Hey great find! I guessed wrong by about 1 generation! 😆 That Athlon is plenty for the voodoo 3, but I know you know that! Congrats again! 👍

You're guess was the closest to it. I hope you got a few good laughs also. I was hoping the hard drive was still in it but that's okay. I just happy I have another 3500 to also help fix my other one. Thank you Bruno.

No surprise you were so happy with such a treasure, everything on that machine looks golden to me.
Yes these 3dfx was more of a 99 card like the TNT2, but that year was super crazy, it started with TNT, then TNT2 in April and GeForce 256 in October... By the time socket 462 Athlon Thunderbird launched in second half 2000 that VooDoo 3500 was already on the bargain bin and such an expensive CPU was paired mostly with GeForce 2... Maybe the original owner had a Slot-A or Slot-1 with that VooDoo and decided to upgrade the MB+CPU, I would had if I only had a PIII / Athlon 600.
    Thanks for the archeology.
I think that SBLive is the first original model right?

I think it is the original but not 100 percent sure. One thing for sure is this voodoo card can cook an egg. Your right the nose for video cards. I wish I could've found the voodoo cards in the bargain bin. But then again I lived 50+ miles from the computer store's. Thank you for the memories. I love hearing about them.

So this is my first computer purchase back in the late 90's. I have the same case and motherboard so maybe this came from CyberPower :-) I got the athlon tbird 1.2 with it. First it had voodoo 3 pci, geforce 3 ti200, and now ati 9600. Sound was originally a phillips acoustic edge. Today it has a audigy 2 ZS and aureal vortex 2. I even put PCMCIA bay in at one point.
It has 4 ata100 ports, but currently i disable the promise controller for a faster boot. It can support some basic raid, but i never used it. You wont really need to use the jumpers, bios can do it all.
Unlock that cpu with a pencil to overclock it.
Check your version you might be able to run Athlon XP's, mine is too early for them. Which is unfortunate cause the older athlons have no thermal projection. I recently burnt out my original tbird, but i was able to replace it fairly cheap.
Id pretty ecstatic to find a voodoo agp card. That floppy combo driver is also are real nice find.

Thanks, I'm not sure where this came from as there's no markings anywhere on the case. However I'm leaning towards your thoughts about this. Since it has some missing case parts like the rails. I love reading about other people's systems from back in the day. Thank you for that.

Drinking and retro hardware, the patrician's choice.
