase a new controller to gain more power?
My 45 Amp controller can take 80+ volts.

Shunt mod, cool man! I would also tell people to discharge the caps with a flathead screwdriver first before messing around too much inside the controller housing. I recently opened a tiny 48V controller to diagnose it and when I discharged the capacitors it let out a seriously massive spark, that wouldn't be fun to touch 👍
Thanks bro you made a good point with the capacitors, for some reason I touched the back by accident too and didn't even think about touching the battery wires together to discharged them , they do give out a loud spark lol even when you connect battery with anti spark xt90 still spark, I know on a 72v battery .
Great advice..
Thanks! That's very nice to hear, I didn't know it was possible to discharge them.
I remember a capacitor from an old camera once punched a hole in my finger with a flash.
@@Bergwacht lol me too I disassembled a disposable camera and I messed around and touched the ends of the capacitor and boy it gave me one hell of a shock, it blew my mind that 2 AA batteries and one capacitor can generate that much juice 😅

So I'm wondering I just bought the movcan v30 Max, for a good little bike to get me around in the winter, I've got a 28 amp controller and a 40 amp controller both are from my other bikes I own, I'm wondering if I could put at least the 28 amp controller in this they give it a little more power and speed? It only comes with a 21 amp controller and from all reviews it only gets up to about 28, I'm not sure if it has a double controller or how it's set up but I wonder if it would work? I'd like to give it a try though but I don't want to destroy the bike haha
Nice , I have a Q20 Pro AWD with 52 volt dual batteries and dual motors , would that work with this bike also ??
I have a Amyet V9-g60 and It will not go past 27mph no matter the settings.
I want to keep my 48v battery and still run it at 36v but have a higher top speed.
Which controller should I consider for a more "plug and play " setup?
Hello Ebike guy . I am building an 8000 watt 72volts battery and would like a detailed schematic drawing of yours to emulate. Thanks in advance.
Ima do this mod ima also put metal gears on my 1200 watt motor
Is this safe thow, or could i risk blowing up my controller.

Im tempted to try this on my 13a controller the size of a pack of cigarettes but I would have to calculate the shunt resistance i need to make it 20a max, not 40a, because my BMS is 15a with a 30a fuse.
I would go into the upgrade death spiral because i need a stronger BMS to supply the shunt mod controller.
Lately every repair/upgrade i do causes something else to break. Lol
Oh wow, this controller was great after I did the mod but no where near the power of the new controller we just installed
@@E-bikeguy, yes, your controller is 15 Mosfet so it seems ready for amps. I think mine are 6-9 mosfets in all my controllers. My Votol is rated at 32a but you can set it for 45a or higher if you want.
Oh ok yes I know for the most part that all controllers are not the same I guess got lucky that this controller can take more abuse than others
Bro I need to set up for my Anioki A8 pro Max 52v dual motor. 3,600 Watts combined. 45 mph. Definitely need more. I would pay you to just pick out what I would need and send it to me, to get more torque and speed out of this bike. Probably just need an aftermarket dual controller. Can you run higher volts like 60v? The motors don't seem stressed at all.
What I mean is just pick out the equipment I'll need and send me the info.. and I would pay you to crack the code on what would work for this bike. Keep in mind this will be the first one that's modded properly.

Ok keep me posted
@@hank_Reardon , if you are saying you bought a 14s Li-ion pack (52v) and want to buy another to put in series 28s, 104v nominal, 118v fully charged, then you will definitely fry everything, the controller, the display, and accessories that are wired off battery power.
63v caps are for 48v nominal.
80v caps aee for 60v nominal.
100v caps are for 72v nominal.
You can get away with 63v capacitor for a 60v Li-ion (67v peak charge) if you are lucky, eventually it will pop if the charger is left connected after the light turns green (as it should be occasionally to balance the cells).
The other big problem is charging them, you will need to plug in two 18s li-ion chargers (or charge one then the other, taking twice as long).
If you bought a kit with a controller, display, (dc/dc converter optional), you need to see what the supported voltage is. Many controllers and displays allow you to select 48v/60v/72v but if you plug in 117v, you will need a new display and controller.
So if you didn’t get what you ordered you will be better off using the return policy (unless you need to pay shipping to China) and get what you want, 5000w motor, 72200 (72v controller), and 72v battery (or two side-by-side connected in parallel not in series). Even with that you might sill need to open then and upgrade them from 60a to 100a each.
If you use just one battery you see what EbikeLife had to do to make it capable of bursts of 200a. The Chinese assembles the cells wrong so he had to bridge over the single strip series connectors because they are only good for 30a, at 60a they were getting hot, at 100a they were smoldering, and 200a they burn in half.

I have 1 question dying to no. How will it affect the battery. I saw 1 video where a guy shunts his control, but claims he had to replace fuse in battery. And iv seen others like yours and. No one mentions the battery. I have an old controller, and i want to try to shunt it but don't want to wreck our blow-up any fuses on battery.
It depends on the battery, since it will draw more amps so you you have a 30a or less battery I would not recommend it
@E-bikeguy 30 ok thanks i will keep in mind.
I just bought a juiced bike ripcurrent and it has a 25 amp controller. Would it be safe to do this mod? I don't want to fry it because it takes a special controller and I don't think they're in stock. I know it will void the warranty but that's not a big deal to me as I can do the repairs but it's getting the parts. You can't just use any controller because of the torque sensor they use on juiced bikes. I have a phaserunner controller but it's not compatible with the torque sensor I don't think. I'm still doing research. I sent grin tech an email but haven't got a response yet. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Yes the sunt mod will help definitely in power and you would fry it. When you open the controller up make sure you see the sunts should be located in the back of the controller. And just solder them together but if you can locate them. Then the mod might be the best solution. But most low end controllers or mid range should them. You will be 50 amps then

Yes as long as your controller have shunts
How did it go? I have the 1000w 20a version was it worth it?
@notme9916 it was awesome in fact I sold that controller to a customer
Damn how fast you get going?
Pretty fast, I can definitely say that lol
can existing 20amp 48v controller handle upgraded battery of 48v 60ah lithium ion battery? will controller get smoked or function without issues?
No, it will be fine the battery can supply the controller with plenty of power the controller can only pull what it's designed for so if battery is 160a but the controller is only 20amps it will only pull 20amps
@@E-bikeguy thank you for clearing that.
@@E-bikeguy battery is 13s 48v 60ah with bms 48v 60amp and connected to controller 48v 20amps. will this bms work without issues?
@@magnum44pi11 you will have no problems...
@@E-bikeguy so after connecting this 48v 60amp bms cutoff on 1st run as it reached 41 kmph. there was no power output from the 48v 60ah and once charger was connected to the battery to charge it. then its showing voltage again on the discharge cables. now im putting a 48v 100amp daly bms
Excellent video. Doing a shunt mod on a 25A controller how many amps will I increase?
Thank you 💯 I'll say about 50amps after the shunt mod
Hi, does the shunt increase battery consumption?
Most definitely. @@drowsy231
hey, i have an ebike from alibaba, 1000w hub motor, 52v dual batteries. 52v controller, if i was to do this mod what downsides or risks am i facing? because it seems like a 5minute mod to increase the speed and power but theres gotta be downsides if that doesnt come straight from the factory, im really tempted to do this if its safe for the bike overall
The risk, that will will be more current being pulled from your battery, make sure your battery can handle the extra current before the mod.
im new to e bikes, but i did see another video on this same trick, and the guy emphasized the importance of getting a heatsink for your hub motor.
Best wrapping in copper wire then you can remove it when you get tired of the battery flattening faster 😅💯🤠🤟
do you still have to squeeze them ? before wrapping them in copper ?
@@R3FL3X84 Just wrap the shunt ,looks like a staple
I know, right!!! 😅
wow thanks for the info, i was wondering if you could help with my 3000w aliexpress ebike kit, with supposedly proper controller and 3000w 20ah battery, I have had this problem since day one, . well with fully charged, i can only get maybe 150 yards and it simply quits, with total power failure, then i come back to the shop and plug it in and it resets the battery and i can go another about 150 yards and so on,,, any suggestion?
I suspect the bms might be yout problem I might have a solution for ya tho
@@E-bikeguy well i sure could use some help and happy to pay you ,, just dont know where else to turn , and btw i thought the problem was the battery so i bought another battery higher wattage , and the same results,
Ok email address is theebikeguy08@gmail.com
and i was thinking of getting a sabvoton controller to hook up to this aliexpress motor, and wondering if you know it that would work, thanks man
@kimgueldenhaar1435 yes I will work depending on motor you might need a hall adapter
I have a setup with a 2000w with 48v 20a battery should i do the same thing in the controller that you did on video ? Will i get more power ?
Yes, you can preform a shunt mod, you will see a increase in acceleration
@@E-bikeguy but the battery is only 48v
@boratbonisfacio4537 that is fine the controller will pull more current from battery no matter if it's 36v or 48v the higher the volts the more top speed
But it will cosnume more battery too right ?
@boratbonisfacio4537 yes it will. There are some advantages and disadvantages to this mod
Can you wirer a moped throttle to a 1500 motor and 48 v battery
As long as it us electronically able
@@E-bikeguy the adapter as 3 wire but the adapter for the frottle as 5 wire because it as a key and GPS built-in if that make sense pal
Well I got it of Amazon it did say for electric bike and mopeds it just the adapter that wrong
