I think an underrated aspect of this game is how awesome and efficient the menu is. It's so simple, yet it's pretty packed with exactly what you need. I always liked the menu and options on the game.

Too much work and content; publishers, in this case WB Games, want the least amount of work possible and biggest amount of profit possible. That's why you don't see good and actual content like a Konquest mode, but a lot of ugly skins being sold for US$ 10.00 (Mortal Kombat 1)
This dude should have at least a million subs !!
They should remake this game. That would be sick. Or they should try to come up with a MKSM 2 that follows the sequence of the first one.

I think a sequel would be better. too many people are rehashing old game's stories.

The portal is so cool! Those shadow guards are those sorcerers in the actual stage in the fighting games! Gotta love it.

man... do I miss this game... I wish sony and Microsoft could remake this game and put it on xbox 360 and ps3 that would be sick because I am a HUGE mortal kombat fann and I love this game sooo fucking much.. this was the funnest game of all time

One of the things I don't like about this game is the fact that Jade is killed. SHE'S KITANA'S BEST FRIEND, FOR THE LOVE OF ARGUS!!

It's because Liu Kang and Kung Lao are the only canon ones for a duo, for example Liu Kang actually called Kitana beautiful.

I love using Multalities! Multalities are fucking awesome! I remember one. Here's the sequence for Scorpion's "Raise Hell" Multality. It's Down, Down, Down, Up, Triangle/Y.

I think maybe there should have been maybe two more sets of characters,those being
Kitana and Jade
Jax and Sonya
If you never played this game in versus you can play as a couple more characters
Bo Rai Cho and Hsu Hao.
Jax actually has a fairly playable model. With a cheat engine you can play as him and he's functional (but since he's not playable, he doesn't have fatalities, so glitches probably happen during the gameplay). Also with a cheat engine, since Kitana is fully playable on versus mode, you can actually beat the game as her.
I believe Jade's model is probably somewhat playable too but Sonya is a no-no. She's not supposed to be played.
But yeah, I think if they had more time and the PS2 had better hardware, maybe they would have added much more characters to the game.
Scorpion does have the side kick move.
Awesome, so it's just Kung Lao who misses out :P
By the way, I haven't mentioned this yet but this new commenting system sucks. I don't even know what Google+ is, but I need it to comment? What? Why?
Well don't worry about the google plus, it's like Facebook or myspace, it's in my opinion useless.

The only thing I don't really like about this game is when you play as sub zero or scorpion and they are still Liu Kang in cutscenes. I mean did they run out of time to make unique dialogues, or were they just too lazy?
It would have taken sooooo much work to make new dialogue, new cutscenes and everything for two new characters... not to mention it's the same story anyway. I think they just didn't have the time/resources to expand on it but wanted to give players a cool little bonus.
This game doesn't work without the two *SHAOLIN MONKS*. Sub-Zero and Scorpion are doing other stuff while Liu Kang and Kung Lao are grinding. They would create many plot holes if they tried to make them part of the original story.
Typical for bonus characters to not get unique dialogue. It’s fine.

You fight Kitana halfway through, Mileena and Jade you fight for the entire battle.
When they were fighting with jade and mileena you had to stab jade's eyes
They tend not 2 attack gets shot
The charge moves are actually very good when it comes to expert play.
I know he's one of your favorites, but I always hated Kung Lao. He always just seemed like a whiny annoying prick who was always jealous of Liu Kang.
Only if Shang Tsung impersonated Raiden again and killed Kung Lao while Shao Kahn's at it.
Kung Lao always seemed like the MK version of Vegeta to Goku. Always ranting and whining about wanting to be better than the other guy.
M Hale in the original timeline he was chosen and not liu kang but he refused because the great kung lao died while fighting goro so lie kang fought but they got rid of the idea

Nikolai Nightwolf 177 google emuparadise or someother emulator site and download a ps2 or xbox emulator and the game file. Takes a while and needs decent hardware but it will work
