PLEASE continue with this series …. Personally I love the stories and journey of these type of games but get discouraged by the difficulty. Having you play it so satisfyingly is the best of both worlds and something nice to wind down with at the end of the day!
Regarding the "You can't afford to not take the 25% chance," situation: 4x25% chance of success attempts still leaves you with a ~32% chance that none of your attempts succeed. With a minimum viable population of 500 reproductive individuals, and assuming your colonists 100% fit that requirement (some brief research suggests 10%-20% is more accurate, but let's assume everyone on all 3 ships so far were specifically selected), you're looking at 2,000 individuals to make those four attempts. With the game indicating that a known viable planet is ahead of you, presumably with significantly superior odds of successful colonization, it's more accurate to say you can't afford to take long shot risks like a 75% chance of failure.
Really great episode! So much going on in this episode. I really like your food area design and will definitely be using this in my game too! Nice! Thanks so much for this Nilaus!
Just wanted to say - thank you so much for doing this let's play. I recommended a coworker to your channel, and this playthrough specifically, because I enjoy the thorough work you put into the game. There aren't many playthroughs of Ixion, and I didn't want my own playthrough to frustrate me when I wanted to see more story. Grateful that this is here, and hopefully after the developers fix the bugs, more people will give Ixion (and you) a look.
Finished this game yesterday and I am happy with my choices. Will see how you end up. A weird thing happened to me regarding the colonization attempts. I repatriated every one of them but later on I was punished for my harsh treatment of the colonists. Which I think is a bug in that I was treated like I abandoned them.
You get a negative effect anyway from "failed colonisation attempts" for repatriating people. I'm guessing if you abandon the colonists, you also get a similar negative effect.
I've had some time to ruminate, 4 months of it, and I think I'm more level headed now than when I pulled my "Im MaAaAAaaAaaAD!" BS, I'm still embarrassed about that. When a new game gets released that I'm excited for, I rely on the YTers I follow to not spoil things for me in the titles. You may not consider the fact that there are aliens in the game a spoiler, but it is one. Being a person that gets very invested in games with a story, being someone who places worth in games you can play for 20-40 hours and can never play again because it's just done (I remember that tweet), saying there are aliens in Ixion was like saying there's dimensional bullshit in Bioshock Infinite (games been out for 10 years, sorry if I spoiled that for you). Very important plot beat I was very glad to have un-spoiled.
Edit: Am dumbass, disregard . . . . . . . . I would like to come in here to say that I am very angry. Why you might ask? Well, your video title spoiled to me that there are aliens in Ixion. I don't know what the title could've been because I've been trying to keep as spoiler free as possible, but there's gotta be another title you could've used that wouldn't have spoiled the game for people scrolling idly through their recommended videos. I know it's not an airport and I don't have to announce my departure, but if I want to remain spoiler free, I have to unsub and check "do not show videos from this channel" just so I can go about my life with less fear of getting spoiled *again*
Don't watch youtube since every thumbnail/title is a spoiler. Aside from that; it really isn't a spoiler, but that doesn't matter since you are already angry.
@@Nilaus Seeing as you've been the only Ixion videos I've been recommended, I think I'll be safe now. Edit: Which honestly sucks because the game is so good that it deserves more attention.
@@Nilaus On second thought, aliens in a game where you're jumping through a bunch of different solar systems isn't a reach at all. I've been conditioned by games like Outer Wilds and Frostpunk to avoid spoilers at all costs. Maybe that makes me more sensitive to even the lightest ones than normal. Also, lmao, assuming people who are angry are single minded. What do you think this is, a youtube comment section? Geez

That's the problem with statistics, it can tell you everything at once and nothing at all
I absolutely love your Ixion run! Always refreshing your channel for a new episode!

Love your IXION playthrough series. I'm very excited for it's continuation.

how u plan and organice things is awesame to watch
He has a guide from devs :)
Absolutely love the story and your management 👍
32:38 Lol, Lost a few people, gained an alien monstrosity.
For Science!
List of lost crewmembers should have included E. Ripley and S. Weaver ;)
Nice to see a space zombie dealt with sensibly for once. I'm wondering how much mayhem the other option would have caused.
I'm so curious to see where this adventure will take you 😄

great stuff
9:25 Don't forget to extract your colonists
❤️
pls. continue!! 🙂
It would be cool, and far more immersive, if you could work with the entire space colony, not just a portion of it.
Please do more lets play episodes before doing another tutorial video!!
