The video shows great places for day riding. If you're looking for spending several days riding and exploring you need to get to the UP. You can spend a weekend to a week riding different trails with some amazing scenery. Drummond Island, Keeweenaw Peninsula, Western UP towards Wakefield/Ironwood. Those areas will blow your mind. Some great guide services in those areas too from Discover Drummond Island Adventure Tours to Hamilton's North Coast Adventures.
Jay from DDIAT is indeed a great guide! I followed him around the island for a day and had a blast. Thanks for sharing other areas to be sure to ride. What areas, in particular, blew your mind?
Black Mountain Scramble Area and surrounding trails are my favorite. Luzurne Meadows trail east and west Leota trails. I have only rode the west section.
I go to Drummond Island each year, the whole island is an off road paradise, always a great time and the locals are welcoming. Lots of places to stop off and eat etc and it's nice you can ride through the water of Lake Huron. Has things from rock climbing to mud pits, dirt trails and just straight up gravel. Love the place-going back in September. Also Baldwin has some good trails for ATV and dirtbikes Big O and Little O trails.
Big Bear/Crapo Lake trails are my main trails. We have a family cabin right near there. Just 5 minutes ride down the street and we can pick it up. Or ride the power lines for a couple minutes and pick it up too. I do have lots of photos and a couple short videos. Great scenery.
Big Bear/Crappo Creek "50 Trails are kind of rustic. Like they haven't been well maintained over the years. I have never seen another rider while out on them. Makes for a pretty awesome ride!
Thank you for the input. I agree these are nice places to ride. I'll be sure to mention Lincoln Hills/Little Manistee, Little O, and Tin Cup in my future follow up video.
All right, I have a question about trails. From Houghton Lake what road do I take to the trailhead leading to Saint Helen Trail system? I think it’s Decker Street but I’m not sure. Please let me know.
Lake CO!!! If you want to go to Jail or get many tickets!!!! You know 25 mph not 27. All 4 wheels on the road!!!! No extra lights. This is only a few things. You are that county’s income. 27 mph. $250….. drop off you wheels off the road.. $298… o and the sheriff can smoke, run with no brake lights. Ugh stay away from lake CO.
Me and my buddy just went to Roush Off Road World in Sturgis MI. By far worst place we have been. Trails are very tight and not groomed at all, lots of ruts and pits/wash outs. My buddy rolled his brand new atv from a wash out area. Looks like they have some hillbillies that live at their small campground year round. We won’t be back-mentioned this since someone recommended it in past comments
That's funny. I used to live in Sturgis and yes that place is terrible. There is nothing else like that anywhere close though. Most people I know went to Silver lake
@@ATVG very well marked and they have trails that are gated if the gate is open it's ok to ride the wife and I have been riding there for 3 years now with no problems we stay at a campground called river bend.
If you mean choppy, then yes, the main route there is choppy. But, there are side trails all over that are an absolute blast. Just have to explore a bit.
Hit Bundy hill last week silver lake next week. Absolutely fabulous spots and of course lake Michigan is beautiful with the dunes.😊
Looks like you're living the dream!
You forgot one of the biggest ones by Baldwin (Little Manistee, Tin Cup, Little O, Lincoln Hills)
Agreed. We'll be sure to get those mentioned in a future follow up video. Thanks for the heads up!
My parents live in Brohman just south of there. Hundreds of miles of trails everywhere!

Thank you for mentioning these. We'll look into them, and hopefully get a chance to ride them all this summer.

Spot on! I'm now aiming to make Drummond at least an annual event as well. I've been riding Little O almost once a year for over 20 years.

Sometimes the paths less ridden are the ones that offer the most fun! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
St Helen's trail area is huge. You can ride around all day and never see the same trails. Plus you can ride in the towns around the area.
Several reasons it's on this list!
Looks like some beautiful spots for riding
Michigan has some great scenery.
Don't forget Baldwin, Tin cup and Lincoln Hills

West Branch Rd to 55 to St Helen Rd
@@ATVG OK thanks for that information. I’ll look that up now. Because I’m going up to Houghton Lake area to get on the Saint Helen Trail next month
Leota to Houghton Lake is fine if you like driving 60mph.
Everyone likes driving 60, right? But, in the Leota to Houghton Lake example, are you saying it should be required?
@ATVG no I don't like getting run of the road. Leota in nothing more than dirt road.
Lake County Trails, 6 different trails for SXS and 4 wheelers as well as a 2 track for dirt bikes
Thanks for the input towards the next video. Thanks for watching and subscribing.

lol, you didn't mention Little O and tin cup and lincoln hills??
Little O is a good 50" or less trail, and Tin Cup and Lincoln Hills are good routes.
We like Kalkaska trails off of m72
So do I!

Leota trails and Black Mountain scramble should be on that list.
Those are fun places to ride.
I've went to rocks and valleys before since i live in harrision
What do you think of it?
Some more great riding spots that have been mentioned:
Rouch Offroad Vehicle Park
Twisted Trails
Whiskey Creek
Leota ORV in Harrison is the largest I believe
It is indeed another nice area to ride.
Rock and Valleys park doesn't allow ATV's. They don't want to allow anything that does not have a roll cage. Lame.
Thanks for the heads up, Darrell.
Thanks Darrell.
😂😂😂
Can you ride and camp on Drummond Island?
Yes. The ferry is large enough to bring 5th Wheel campers over to the island, and there are campgrounds on the island.
Grayling is a good spot too we ride all around the military base and even in town.
How well marked is the military base area? Is it pretty easy to know where you shouldn't go so you don't end up somewhere you shouldn't be?
@@ATVG very well marked and they have trails that are gated if the gate is open it's ok to ride the wife and I have been riding there for 3 years now with no problems we stay at a campground called river bend.
Marquette County is really good but none of you trolls ever make it past Newberry so it remains "unknown"
Thanks for the recommendation. What are the names of the trails you are referring to?
love it all except Bundy Hill. hate that place. Not many good trails, just some in & out bowls and lots of mud. Mounting a flag sucks too
It's a good thing we have so many options in Michigan. Thanks for watching.
if you like crappy trails, then ya... st. helens is your place!
If you mean choppy, then yes, the main route there is choppy. But, there are side trails all over that are an absolute blast. Just have to explore a bit.
