I own the 450 and 820 and I've found the 820 to be temperamental, discs have to be really clean to play properly. The 450 is a proper work horse, will play anything. My 450 is blu ray multiregion, that's why I kept it.
I like it very quiet compared to my xbox
Mine to from Tps very good machine no fuss or display just does the job it needs and the buil quality is top
I have the UB820 since 3 years ago.never had a single issue.reads even the scratched discs.so you likely have a semi-defective unit or a bad batch.
I also replaced my xbox with Panasonic ub420 the image is beautiful 😍 xbox is for gaming.

@MovieMad1 I also upgrade the stock cord with Audio Quest the sound and picture have improved and lower video noise. That power cord that comes with it is not good for sound and picture quality that's why I replace it. Also you need a power conditioner for cleaner image and sound. All my power cord I replace it with Audio Quest from 5 channel amplifier to pre processor. Also my JVC 4k projector replace it with Audio Quest.
True Xbox is gaming Panasonic is the real deal for watchin stuff.

It has a twin HDMI splitter on the back you want to put the video into the TV and the Audio hdmi in the back of your surround sound otherwise it won't decode the soundtracks correctly, Also have to change that in the Audio and video settings

@@RonD84 A Yamaha HTR 2071, i had it working with the Panasonic remote for sound but then it stopped its got a HMDI connect to the Arc and an Audio Cable, at same time when I take the Audi cable out stops working. so will get another HDMI this afternoon and correct the player see what happens
Is the audio and video still being separated if one HDMI cable goes from the player to the TV and the other HDMI cable goes from the soundbar to the TV? I prefer this setup. I used to use the audio HDMI port on the player but it fucks up CEC control.
@@Revolver1981 no it's not mate you won't get the correct audio soundtrack output, don't get me wrong it will still sound good but it won't be decoded properly as you'll just be getting an Arc audio signal and not directly from player
Hello, is there option in UB450 to change luminance of subtitles in movie ? Its big problem with HDR blu Ray disc.
I know that ub820 has it but no one tells about that model.
Just looking, it only has a setting to change the style, but the discs I've tried say no diffrent style available
