In these walkthrough videos I play through 'Mortal Kombat Mythologies : Sub Zero' for the PSX.
This game marked the first time the series ventured into the platform genre. It was received negatively by most, but overall, a decent game albeit a VERY difficult one.

Technically if you do use the urns to ‘kill’ him it doesn’t even do so, he just falls. I mean Quan Chi survived as canon proves according to wiki as he’s in 9, so I doubt Shinnok would die from that fall

If you actually defeat Shinok before you go through the portal, you will get the same cutscene before the game ends. But after the credits you will get bonus bloopers from the cast, very much worth it
Literally the only reason why I'm watching this game is because of Gstar's commentary.
I only watch this because his walkthrough on it is the best one, and it showed up at the top of the search

Hey, just a head's up. You can defeat the first form of Shinnok using another method. If you get him to about mid platform (where the glowing yellow circle is) and stand at one of the far ends, you can shoot the freeze and then step onto the teleport. When Sub Zero teleports to the other side, Shinnok changes direction to face Sub Zero and the freeze hits him from behind. You can then simply run up to him and grab the amulet. This way, you take no damage.

I remember how to beat Shinnok's 2nd form. You have to collect every green urn and save them (because they replenish your ice bar), and spam the "polar blast" until he falls.

I am actually one of those people that figured out this game without a guide. How the hell I did that? I'll never know...I even spent more money on renting this game so I could beat it. Yes I was a foolish teenager at the time. XD

22:42 If you would have spared Sareena, she would have uppercutted Quan Chi off the stage, and if I'm not mistaken you wouldn't have had to completely defeat him in order for her to do so. However Shinnok would have killed her or seriously wounded her....I had it on Nintendon't 64 so it was hard to tell.
Thanks to your videos, I beat the game. Fuck this game. It was entertaining but there’s no way I could do this on my own without some guide or something. Cool that it has gone up in price.

You are using Fatality to kill Sareena. She helps you to beat Quan Chi and made the boss fight easier.

Thanks for another great walk through. I love the way you take your anger out on inanimate objects like windmills and lifts and use Sub Zero's punches and kicks while you talk about directions. Go and have a rest and then come back to do MK:Special forces.

wow the transition into the fight with shinnok was so rushed... not even a cutscene to prelude the fight.
You get a cutscene if you spared Sareena earlier. Still, I'm surprised the Dead Sareena path doesn't have ANYTHING to introduce the main villain of the game; if you kill both Scorpion and Sareena, Shinnok has NOT ONE CUTSCENE IN THE GAME!
Sean Taylor Shinnok is the secondary villain and Quan Chi is the main villain, because Quan Chi gave Shinnok a fake amulet and kept the real one to himself so Quan Chi betrayed Shinnok and Quan Chi had bigger plans so Quan Chi is the main antagonist

Quan Chi is the main antagonist, Shinnok is the secondary antagonist, Sareena is the tertiary antagonist-turned-deuteragonist and Scorpion is the quaternary antagonist
Isn't Shinnok the primary antagonist since Quan Chi's taking orders from him?
