I have the same Hogy lure, but I'm unsure of how to use it. In this video you mention just simply retrieving it. In your other videos, I see that you jerk it 1-2 times, pause for 1 second, and then continue with the 1-2 jerk. What should I go with?
+Chris Z You can use a variety of retrieves for tarpon. The twitch pause is excellent when sight fishing tarpon in the shallows, working the bait in a narrow strike zone using a lightly or unweighted Hogy. The steady retrieve in this video is excellent for fish staged in deeper water off beaches and channels. We'd had great success using both action styles, it really just depends on the fish's location, depth and feeding behavior.
